Daniel, shut up.
He was afraid that if he said another word, this young master would switch to chili water, so he might as well just kill him.
"Tsk." Alexei leaned closer and, like a curious child, poked his wound with his cold fingers.
Daniel was in excruciating pain, but he didn't dare to utter a sound; he even bit his lip raw.
"It seems, Daniel, my good brother can't protect you." Alexei's voice was full of regret.
"Your taste in choosing a master is really not good."
Daniel suddenly laughed, staring intently at him: "Young Master, it wasn't that Young Master Kirill failed to protect me, it was you who made me a traitor in his eyes."
"You deliberately let me go back in the first place."
Alexei's eyes were hurt: "Daniel, you've been by my side for so many years, I've treated you like a brother, how could you think of me like this? I'm very sad."
Daniel sneered: "It's because I've been by your side for so many years that even though I chose the right master, I've been branded with the wrong mark."
Alexei's eyes turned cold: "Right? Wrong? Me?"
With a clench of his fingers, five ice shards simultaneously lodged into Daniel's bones. Daniel trembled with pain, the ice shards rubbing against his bones and intensifying the pain.
"It's all because of you, young master!" Daniel said through gritted teeth.
"I am by your side, but you have no interest in the family, leaving me like a useless person with nowhere to go!"
I finally managed to leave you, but you made me an outcast under Kirill, causing them to distrust and exclude me, and I still can't become Kirill's confidant!
Up until now, it's just a guess. I never laid a hand on Kirill's mother. I didn't do anything, yet he still dragged me here with just a few words. Why?
Why?! Why?!
Alexei's eyes showed pity: "This is the price you paid for betraying me."
Daniel's roar stopped abruptly, and his body slowly went limp.
He laughed awkwardly, mocking himself.
Alexei simply enjoyed watching his disheveled state.
Daniel lifted his face, which was covered in blood and tears, and said in a low voice, "A war without bloodshed, killing with a borrowed knife... Young master, I underestimated you."
"I told you your eyesight wasn't good."
Daniel struggled to catch his breath and managed to squeeze out one last question: "I have one last question."
"explain."
"Did you kill Kirill's mother?"
Alexei chuckled softly, then slowly raised his wrist, and a moon-like ice wheel rose up, beautiful yet imbued with murderous intent.
That is the martial art [Moon Wheel].
Seventh rank! Martial skills that can only be used by seventh rank users!
Alexei, a seventh-ranking officer in his twenties!
Daniel's eyes widened, his heart filled with regret.
Such talent and such temperament are far beyond what that young master could ever match. He really... made the wrong choice.
Daniel's eyes were wide open, but he was no longer breathing through his mouth and nose.
Alexei stared blankly at his remorseful face, then turned and left.
...
"Young Master, your gift has been prepared. Please attend the ball on time."
The maid left, closing Alexei's door behind her.
Alexei walked into the room, and a huge white shadow rushed over and rubbed against his thigh.
Alexei patted his head: "Get down, Andrei!"
Ignoring this, Andrei stood up and tried to lick his face. He stood almost as tall as Alexei.
"Tsk. Puppy!"
Alexei frowned slightly: "Sit down!"
Andrei was pulled away, and he roared angrily to the sky: "Awooo—"
Alexei manually shut it up and summoned the Moon Wheel threat.
Andrei whimpered softly, his big tail tucked behind him.
Alexei tossed him a reindeer leg, and Andrei immediately wolfed it down and fell silent.
Alexei, sitting on the sofa, scoffed at the sight, "You're only being so respectful to me because you need something from me."
If one day I'm no longer able to provide you with prey, then I'll become your prey, won't I? Hmm? Little dog?
Andrei couldn't understand human speech, so he naturally couldn't answer.
It was a variant of an Arctic wolf that Alexei had taken in.
Alexei angrily grabbed a cushion and threw it at it: "You stupid dog!"
"Awoo?" Andrei glanced back at the human, then turned back to continue gnawing.
“Little dog,” Alexei said in a low voice, “don’t betray me.”
"The moon tonight will be very special, remember to stay by my side."
...
The ball started on time.
The little golden retriever, Kirill, was dressed in an elaborate and luxurious suit, and the violet gemstone pendant between his eyebrows made him even more handsome and well-behaved.
Kirill's etiquette was personally taught by the clan chief. His meticulous mind, thorough manners, and gentlemanly demeanor attracted the attention of countless noble ladies.
Vladislav asked the butler with dissatisfaction, "Why hasn't Alexei arrived yet?"
The butler immediately sent someone to urge them on, and soon after the person was sent, a cry of surprise suddenly came from outside the ballroom.
A chilling wolf howl was heard, and a young lady in a purple dress tumbled in, her shoulder mangled and bloody from being bitten.
The clan chief suddenly stood up.
The music stopped at some point.
A giant glacier wolf walked in, fresh blood still dripping from its mouth;
Alexei walked in leisurely from behind the wolf.
He wore a gothic dark-style suit, a heavily embellished black fitted suit, with gold thread hidden in the darkness to outline his slender and perfect figure, and the hem of the suit extending down to his ankles.
The hem, collar, and cuffs are lined with a dark red rose pattern, and the silver and gold embellishments are just right.
