Chang Le nodded calmly, feeling slightly nervous, but mostly expectant and excited.
"Jing Ke" and "Qing Luan" are both high-speed mechs, standing only 2.5 meters tall, making them the smallest of the currently active mech models. Its cockpit is located on its chest, and Chang Le jumped into it.
The cockpit is equipped with a touch-sensitive cable, a handle, a control panel, and a main screen. Chang Le quickly compared the actual equipment with the textbook and the teaching assistant's explanation, and started the machine step by step according to the procedure.
"Connect to the 'Skynet' system."
After the connection was successful, the AI assistant came online, and the young voice of the Jing Ke mech rang out:
"Network connection successful, please start."
Chang Le connected the mental touch interface, fastened the safety lock, and felt his mental energy being drawn by the energy of the interface, allowing him to build and familiarize himself with the mecha's perception system.
"Safety buckle is locked"
Energy connection successful —
The spiritual connection is not yet fully established.
Core startup—
"Buzz—"
The power supply and the alien energy core activated, causing the Jing Ke mecha to tremble slightly. The main screen lit up, and Hua Anning and the others appeared in sight.
The AI assistant's voice sounded again:
"Mech activation successful—"
"Let's get to battle!"
Upon hearing this voice, Chang Le felt an urge to charge forward, but he immediately suppressed it and steadied his movements.
The professor, known as the "father of mecha," said that mechas have a spirit. When you are in harmony with them, they will give you an experience that is greater than the sum of its parts. But if you cannot feel them or control them, you will be swallowed up by the mecha itself.
Mechs are powerful and bloody weapons of war. When piloting one, those with insufficient mental fortitude can easily be drawn into the beastly and murderous instincts of their hearts by the mech battles.
Chang Le recalled these precautions, calmed his mind, and felt every bit of spiritual power he released fall into reality. His limbs became the limbs of the mecha, and his eyes overlapped with the mecha's field of vision.
"Lele, try to get it moving, so it can walk normally," Hua Anning instructed from the sidelines.
"Remember, Jing Ke's reactions are incredibly sharp and his speed is extremely fast. Therefore, the range of your mental control must be very small, absolutely not too large... Ugh!!!"
Seeing the Jing Ke mecha suddenly leap forward with a high kick, almost splitting its hips, Hua Anning's voice cracked.
Jing Ke remained frozen at an angle of nearly 90 degrees, his two legs one in front of the other.
His expressionless face stood there blankly, looking both dazed and simple.
Chang Le inside was still in shock.
She really felt like she had just taken a normal step, but she didn't expect the mecha to react so strongly!
It feels like when you first start driving, thinking you need to turn the steering wheel twice to get it working, but actually just one turn is enough.
Feng Mingye had already burst out laughing, and while laughing, he still didn't forget to comfort her: "It's okay, it's normal. It's good if you don't do the splits on your first time driving Jing Ke."
"Don't rush. Slowly lift your back leg, in small movements. Don't go too fast, or you'll lose your balance and fall."
Chang Le carefully controlled it, and then the hind legs of the Jing Ke mecha rubbed against the ground and retracted, spitting out a string of sparks before finally joining the front legs.
Chang Le's serious face appeared on the screen.
Hua Anning couldn't help but turn her head away to suppress her laughter, while Wei Jinyan cleared his throat tactically.
Feng Mingye suppressed a laugh and muttered under his breath, "I knew it! Improving Jing Ke's leg joint flexibility back then was a major breakthrough. How many resources were wasted when he ruined the mecha the first time he piloted it by doing the splits?"
After using her legs, Chang Le had a better grasp of the range of motion, and then she began to control her hands and feet to perform other movements.
Chest expansion exercises, leg kicks, jumping, head shaking, spinning... Chang Le quickly became familiar with them.
Jing Ke is indeed easy to handle. Its height is close to that of a human body, and it is relatively light in terms of weight, even without a full set of weapons. It is also easy to control and requires less skill from the driver.
After an hour of continuous practice, Chang Le was able to control the movement range of the mecha to within centimeters. His progress was rapid.
Chang Le came out to rest for a while. Feng Mingye asked her how she felt, and she said:
"At first, it felt like my legs were numb, and I couldn't control them when I tried to move. But as I got more familiar with it, the numbness gradually faded away, and eventually, it felt just like my own body."
"You've picked it up very quickly. Take a break first. I'm sure you can do it." Feng Mingye offered plenty of emotional support.
After resting for ten minutes and confirming that his mental strength was stable, Chang Le resumed training.
This time, we will train walking, dodging, and running at full weight.
The maximum speed of Jing Ke's ballast can reach 156km/h. To better ensure Chang Le's safety, Hua Anning and Feng Mingye drive "Jing Ke" and "Kua Fu" respectively to accompany, guide and protect him.
There is no snow tonight, the stars twinkle, and the white snow, like frosting, reflects tiny sparkles.
Suddenly, a slight scraping sound of steel was heard, and a tall figure swept across the snow with a "whoosh," its flight delayed by the swirling snow.
It was a Jing Ke-model mech, with a four-foot-long wind blade made of extraterrestrial metal "Dark Silver" protruding from its right arm, ringing in the wind.
Behind it, two more mechs were chasing at full speed.
One of them, also named after Jing Ke, had its abdominal shell separated, and a "Yi Shui Han" series ice-attribute special ability cannon was charging up.
The AI assistant's voice sounded, and a red light flashed on the main screen:
"Alarm! Alarm! Alarm!
Chang Le saw from the screen behind him that Hua Anning's special cannon was about to be fully charged, and when he looked ahead, he saw that they were about to pass through a narrow valley.
"Power storage complete, target locked, launch."
The special cannon of Hua Anning's mech attacked Chang Le's mech.
