Why is Chapter 319 inappropriate?

Jian Dan first carried the basket and delivered the vegetables and soup over. Since it was nearby, she returned quickly, but when she came back, none of the people had touched their chopsticks.

"Uncle, Uncle Lin, eat quickly."

Don't try to save me any money. It's so hot today, the food won't stay fresh until evening, and Xin Xin and I don't eat much anyway.

Previously, Cheng Jin knew that this kid came from a wealthy family. After interacting with him several times, including sending them wild boar meat a couple of days ago, and then going through the anti-inflammatory medicine incident, he realized that this kid was not just wealthy in ordinary ways, but had extraordinary abilities.

However, since this was his own child, he decided not to be polite. He could simply ask Cheng Chao to send over more good things later. After all, it was his own child, so he had to protect him no matter what.

He immediately called out to Lin Zhengde.

"What are you waiting for? Try Shan Shan's cooking. Let me tell you, you'll regret it if you don't."

After they recognized each other, Lin Zhengde heard him and Cheng Chao praising Jian Dan more than once, and he became immune to it. Besides, he was the one who met Jian Dan first, so why did he need to say it?

However, they are all juniors. Thinking about Lin Dongfang next door and those in Beijing, well, compared to the troublesome ones from other families, they are still honest and upright. But compared to this person, they are really not good enough.

He took a vicious bite of the tender, flavorful meat, and suddenly, all other thoughts vanished. "Eat!"

Watching the two adults pick up their chopsticks, Jian Xin's little mouth never stopped. With a flatbread in her left hand and chopsticks in her right, she kept picking up meat and potatoes from the bowl, her little cheeks puffing out as she busied herself.

"Slow down, slow down, take small bites, chew slowly."

While eating, she picked out the softer pieces to give to the child.

"Come on, we can't just eat meat, we need to eat cucumbers and persimmons too,"

The child, seeing the fresh color appear in the bowl, paused for a moment, his chopsticks trembling with reluctance. He frowned, picked up a piece, and roughly shoved it into his mouth. He moved his lips a few times, swallowed it with barely chewing, and then set his next chopsticks on a trembling piece of pork belly.

"Awoo!"

Her little face was immediately filled with satisfaction again.

"Are you craving meat?"

Simple and somewhat helpless,

"She doesn't like eating vegetables much. She only likes meat, whether it's pork, chicken, or fish."

Realizing she was being talked about, Jian Xin turned her head, tilted her head, and chuckled at Jian Dan, her lips glistening with oil. Jian Dan felt a headache coming on.

"Eat up, eat up. That's all you have in your bowl. You can't eat any more today, or your stomach will feel uncomfortable."

"Will it always be like this?"

The elderly all believe that it is a blessing for children to eat a lot. Even Lin Zhengde and Cheng Jin believe that eating more meat is good for their health.

“It wasn’t so obvious before, but in the last six months or so, since I’ve been running and exercising with you, my calorie intake has probably increased, and my taste has changed.”

Calories and calories are meaningless at this point. If you can eat meat, why be picky?

It's more practical to say that you should exercise.

"You've already started exercising?"

Sure enough, upon hearing this, both of them looked up and saw just this little dumpling?

A simple nod.

“She’s been running with me all along. Recently, I’ve been taking her into the mountains occasionally to get used to the environment. I don’t expect her to do anything, but since we’re right next to the mountains, if something happens, she should be able to handle it without fear.”

There are so many snakes, insects, and wild animals in the mountains; we need a way to deal with them, how to fight them if we encounter them, how to treat ourselves if we get injured, and even if we can't win, learning a way to escape will do. We need to have these basic self-defense skills.

They agree with this. To put it simply, they are all pragmatists; all those fancy things are useless.

Moreover, Jian Da and Jian Xin's situations are somewhat special. One is an educated youth sent to the countryside, and the other is a child who came to stay with the educated youth. Without a doubt, if Jian Da hadn't had that strength, hadn't intimidated people by killing wild boars twice in one day, and hadn't later killed a pig to save people on the mountain, the villagers might not have treated her the way they do now.

People always feel awe towards the strong, especially those who have reached heights that are clearly beyond their own reach.

"That's true. You're a perfect example. Young girls like you must take good care of yourselves when you're out in the world."

"But Xin Xin, are you tired? Can you keep going?"

The little girl swallowed the food in her mouth, blinked her eyes,

"I'm not tired. My sister said that once I've learned how, I won't be afraid of bad guys."

If Cheng Jin was a politician, then Lin Zhengde was purely a military man who trained soldiers. He wasn't very literate, didn't think things through, and usually resolved problems with force. He immediately responded to the young girl's words.

"Yes, don't be afraid. If someone bullies you, beat them up, beat them hard. Once they're scared, they won't dare to bully you anymore."

Jian Xin nodded repeatedly, her eyes sparkling, and even raised her little fist.

"Beat him up!"

Jian Dan stared in disbelief, while Cheng Jin rubbed his forehead.

Why did the art style suddenly become so simple and crude?

Cheng Jin stood under the table with only his old partner beside him.

"Don't lead the child astray."

"What? A young girl like that shouldn't be bullied!"

"But you can't teach her to fight! Besides, she's so small, she's at a disadvantage in a fight, wouldn't she be at a disadvantage?"

“That’s true,” Lin Zhengde said thoughtfully, looking at Jian Xin, then suddenly slammed his hand on the table.

"Oh dear, how stupid! Let her come to our regiment too. Aren't we getting a new batch of recruits coming in a few days? Let her train with those kids."

Lin Zhengde was so excited he was practically jumping for joy, clearly believing his idea to be excellent.

"What do you say? I'm telling you, if you train with us, no one will dare to bully you, and..."

As she spoke, she realized something was amiss. Looking up, she met Cheng Jin's gaze, which seemed to regard her as an idiot, and saw the helplessness and hesitation in Jian Dan's eyes across from her. She was momentarily stunned.

"What's wrong?"

"What do you think? Listen to what you've said!"

Lin Zhengde is quite shrewd when it comes to serious matters, but he can also be stubborn at times. Now, he's really getting worked up, frowning and raising his voice in rebuttal.

What did I say wrong?

In summer, doors and windows are always open. Lin Dongfang had been standing outside the door for ages, utterly exasperated. His uncle's emotional intelligence was definitely lacking. To avoid any accidental injury, he finally knocked and went inside.

"Simple, are you eating? I'll bring the bowl back."

Simple responded from inside the house.

"Just put it on the kitchen stove."

Upon entering the house, he saw his uncle still frowning at Cheng Jin, while Cheng Jin calmly ate his meal.

"Think about it, do you think it's appropriate?"

The topic clearly hadn't been diverted.

Lin Zhengde also pressed for details,

"What's wrong with that? We're all beginners, starting from the same point. Whether we're herding one sheep or a flock, it doesn't matter. It won't interfere with anything."
