Chang Le glanced at him indifferently.
Wang Yao, the leader; Fu Heqing, the physician; Chen Wu, the financial manager; and Tao Zi, the information manager—these are the four people she has currently selected and is training.
"We're still a long way off," Chang Le said frankly. "After all, you're the same kind of person as you."
"What do you mean?" Lu Jin'an asked, puzzled.
Chang Le smiled and added, "Just like you, old."
Lu Jin'an's smile vanished.
Undeniably, in terms of true strength, only Wang Yao can rival Sui Yunmu; the other three are far inferior to Lu Jin'an's three.
However, there is another undeniable fact: Tamagawa and his three companions were all around twenty-five years old.
Wang Yao was about the same age as them, but Chen Wu was only twenty, Tao Zi was only seventeen, and Fu Heqing was only fifteen. What the future held was still unknown.
Lu Jin'an curled his lip: "Old? You think Old Lu didn't tell me? How dare you call me old?"
Chang Le knew that Lu Yanhuai had told him about his age, but he remained unfazed: "Isn't that right? Anyone can tell you're much older than me."
"Mr. Yu, don't you think so?" Chang Le looked at Yu Chuanxing with a smile.
Lu Jin'an's death stare.
Yu Chuanxing replied sincerely, "Of course, Miss Chang Le is young and beautiful."
Lu Jin'an glared: "What about me?"
Yu Chuanxing smiled and said, "You are mature, composed, and have an extraordinary demeanor."
Lu Jin'an feigned anger: "Tsk! All that salary I get for nothing."
"In my opinion, I have done a good job in all the tasks that needed to be done."
"You're still so self-righteous?" Lu Jin'an laughed in exasperation.
Just as Yu Chuanxing was about to speak, a crow hopped in from outside: "Lele! Young Master! They fought to a draw!"
Lu Jin'an was speechless: "What are you so excited about?! It's a tie!"
The crow looked innocent: "A draw would be great, it's peaceful and harmonious."
As he spoke, he grinned foolishly at Chang Le; if he had a tail, it would have been a propeller by now.
Lu Jin'an clutched her chest: "They're all like leaky little cotton-padded jackets."
"Little cotton-padded jacket? Let's talk about that after you, young master, find a wife first." Liu Qiongsi walked over with a warm smile, but her words were like the cold wind of December, chilling Lu Jin'an's heart.
This one is even better at finishing off enemies.
"Wife?" Sui Yunmu, covered in sweat, leaned over the railing. "Young Master, I want a wife. Can you find me one first?"
Lu Jin'an gritted his teeth and glanced at his silly expression. He saw Chang Le and the others sitting in a circle around him, talking softly. Then he looked at the four guys next to him, chattering away and forgetting about him. He felt utterly desolate.
Chang Le didn't notice Lu Jin'an's resentment; the scene was quite warm and cozy.
Wang Yao pulled down his collar to show Chang Le the bruises on his collarbone, looking aggrieved.
"He hit me so hard! Look at me, my sexy collarbone is all bruised. Luckily I was on guard, otherwise he would have hit my handsome face. Lele, you hit him back for me!"
Chang Le glanced at his unkempt blond hair, which looked like a bird's nest, and said with a complicated expression, "I think he should have hit him, preferably in the head, so that he could wake you from your daydream."
"Sui Yunmu endured so many blows without uttering a sound, and you're here acting pitiful and coquettish. Brother Wang, you're embarrassing yourself." Tao Zi smiled, her words dripping with venom.
Wang Yao looked hurt: "Little Tao, you've changed. You've become cold and ruthless. You weren't like this before."
Tao Zi smiled and said, "Teacher Zigui Ti is a good teacher."
Wang Yao grinned and said, "You can't become a good person by following him."
Tao Zi's expression changed instantly. She tugged at Chang Le's sleeve and pouted, "Lele, he cricketed at me in front of me."
Wang Yao's expression changed drastically: "No, no, no! I meant the cuckoo's cry, no, Little Tao! Please spare my life!"
Chen Wu added coldly, "Lele, he's been talking badly about Master Zi behind his back."
Wang Yao begged for mercy, and Chang Le patted Tao Zi's hair and said, "Alright, stop making a fuss, or Yao Yao will get worried."
She winked at Fu Heqing, who stepped forward and handed two bottles of medicine to Wang Yao and Sui Yunmu respectively: "Apply them now and rub them in, and you won't be able to see them in a little while."
Sui Yunmu, whose face was bruised, took the gift and flashed a bright white smile: "Thank you, Doctor Fu Xiao. And thank you, Young Master Chang Le. You are truly beautiful inside and out!"
Chang Le smiled.
Wang Yao scoffed, and Sui Yunmu immediately glared at him, and the two started bickering again.
While the group was playfully bickering, Lu Jin'an gave Yu Chuan a look and walked with Chang Le along the lake to a distance.
Chang Le's furry hood was draped over her back, the white pom-pom on it swaying back and forth. A cold wind blew by, lifting her striking white hair.
Lu Jin'an looked away from her hair: "You've lost a lot of weight during this training camp."
Chang Le tucked his messy hair back into his clothes: "It's okay, I have more muscle, and my condition is actually better than before the training camp."
“We’ll be entering the secret realm tomorrow, Chang Le,” Lu Jin’an stopped and faced her. “We don’t know what’s inside, it’s extremely dangerous, so please be careful.”
"I know, I will." Chang Le nodded.
"There's one more thing," Lu Jin'an said after a moment's thought. "Once you officially return to the Dragon Sect and the situation in the Ninth District stabilizes, Old Lu plans to have me officially take over his position."
Chang Le was slightly taken aback, but then thought about it and realized that Lu Jin'an was already in his mid-twenties and Lu Yanhuai was nearly fifty. It was indeed time for them to take over their positions.
Chang Le said, "If you don't mind, when he passes on his skills to you using a secret method, let me protect you. I want to see if there's any way to reduce the harm the secret method might cause him."
A look of surprise flashed in Lu Jin'an's eyes, but she quickly calmed down and said, "I have no objection, but I need to ask Lao Lu first."
