Chapter 42

The men and horses were tired from running, so they found a big tree to cool off.

Zuihong did not rush to lower his head to eat grass. Instead, he tensed his muscles, stomped the ground with his right front hoof impatiently, made puffing sounds from his nostrils, and stared at Fenghun vigilantly. If it were not tied with a rein, he would probably have attacked the wolf first.

Feng Hun also bared his teeth and glared, with his front body lowered, exuding a murderous aura. His sharp fangs made people tremble with fear.

A horse and a wolf were facing each other at a distance of several feet, and neither of them relaxed.

Yan Sikong, who was sitting nearby, couldn't help but get nervous as well: "Feng Ye, they're going to fight."

"It's okay." Feng Ye lay on the grass with his legs up, enjoying the gentle breeze. "They are playing around. This is not the first day they have been doing this."

"..." Yan Sikong looked at the two beasts with their swords drawn. How could it look like a joke?

Feng Ye opened one eye and glanced forward: "A horse king and a wolf king, neither of them is submissive, you are quite brave, you are worthy of being the beast of my Feng family!"

"Do you really want to see them compete?"

"I do." Feng Ye smiled evilly, "But if we really start a fight, I'm afraid I won't be able to stop them. It will definitely be a fight to the death, so let's just forget about it." He waved his hand, "Hun'er, come here."

Yan Sikong stiffened immediately.

Feng Hun shook his huge wolf head, trotted to Feng Ye's side, and lay down.

Feng Ye stretched out his long arm, grabbed Yan Sikong's waist and pulled him over. Yan Sikong stared at Feng Hun without blinking, his hair standing on end.

Feng Ye said with a smile: "Hun'er, look carefully, this person is mine, you can't hurt him for the rest of your life, and you have to protect him well."

Feng Hun let out a low “howl” and looked at Yan Sikong steadily with his blue-white wolf eyes.

"Hun'er, listen to me, I'm serious." Feng Ye pulled Feng Hun's ear.

Feng Hun then leaned his head over and slammed into Yan Sikong's arms.

Yan Sikong only felt his chest vibrating, as if he was punched in the chest.

Feng Hun used his head, which was as hard as a rock, to drill hard into Yan Sikong's arms. His lush, coarse wolf hair piled up at his mouth and nose. He felt that he had difficulty breathing, and his body was pushed so hard that he was about to fall down.

Feng Ye said happily: "Look, he recognized you."

After drilling a few times, Fenghun raised his head and turned his face away, as if the previous show of goodwill was just an illusion. His attitude remained as arrogant as ever.

Yan Sikong laughed dryly twice.

"Go hug it."

"That's not necessary."

Feng Ye said in disgust, "Why are you so cowardly? I told you it would never bite you. I raised Hun'er since he was little. He is very intelligent and can understand everything I say."

No one wants to be called a coward. Yan Sikong thought he was just being cautious. He curled his lips, took the risk, and went up to hug Feng Hun's neck.

Feng Hun turned his head and glanced at Yan Sikong indifferently. Yan Sikong also looked at it nervously, as if he could see a hint of impatience in its eyes.

But there was really no need for it to do anything extra, so it just let it hold.

Yan Sikong heaved a sigh of relief. When the man and the wolf exchanged glances, perhaps they really had a tacit understanding. He seemed not to be so afraid of Fenghun anymore. However, the wolf was so arrogant, and the horse looked down on everyone, just like their master.

Feng Ye leaned on Feng Hun and pinched Yan Sikong's face happily: "Not bad, Feng Hun will treat you as his own from now on."

Yan Sikong also half-lay down like him: "Aren't you afraid of causing trouble if you bring it into the capital?"

"I didn't want to bring it back, but it insisted on following me because it was worried about me." Feng Ye played with Feng Hunsuo's large paws. "Besides, it has never been separated from me since it was born. It is used to being around people and knows what not to do and where not to go."

"How many wolves did you raise in Datong?"

"All the wolves in the mountain regard him as their king. When he leaves, his son will be the new wolf king." Feng Ye said proudly, "So, all the wolves listen to me."

Yan Sikong saw for the first time that there could be such trust and affection between humans and beasts, and couldn't help but sigh that all creatures have spirits: "No wonder people call you 'Little Wolf King.'"

Feng Ye glanced at him with a sly smile on his face and a burning gaze: "They call me 'Little Wolf King' because I am a wolf."

Yan Sikong was frightened by the wild gaze and felt his heart shudder.

Feng Ye suddenly turned over. Yan Sikong smelled a hint of danger and his scalp went numb. He wanted to hide away.

Feng Ye, however, placed his hands on his sides, trapping him between Feng Hun and himself.

Yan Sikong was forced to look into Feng Ye's wolf eyes: "What happened?"

"A question suddenly occurred to me."

"What?"

"Have you ever done that?" Feng Ye tilted his neck, his eyes wandering over Yan Sikong's face.

Yan Sikong couldn't help but retreat, but he could only hold on to Feng Hun's strong back. He suddenly felt dry mouth and his breathing became a little faster unconsciously.

"Go ahead." Feng Ye sneered, "Look at you hugging that woman, you look like you are very familiar with it."

"It's just a casual act." Yan Sikong wanted to bite his tongue after he finished speaking. Why did he need to explain? But then he thought again, Feng Ye has always been willful and domineering, and he simply won't let him not say it.

"Oh, so have you ever done it?" There were some tiny, evil flames flickering in Feng Ye's eyes.

Yan Sikong frowned: "Why are you asking this?"

"I ask, you answer, speak quickly, and don't lie to me."

Yan Sikong's eyes flickered for a while before he said, "No."

Feng Ye was amused: "Really?"

"I don't have a wife." Yan Sikong felt embarrassed as if he was being laughed at. "What about you? Do you have one?"

"Neither do I." Feng Ye bit his lower lip, squinted his eyes and chuckled, "Don't you want to try?"

"No." When most people were young and their sexual desires were budding, Yan Sikong was going through a great change. He didn't have a single thought about romance. He didn't want to touch those prostitutes either. After all, he had been educated in etiquette and music for many years. Although he was indeed restless, he believed that people with a shrewd mind should not be controlled by low-level desires. This kind of restraint was a kind of self-cultivation.

Feng Ye glanced down and raised his eyebrows: "I don't believe it. Or you just grew that thing for nothing and it's useless?"

Although Yan Sikong is not interested in sex, as a man, he cannot tolerate others saying that he is "useless". He raised his chin and said, "When I need it, it will be useful."

Feng Ye grinned and said, "But I want to try it."

Yan Sikong's back suddenly froze.

Feng Ye leaned close to his ear and said ambiguously: "Why don't we give it a try."

Yan Sikong placed his palm against Feng Ye's chest, silently refusing.

In fact, what he rejected was not men. As long as it was necessary, he didn't care about men or women. He just didn't want to get into a chaotic and uncontrollable relationship with Feng Ye.

Feng Ye let go of Yan Sikong with a low laugh. Just when he breathed a sigh of relief, Feng Ye suddenly sipped quickly on his cheek.

Yan Sikong's face suddenly became hot.

Feng Ye laughed loudly and lay on Feng Hun, rubbing his fur happily like a child who had succeeded in a trick.

Yan Sikong looked at Feng Ye's happy look and he couldn't feel annoyed at all. Instead, he felt jealous. Who wouldn't want to live as freely and unrestrainedly as Feng Ye?

He also lay on his back on Feng Hun again, staring absentmindedly at the azure sky above his head. The sunlight shining through the gaps between the mottled leaves was gentle and warm, and the loose hair on his temples gently caressed his cheeks in the breeze.

He hadn't felt so comfortable and relaxed for a long time. He just wanted to fall asleep lazily like this, maybe he could have a good dream.

A warm hand held his hand. The rough texture of the fingertips gave him a strange sense of comfort. He moved, but did not pull back, so he just let it go.

Feng Ye's clear voice echoed with the wind: "You didn't sleep well last night. Go to sleep if you are tired. I will keep you company."

Yan Sikong blinked his eyes, and felt his whole body was immersed in warmth and comfort. He didn't even want to move his fingertips. Being such a cautious person, he closed his eyes so confidently and fell into a dream.

——

Yan Sikong slept until dusk. When he opened his eyes, he found Feng Ye looking at him with a smile, and suddenly felt a little embarrassed.

"Finally you woke up." Feng Ye said briskly, "I would have woken you up even if you didn't wake up. You'd catch a cold if you continued to sleep."

Yan Sikong sat up and yawned: "I slept for two hours?"

"Well, it seems that I scared you so much that you couldn't sleep last night."

"I said, I'm not afraid." Yan Sikong laughed, "You underestimated me." He stood up and saw Feng Hun just woke up, shaking his fur.

"Let's go back and have dinner."

The two of them got back on their horses. Feng Hun followed them for a while, then turned away and ran up the mountain. Soon he disappeared into the woods and could not be seen again.

"You plan to keep it on the mountain forever?"

"Well, I can visit it anytime in the camp on weekdays. It's better than keeping it in the palace."

"That's true." Yan Sikong had always been worried that he would be too bored to bear it on the day of the Soul Sealing Ceremony and would go for a walk on the street, which would definitely cause a big commotion.

The two returned to the manor, where dinner had already been prepared. Here, there was nothing to consider, only to enjoy oneself. No wonder the royal family and nobles liked to come here to relax.

After dinner, they played with the birds and fed the fish in the yard, just to relax and enjoy themselves. Less than a day had passed since they had been so idle, but Yan Sikong already felt uncomfortable.

When it was time to rest, Yan Sikong reminded Feng Ye: "What time do we get up tomorrow? Aren't we going to climb to the top?"

"Well, you can get up whenever you want."

"I never stay in bed too late, let's go earlier."

Feng Ye nodded, and suddenly said with a wicked smile: "Do you want to go to my room? We can talk at night."

Yan Sikong sneered: "No need."

Feng Ye didn't care, he just smiled confidently: "Sooner or later you will."
