Chapter 13
Mi Rui'an is angry
Wei Jiangxue paused for a moment, then lowered her head and gently sniffed the coat she had just taken off.
Sure enough, the coat was covered in the fruity and milky scents that girls love to use. Wei Jiangxue knew that the protagonist, Mi Rui'an, didn't like these random fragrances because they would arouse her aggressive desires. So Wei Jiangxue quickly went to the balcony and threw the coat into the washing machine.
"It's just a little perfume scent, don't be so fastidious, just wash it off." She casually brushed it off, just like some characters in movies and TV shows do.
Mi Rui'an didn't pursue the matter any further. Wei Jiangxue guessed that she was probably cursing her roommate in her heart for being impolite and always bringing back a messy smell.
[System 233: Your face is flushed with excitement.]
Wei Jiangxue ignored the creature that had suddenly appeared and went to the bathroom to wash her face. She needed to get Mi Rui'an to do her hair and makeup later.
The splash of cold water on her cheeks cleared Wei Jiangxue's head a little: "233, tell me, why do so many people see you and like you after you become famous?"
If a stranger suddenly calls out your online nickname while you're walking down the street and then warmly holds your hand and says they like you, it's hard for Wei Jiangxue not to feel apprehensive and uneasy.
This ethereal feeling comes quickly and should go just as fast. Wei Jiangxue enjoys this atmosphere, but she also fears she can't stay in this environment forever.
"It's so good to be famous... Besides, I'm just a small streamer. I can't even imagine how wonderful the daily lives of those big stars must be."
233 remained silent as Wei Jiangxue muttered to herself.
Sometimes 233 genuinely thinks it's better for the host to remain blind, as it doesn't want the host to face negative comments alone after regaining sight. Many people can't handle the occasional criticism amidst hundreds of compliments, questioning whether they are not good enough, which is why opposing voices appear.
That's not actually the case; some people on the internet are just looking for trouble.
There's nothing wrong with the persona Wei Jiangxue has cultivated on the live streaming platform, but it's inevitable that some people will try to stir up trouble.
Mi Rui'an is of noble character, upright and kind. Even in the established storyline, she still encounters all sorts of oddballs, such as the cannon fodder Alpha roommate played by Wei Jiangxue.
Regardless of whether Wei Jiangxue regains her sight, 233 will try her best to remove the negative reviews that might affect her mood.
Oh, and there's also the sugar daddy Mi. Although 233 hasn't had a detailed conversation with her, she seems to be targeting those haters who attack and insult Wei Jiangxue.

Feeling Mi Rui'an's hands braiding her hair, Wei Jiangxue, feeling bored, tried to chat with her: "What kind of cake do you like?"
“I don’t really like sweets.” Mi Rui’an paused slightly. “What? Are you going to give me a cake?”
Wei Jiangxue hadn't planned to hide it from her: "Although you don't follow live streams or anything, I have some good news to tell you. Ever since you started doing my makeup and styling, I feel like my live stream is getting a little popular, so I wanted to thank you."
233 listened to their conversation while playing the game and almost burst out laughing. Wei Jiangxue was too conservative. It was more than just a small fire... 233's character suddenly stopped. Wait, I guess Mi Rui'an didn't see Wei Jiangxue's video.
But judging from Mi Rui'an's calm demeanor, and the fact that she hadn't hinted at anything to Wei Jiangxue, she was probably unaware of it...
The relationship between Wei Jiangxue and Mi Rui'an is also a bit strange at this stage. Compared to the original storyline, the two of them are now too close. However, Wei Jiangxue's character is not out of character, which has not happened when the previous host was doing the mission. So even though 233 is confused, he can only take it one step at a time.
233 suddenly realized he was being too paranoid, so he lay down and played the game again with peace of mind.
Mi Rui'an's hand, which was braiding her hair, stiffened imperceptibly. What did Wei Jiangxue mean by this? She had already paid her salary. Even if she wanted to reward her employees, she could have given them bonuses.
Sending desserts...
She lowered her eyes slightly, looking at Wei Jiangxue in the mirror who was completely unaware of what was going on, and thought to herself that the other party still couldn't quite hide her little thoughts.
Mi Rui'an had countless suitors, and their methods were endless. Giving food was the most common, but also the least competitive.
After thinking for a moment, she said calmly, "Do you like desserts?"
Wei Jiangxue didn't understand why the question had been thrown back at her, but she still answered Mi Rui'an earnestly: "Yes, I like them. They're sweet, don't you think eating them will make you feel good? And they're usually very pretty..."
Halfway through her sentence, Wei Jiangxue's throat seemed to be choked, and she suddenly stopped talking.
“…That was before I lost my sight.” It took Wei Jiangxue a while to find her voice. “Back then, no matter if I was in a good mood or not, I would find some pretty and cute cafes and spend a lot of money to eat there.”
Actually, it was mainly to spend time with her younger sister. During the holidays, Wei Jiangxue worked part-time to supplement the family income, and she could save a little money each month. If she saved it up, she could take her younger sister, Wei Meng, out to eat something that would make her happy, and let Wei Meng and her classmates have more common topics to talk about.
Mi Rui'an hadn't expected her to bring up the past. She didn't know much about this Alpha she'd only met by chance. Although she'd just had someone check Wei Jiangxue's profile a few days ago, looking at Wei Jiangxue's numerous misdeeds, Mi Rui'an couldn't immediately connect those deeds with Wei Jiangxue herself.
It was written clearly in black and white how scoundrel and tyrannical this Alpha, who grew up in the streets, really was. As for the blindness, it seemed to have happened suddenly, with no medical records whatsoever.
In Mi Rui'an's eyes, Wei Jiangxue sometimes behaves badly, but at other times she is adorable.
Rather than describing her as a hoodlum or a hooligan, Mi Rui'an felt that Wei Jiangxue was more like a cat deliberately knocking over a water glass. Occasionally, when she didn't get attention, she would, for fun, deliberately dip her paw into the water glass and swish it around.

Yesterday, Wei Jiangxue told Mi Rui'an that she liked all kinds of pretty desserts. When she woke up today, she smelled the sweet aroma of cream in the living room.
[System 233: The protagonist received a lot of deliveries this morning. I checked them; they are molds and ingredients for making desserts.]
Wei Jiangxue quickly finished washing up and then found the kitchen. She couldn't see Mi Rui'an's movements, but she could hear them.
Wei Jiangxue didn't make a fuss when she arrived, not to mention she stood casually at the kitchen door, so Mi Rui'an only needed to shift her gaze slightly to see the person sniffing the aroma at the door.
She smiled silently and said, "I'm making cream with a stand mixer. Don't you like cake? I have a favorite cake that I can make for you to try."
"Is it a secret recipe?" Wei Jiangxue asked expectantly as she listened to Mi Rui'an's evasive tone.
“It’s something my mom used to make for me when I was little. I don’t really like desserts, but hers are an exception.” Mi Rui’an lowered her eyes and carefully scraped the cream from the bowl and put it into a piping bag. “It’s not a complicated recipe; it’s just the most common kind of cream cake.”
Mi Rui'an had no ulterior motives; she was simply feeling guilty for reminding Wei Jiangxue of what happened before she lost her sight yesterday.
Compared to never having had it at all, Mi Rui'an believed that having had it before and now losing it would be far more painful. She didn't know how Wei Jiangxue had adapted to her current life, but she was certain that those days had been extremely difficult.
So Mi Rui'an tossed and turned in bed, and the solution she finally came up with was to give Wei Jiangxue a small cake she made herself.
When Mi Rui'an was little, her mother would often make this for her when she came home from work. As she grew older, Mi Rui'an would pull her mother into the kitchen and ask her to teach her how to make it.
She was quick at everything since elementary school, except in the kitchen. Mi Rui'an thought about it and realized that perhaps it was because she was so successful at other things that she became overconfident and thought she was good at everything. That's why she was unwilling to strictly follow the instructions and always came up with her own ideas, which resulted in a failed dish.
After many failed attempts, Mi Rui'an finally agreed to follow the tutorial diligently. But perhaps due to the numerous previous failures, the bad luck continued; either the cream failed to whip properly, or the jam turned out awful…
But Mi Rui'an believes that as long as she practices more, she will eventually be able to pass.
It was with this belief that Mi Rui'an, who knew nothing about baking, was finally able to serve her family a perfect cake after dozens of failures.
But since her mother and the others passed away, Mi Rui'an hasn't cooked in a long time.
Mi Rui'an was really unsure what kind of finished product she could make today.
She sighed softly, noticing a figure approaching out of the corner of her eye. Mi Rui'an immediately looked towards the door and saw Wei Jiangxue slowly moving towards them.
"What are you doing in here? I can do it by myself." Mi Rui'an wanted to tell her to go outside and play by herself.
"Let me help you." Wei Jiangxue rolled up her sleeves, full of enthusiasm.
Seeing Wei Jiangxue volunteer to join the work, Mi Rui'an couldn't refuse her, so he just tossed her a piece of dough to knead and said that it could be baked later.
But as soon as Mi Rui'an turned her head, she found that Wei Jiangxue had covered herself in flour, even in her hair.
Looking at Wei Jiangxue's actions, she added water when there was too much flour, and added flour when there was too much water, seemingly without any problems...
Mi Rui'an held the piping bag and remained silent for a few seconds. Just as she was about to suggest that Wei Jiangxue leave the kitchen, she saw Wei Jiangxue looking for a small bowl of flour, but she accidentally knocked it over, and the bowl flew directly towards Mi Rui'an.
“…Get out!” Mi Rui’an said through gritted teeth, clutching the piping bag of cream in her arms.
She wiped her face, and when she saw the white layer of flour on her palm, she was utterly speechless. Before Wei Jiangxue could even try to appease her, Mi Rui'an pushed the troublemaker Wei Jiangxue out of the kitchen.
Through the glass door, Wei Jiangxue heard Mi Rui'an cursing and swearing. She secretly turned away, a smug smile spreading across her face, while the voice of "233" in her head cheered her on: [Yay, mission to make the protagonist Mi Rui'an angry is complete!
