Sixty-five feathers

Sixty-five feathers

"Brother, you really make me feel sad..." Yinster couldn't help but smile bitterly, his face full of sadness. If people who didn't know him would just think he was the one being bullied.

Suddenly, the atmosphere around him suddenly changed, becoming as cold as a terrifying poisonous snake spitting out its core under the night sky. "But do you really think you can get out?"

What does he mean?

Ye Linghan and Yin Chen looked at each other, then looked at each other.

He didn't dare to let his guard down and moved the gun in his hand forward half an inch, almost touching the other person's forehead.

Yinster's head was forced back, but he took the opportunity to twirl his fingertips and snap his fingers quickly.

Ye Linghan felt that something was wrong, but it was too late to stop it. He saw two black shadows suddenly appear beside Yin Si Te. After they turned into human forms, there was a familiar face in the middle.

"Sun Mao?" Yin Chen frowned and spoke first, "What's wrong with you?" He was always calm in the face of difficulties, but he was caught off guard by this sudden change.

Sun Mao was being held by two other vampires, unable to resist. Yin Chen had never seen those two before; they were strangers. They were probably from Yin Ster's family, but he didn't care, his eyes fixed on the middleman.

After looking around, I found that there were no injuries on his body, and it didn't look like he had been tortured. He was just being held up, not tied up or roasted.

So much so that Yin Chen had a vague bad premonition in his heart.

"I..." When he saw Yin Chen, Sun Mao felt a little guilty and glanced at Yin Si Te beside him.

Seeing his action, Yin Chen understood. With years of experience in observing people, Sun Mao's eyes had already betrayed his true feelings.

"You actually... dared to betray me." The words almost came out from between his clenched teeth. Everything else was easy for Yin Chen to talk about, but he had zero tolerance for betrayal in his heart. He would not tolerate it from anyone, especially someone who had been by his side and whom he had trusted for many years.

I had never noticed it, or maybe I trusted him enough to completely ignore the flaws.

"S-sorry."

As Sun Mao was speaking, he suddenly knelt on the ground with a thud, causing the two people beside him to stagger. He lowered his head, not daring to look at Yin Chen's scarlet eyes filled with anger.

He knew that he would be exposed sooner or later. Even though he was prepared, he still lacked confidence when the time came to confront Yin Chen.

He knew that Yin Chen had always been very good to him, and that he would never find another boss as good as him. He hated himself but also felt helpless.

"Brother, don't you want to know when the person closest to you started to have different ideas from you?" Yinster fanned the flames.

"If you don't know how to use words, just shut up!" Ye Linghan's gun moved a little closer, completely touching the other person's forehead.

Sun Mao, who was standing aside, was trembling all over. He wanted to refute that he was not really betraying the emperor, but was just having something to hide, but he could not open his mouth.

Ye Linghan pondered for a moment, then spoke slowly and tentatively, "Ever since we went to see Yin Ster about Zhao Xingjian's situation, you've been harboring disloyalty, right?"

Sun Mao suddenly looked up and looked at Ye Linghan in disbelief, "How...how did you know?"

Not only him, but even Yin Chen beside him cast a puzzled look at Ye Linghan.

There were already clues so early on.

"I was just speculating. Although I was puzzled by your appearance in Yinster's office, I also thought that maybe it was really Achen who sent you to make the connection, so I didn't think much about it. But there were many times after that, Yinster always knew about my and Achen's movements and followed us. Combined with all this, it's hard not to think that you were the one who made the connection."

Ye Linghan glanced at the two people in front of him, and after seeing their expressions, he said with increasing certainty, "I'm not wrong, am I?"

"Hahahahahahaha--" Yinster ignored the gun pressed against his forehead and clapped his hands and laughed. "Brother, brother, you've been so smart for so long, but how do you feel about being betrayed?"

Yin Chen gritted his teeth. It was indeed his fault. Because of his carelessness, they were trapped here. He even guessed that Yinster would win over the people of the tribe, but he never expected that he would be so long-handed that he would even dare to bribe people around him.

But at this moment, even though he saw Sun Mao with an embarrassed look on his face, he didn't care at all about the reason for his betrayal, because in his eyes, such a person would only have a dead end.

But Sun Mao felt as if he was being fried in oil. He knelt down and took two steps forward, but was restrained by the people beside him.

As a last resort, he could only tremble and say, "Master... I really have no other choice. My wife and children are controlled by the Second Young Master. What can I do? I really have no other choice..."

Yin Chen set his eyes on Sun Mao. When he heard him mention his family, he was indeed moved. After all, no one could handle the situation calmly and properly if their family was threatened. But betrayal is betrayal, and since it has been done, there is no explanation.

"You have countless ways to solve this problem. The simplest one is to come to me and explain the situation. You've been with me for so long, I've long considered you family. Do you think I won't help you?"

Sun Mao has been by his side since he was young and inexperienced and was forced to take over his father's management of the group. Over the years, he has regarded him as an indispensable family member. But now, this non-blood-related family member has taught him that the most painful thing is the gunshots fired by relatives.

Sun Mao, who was kneeling on the ground, was already in tears and kept shaking his head. "I didn't, I didn't. I also wanted to ask you for help, but the second young master said that he had developed a very powerful potion. Even you can't do anything to him, so I don't dare to gamble. I don't dare to joke with the lives of my relatives--"

He shouted out his last few words, as if finally releasing the emotions that had been suppressed in his heart for a long time.

Ye Linghan, who was standing aside, had never expected that Sun Mao, who always seemed loyal, would actually do such a thing. He couldn't help but be attracted by his complaints, and as a result, he was not careful for a moment and was caught by Yin Si's flaw.

Yin Sit quickly raised his hand and grabbed Ye Linghan's wrist, dodged to prevent accidental injury, and then snatched the pistol in one go.

The last trump card was taken away, and the two seemed even more isolated and helpless when facing Yin Ster. The situation on the field was reversed in an instant, and the dark hole was instantly in front of Ye Linghan.

"Yinster, don't touch him!" Yin Chen shouted angrily.

Yinster didn't take it seriously and raised his eyebrows slightly, "Oh? Brother, what right do you have to threaten me now?"

He looked at the person in front of him nonchalantly, "How about I kill you, brother, will you stay with me?" After he said that, his gaze fell back on Yin Chen.

But for a conceited and talkative person, the biggest change is himself.

As the saying goes, a villain dies because he talks too much.

Suddenly, a shadow jumped up from below. Sun Mao didn't know where he got the powerful strength from, but he broke free from the two vampires who were holding him. Then he hugged Yinster's waist and knocked him away with inertia and huge impact force.

"You're looking for death!" After falling to the ground, Yin Sit quickly stood up, pointed the gun at Sun Mao and pulled the trigger, wanting to kill him without mercy.

Taking this opportunity, Yin Chen quickly hugged Ye Linghan and dodged to the side.

Just as he stood up, the sound of bullets being fired filled the entire hall, followed by a muffled groan and the sound of someone falling to the ground.

Yin Chen's expression was slightly moved, his eyebrows twitching as he looked down at Sun Mao, only to see that the bullet had pierced his chest, and large mouthfuls of blood spurted out.

Sun Mao's body trembled with pain, and his voice was shaking as well. He forced a smile on his face, as if he had finally redeemed himself and found relief. "Master, I'm sorry."

After he said the last word, his whole body went limp and he fell to the ground.

Yinster, who was standing by, heard this and raised his hand to point the gun at Ye Linghan again. "In that case, I might as well send you on your way as well."

He finally had enough and didn't want to beat around the bush anymore, so he pulled the trigger again without hesitation.

Ye Linghan had no way to retreat. He knew too well how fast the bullets were. In addition, the distance was very close, so he had no time to dodge. For a moment, it was as if he was driving in slow motion. The bullets in his eyes gradually approached, and suddenly a figure flashed in front of him.

It was a face he had been looking at for over twenty years, and it still moved his heart whenever he looked at it.

Yin Chen wanted to knock Ye Linghan down, but it was too late. He first felt a strong force hitting his shoulder, a burning sensation spread, and then pain came.

This time he could no longer protect the person in his arms. The bullet went straight through both of them, and blood splattered all over the ground along the trajectory of the bullet.

"Brother!" Yinster obviously didn't expect such an outcome and stayed where he was.

"Achen..." The pain swept through Ye Linghan's brain without leaving any room for doubt, and he cried out weakly.

Yin Chen was shot first and took most of the damage, so his injuries were more serious.

The two of them knelt on the ground facing each other, and just like the first time, Ye Linghan held the other in his arms.

Fortunately, the bullet fired by Yin Si Te in a hurry was not accurate and did not hit the vital part, but the severe pain made Ye Linghan almost faint. He held on to the last bit of will, struggled to raise his arms and hugged Yin Chen tightly, unwilling to let go.

"Chen'er!" Everything happened so fast that there was no time to react. The clan leader behind him was also panicked when he saw this scene and stumbled over.

Suddenly, several silver balls fell in the hall, and before anyone could react, a large cloud of smoke erupted, filling the entire room.

Then the noisy footsteps and Zhao Tang's voice came from far away.

"Xiao Ye! Where are you?" Zhao Tang fanned the white smoke around him and came over, accompanied by his senior brothers from the Research and Investigation Department, as well as Liao Xihe and Jiang Wanru.

"I'm here..." Ye Linghan heard the familiar voice and smiled knowingly. He instantly lost all his strength and said the last sentence with all his strength before falling to the ground with Yin Chen.

While in a coma, he had a long dream. This time, the surroundings were no longer dark, but were illuminated by sunlight. He was watching his childhood self running on the grass from a God's perspective.

A man and a woman were beside him, holding his hands. They were his parents.

When Ye Linghan was young, he did not run very fast, but he was always half a step faster than his parents. When he was tired, he looked up at the two people behind him, but the sunlight was very bright and he could not open his eyes. He could only see the faces that gradually blurred from bottom to top. But he could feel that his parents were looking at him and smiling, and this feeling was very familiar.

"Dad, Mom...is that you?" He whispered through his childhood eyes, trying desperately to see the two people's faces clearly. But the wider he opened his eyes, the more dazzling the sunlight became, and before he knew it, tears had soaked his eyes.

Ye Linghan had to blink desperately to squeeze out the tears, but when he opened his eyes again, he found that the space beside him was empty. His two hands were hanging alone in the air, and the two familiar figures were no longer there. His fingertips moved, and the warmth of his palms dissipated with the wind, and the feeling of emptiness came over him again.

Suddenly he heard someone calling him.

"Ling Han—Ling Han—Can you hear me?"
