She turned to the next page.
But it's blank!
"Nothing?" Chang Le looked closely.
Suddenly, I noticed that after the first page, there were torn pages at the bottom of the notebook. At a glance, it seemed that about one-fifth of the entire notebook had been torn out. After that, all the pages were blank.
Chang Le slammed his back against the chair, staring at the notebook with only four words on it, unsure whether he felt relieved or fearful.
She was relieved that the contents of the notebook had been torn out, preventing further shocks; she was terrified that the torn-out parts must contain something she herself was very afraid of.
Chang Le turned his head and saw that the scraps of paper blown off by the turning of the notebook were scattered all over the ground, like pale ice and snow, half-covering the paintings of different styles on the ground.
The light from the desk lamp was soft and didn't fall on her face; the night was exceptionally dark, obscuring her features like ink.
Chang Le remained silent in the darkness for a long time.
Finally, she slowly raised her hand, took out a pen, turned to the first blank page of the notebook, paused, and wrote a few words:
