Chapter 29: Disappearance and the Acquisition of a Magical Item
The arrows shot forward mercilessly, filled with murderous intent.
The usually still Yue Mingxi suddenly turned her head and instinctively shielded the small snake beneath her body.
With a flick of her wrist, Yue Mingxi easily grasped the magic arrow.
The magic arrow instantly turned into steam in her hand and disappeared.
The boy froze, put his hands behind his back, and turned his head to the other side.
Yue Mingxi's eyes turned cold. "What are you doing?"
The boy remained silent, tilting his head even further to one side.
Looking down at the small snake frozen in her palm, Yue Mingxi stood up and walked step by step toward the boy, angrily saying, "Release the stillness spell on Xiao Wu."
This time, the boy reacted, uttering a single word with a wronged expression: "No."
Yue Mingxi reached out and fiercely grabbed the boy's neck, forcing him to lean against her.
With a cold laugh, Yue Mingxi whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't pretend, you will never be him."
The boy paused, then asked innocently, "What did you say?"
"Don't you understand?" Yue Mingxi said coolly. "You're not Wu Shanqing, so don't talk to me with his face on your face. You just disgust me."
The boy's expression turned cold. "You've remembered everything?"
"Thanks to your arrow," Yue Mingxi smiled, her eyes crinkling. "Here, you are no match for me. This place is under my control. I can make you disappear instantly. If you don't want to die, hurry up and untie me."
The boy gritted his teeth and said, "I understand."
With a gentle lift of her hand, the little snake that had been frozen in Yue Mingxi's palm finally reacted.
Yue Mingxi breathed a sigh of relief and slowly released the boy's neck, which had been marked with a red welt.
The little snake hissed incessantly after seeing this.
Yue Mingxi gently rubbed the little snake's head and whispered, "Wu Shanqing, what happened to you? Is this your original form?"
The little snake tilted its head and looked at her, not knowing what she was saying.
Seeing the boy about to attack the little snake again, Yue Mingxi grabbed his arm and frowned, saying, "I already told you, you are no match for me here. Also, turn back to your original form."
The boy's sneak attack failed again, and he pursed his lips and said, "Yue Mingxi, how did you suddenly become so smart?"
Yue Mingxi blinked. "Why should I tell you?"
Just as she came to a stop, a young monk suddenly appeared in her mind.
Yun Ci bowed to her and looked at her gently. "I apologize for disturbing you, fairy. I have come here to ask you to save Xiao Wu. In this labyrinth, only you can save him."
Yue Mingxi looked at him in confusion, "Are you talking about my little snake?"
Yun Ci paused for a moment, then nodded and said, "That's right. Xiao Wu ignored my advice and insisted on entering the maze to save you, but the maze of the elves was too powerful. As soon as he arrived, he turned back into his original juvenile form, lost all his magic power, and didn't even remember who he was."
"A labyrinth?" Yue Mingxi murmured these two words as her memories gradually returned.
She remembered; she had been swallowed by the Black Mist Demon.
I wonder if Sister Bai is alright.
Looking up at the monk, Yue Mingxi asked, "Abbot, is the Xiao Wu you mentioned Wu Shanqing? Did he save me again? Do you know how Sister Bai... Chen Wanbai is doing?"
Yun Ci patiently answered her, "Yes, Elf, he is Xiao Wu. He must have saved you. As for the Miss Chen you mentioned, I don't know, but I think she will be alright."
Relieved, Yue Mingxi asked anxiously, "How can I save Wu Shanqing?"
Yun Ci smiled. "In the maze, you are invincible. You can do whatever you want."
Looking down at Yue Mingxi, Yun Ci said again, "I can't stay here any longer. I wish you and Xiao Wu good luck. I'll be waiting for you two in reality."
After saying this, the monk bowed and disappeared from Yue Mingxi's mind.
Yue Mingxi suddenly woke up.
Looking coldly at the boy who resembled Wu Shanqing, Yue Mingxi spoke again, "Don't talk to me with Wu Shanqing's face anymore."
As soon as he finished speaking, the boy in front of him transformed into a cloud of black mist.
The black mist opened its blood-red maw, "You won't be leaving."
The little snake in my palm bared its teeth fiercely, and its hissing became even louder.
Yue Mingxi almost lost her grip on him, and quickly pressed him back in front of her, coaxing, "Okay, okay, Xiao Wu, let's ignore him. He's no match for me. I'll make you something delicious later."
The little snake gradually calmed down in her palm.
She gently rubbed the little snake's head, and the little snake slowly fell asleep while holding her hand.
Yue Mingxi's eyes were full of smiles. "How did you fall asleep so quickly?"
Withdrawing her gaze, Yue Mingxi looked up at the black mist, her expression returning to its previous indifference. "You're the one who swallowed me and dragged me into this maze. How can I get out?"
The black mist approached her. "You're wrong. It wasn't me who swallowed you and pulled you into the maze. I am the maze itself. Kill that little snake, and you can get out."
Yue Mingxi's eyes turned cold. "Don't even think about it."
"Then you should never leave and stay here with me for the rest of your life."
The black mist burst into laughter.
Yue Mingxi reached out and slapped the black mist, "Be quiet, you're disturbing my little snake's sleep."
The black mist instantly froze, standing still.
Two large, blood-red eyes stared at Yue Mingxi, and the black mist sneered, "You will regret this. This is your maze. That little snake is an outsider. If it doesn't leave the maze within three days, it will lose its mind."
Yue Mingxi raised her hand and slapped Hei Wu a few more times, warning him, "If you keep talking nonsense, I'll slap you to death."
The black mist froze. "How do you know I'm lying to you?"
Yue Mingxi said calmly, "Because this is my labyrinth, of course I know whether you're lying to me or not."
Looking down at the black mist, Yue Mingxi said, "You'd better tell me the truth, or I'll make you wish you were dead."
"Alright." The black mist finally admitted the truth and said, "You can leave as long as you kiss the most precious thing in your heart."
Yue Mingxi stood there, her face slowly turning red.
The black mist looked at her and said sneer, "What? You're scared now? Didn't you slap me pretty fast just now?"
Yue Mingxi's ears also turned red. "It's none of your business."
Black Mist laughed, "Anyway, I've already told you how to get out of the country. Do it or don't, it's up to you. But I advise you to hurry, or your little snake will wake up soon."
Yue Mingxi looked at him, "How do you know he's the most precious thing in my heart?"
The black mist remained silent: "Anyone with eyes can see that. Hurry up, I'm waiting to see."
"What are you afraid of?" the black mist asked curiously.
Yue Mingxi's hands were itching again. Looking at the black mist, Yue Mingxi frowned and said, "Why do you talk so much? Do you want to get slapped again?"
The black mist laughed, "You're afraid to face your own heart."
"It's none of your business." Yue Mingxi pursed her lips and looked up at the black mist.
"I know you have other solutions, tell me quickly."
The black mist laughed, "What if I say no?"
"Smack."
Yue Mingxi slapped him across the face and said coldly, "Then I'll keep slapping you until you have none."
This black mist is the labyrinth; he set all the rules, so he must have other solutions.
"Stop fanning me, I'm telling you." The black mist dodged her.
Yue Mingxi withdrew her hand and looked at him expectantly.
Hei Wu pursed his lips and said, "If you say 'I want to leave' a hundred times, then you can leave."
Yue Mingxi exclaimed in surprise, "So simple!"
The black mist nodded. "You can't slap me this time."
Yue Mingxi curled her lips, stepped forward, and patted Hei Wu's head. "I'm not going to slap you anymore. I find you quite cute now."
Black Mist blushed. "Really?"
Yue Mingxi nodded.
The black mist looked at her happily, "I've been wandering the labyrinth for years, and you're the first person to call me cute. Can I go with you?"
Yue Mingxi looked at him in surprise, "You can return to reality?"
The black mist nodded. "Please take me with you. I am a very precious magical artifact, something that many people would only dream of."
Yue Mingxi looked at him and said, "But you've been imitating Wu Shanqing all this time, which makes me very angry. Promise me you won't imitate him anymore, and I might consider taking you with me."
The black mist apologized softly, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I was so lonely in the labyrinth. When you came into the labyrinth, I peeked into your memories and imitated the person you liked. I thought that way you would stay with me forever."
Yue Mingxi gently massaged the little snake's body to make it more comfortable, then looked up and asked, "What is that?"
Black Mist said impatiently, "Don't you think it would be uncomfortable for the person you like to wear a white veil? I know of a kind of silk that is light and thin and feels like nothing, which is perfect for making a white veil to wear on the head of the person you like."
Yue Mingxi was immediately tempted, "Okay, I'll take you away."
Kuroki happily said, "Thank you. I promise I won't imitate the people you like again."
Yue Mingxi added to him, "You must not hurt Wu Shanqing either."
The black mist said earnestly, "No more. From now on, you are my master, and I will do whatever you say."
Looking at Yue Mingxi, the black mist said, "Master, you may leave now."
"How can I take you away?" Yue Mingxi asked, looking down at it.
The black mist said, "Just drip a drop of your blood onto me."
"Okay." Yue Mingxi bit her fingertip and dripped a drop of blood onto the black mist.
After finishing dripping, Yue Mingxi said impatiently, "I want to leave."
The next second, countless white lights appeared before their eyes, and the illusion shattered.
When Yue Mingxi opened her eyes again, she had already arrived in reality.
Looking at the fresh and elegant Zen room, Yue Mingxi sat up abruptly.
Yun Ci stood to the side and said, "You've finally returned."
Yue Mingxi blinked, looked at the monk who had just appeared in her mind, immediately got out of bed, and bowed, saying, "Thank you, Abbot. If it weren't for you, Wu Shanqing would have been injured."
Yun Ci smiled and said, "You don't need to be so polite, benefactor. I am the one who should thank you for saving Xiao Wu."
Looking around, Yue Mingxi asked, "Master, do you know where Wushan Qing is?"
Yun Ci was taken aback. "Isn't he in here? He was just here a moment ago."
Turning her head, Yun Ci still couldn't see Wu Shanqing.
The black mist also appeared at this moment, looking around with curiosity, its red eyes widening.
Looking down at Yue Mingxi, whose face was filled with worry, the black mist drifted over and asked, "Master, what's wrong?"
Yue Mingxi raised her eyes. "You play by yourself first. I'm going to find Wu Shanqing."
“I’ll go find it for my master too,” the black mist immediately said.
“Okay.” Yue Mingxi nodded, then turned to look at Yun Ci. “Host, I’ll take my leave now.”
"Okay." Yun Ci smiled and smiled.
Stepping out of the meditation room, the man and the mist began their search without stopping.
But no matter how hard they searched, they couldn't find Wushanqing.
Wushanqing seemed to have vanished into thin air.
