Iris waited until the boy left before emerging from the shadows.
"Le Bao, what's going on?"
Hua Changle tilted her head back and chuckled: "He's quite interesting, don't you think?"
Iris: "Huh?"
Iris thought back for a moment, wondering what that immature kid meant.
Hua Changle stopped talking and said, "It's nothing."
"Sister Iris, let's go outside and talk."
The two paid the bill and left, getting into their car.
In the car, after Iris put her things away and closed the window, she said, "I went to the supermarket backyard, but I didn't see the mule."
"The backyard is very big, with many areas. I wandered around more than half of it and found the mule's place, but there were several henchmen guarding the door and outside. No matter who went there, they would be stopped. Even people passing by to pick up goods were being watched by them."
"I observed for a while and saw a person go in and come out after showing a token."
"That token should be the letter of introduction that Wei Liang mentioned."
"Although I didn't go in, when that person came out, I hid to the side and saw his face flash by through the crack in the door. It was indeed Mule."
"But to avoid alerting the enemy, I did not rush in to investigate."
Hua Changle nodded: "We'll take action tonight after we get the letter of introduction."
Iris frowned slightly and said worriedly, "Why don't I come by myself? I'm afraid you..."
While she was struggling with her decision, Hua Changle was already smiling at her: "With all these people in this place, you can't even protect me?"
"Are you kidding? Do you think I can't kill them?" Iris immediately assumed a ready-to-go stance, but her momentum softened when she landed on Hua Changle.
"I'm just worried that your body can't take it."
Hua Changle reassured him, "It's alright, just use your powers less often, and you'll be fine with normal actions."
Iris didn't dare to try to persuade her any further. She checked the time and asked, "What do we do next?"
"Let's play."
"Huh?" Iris was taken aback.
Hua Changle was amused by her bewildered expression: "Weren't we just out having fun today?"
An hour later, Iris led her to the most chaotic street at the border between the Eagle Clan and the Jackal Gang.
"..."
Iris stared ahead; two groups of thugs were fighting each other with iron pipes and wooden sticks.
The walls were covered in graffiti that required a "beep" to be read aloud, and the floor was littered with trash.
Just a wall away, the blasting music from the bar was pounding in my ears.
Iris turned her head and looked at Hua Changle with a complicated expression.
You come here and tell me this is called playing?
"Clang! Ring..."
An iron pipe flew down and rolled in front of Hua Changle.
A bruised teenager ran over to pick up a stick. Seeing someone raise the stick, he said menacingly, "What the hell are you looking at? Never seen a gang fight before? Get back to work..."
Before he could utter the last word, the two bodyguards brought by the Hua family to Hua Changle—Jiang Xuan and Xiao Si—stepped forward.
The fierce-looking boy's eyes immediately softened.
His crooked mouth immediately straightened and he grinned:
"Haha, big brother and big sister, you're busy, be careful not to get hurt."
After saying that, he turned around and was about to go back to fight again, but Hua Changle raised his hand and said, "Wait."
Jiang Xuan stepped forward, reached out, and the boy, who had been running in place, was pulled back like a little chick.
The boy looked at the several imposing bodyguards, and finally at the little girl in the middle, who seemed the most approachable and easy to talk to:
"Is...is something the matter?"
Hua Changle pointed to the group of people who hadn't noticed someone was missing and were still fighting, and asked:
Are you dancing together?
The boy looked distressed: "We're not fighting, no, we're just sparring."
"Oh~"
Hua Changle smiled and said, "You guys look pretty impressive. How about you spar with my people?"
The boy's legs went weak: "Miss, no, grandma, please tell me, please ask me, what do you want to do?"
As he spoke, the boy glanced timidly at the two tall bodyguards, then quickly turned to look at his underlings who were locked in fierce combat, his heart aching.
He'd been causing trouble on the streets for months, but today he'd finally met his match!
These are clearly powerful people, not the kind of petty troublemakers they can afford to mess with.
"I want to ask for directions."
The boy replied without hesitation, "Ask away, ask me anything, I know this area like the back of my hand!"
Hua Changle hooked his finger with hers.
The boy hesitated for a moment, then mustered his courage and leaned forward, bringing his ear close to the ground.
"Where is the most exciting part of this place?"
The boy was taken aback: "You mean?"
Hua Changle frowned slightly: "The most fun one, of course."
Seeing her impatience, the boy immediately revealed a place:
"Yes, this area is a no-man's-land. The Eagle and Vulture Gang, the Jackal Gang, and the higher-ups don't care about it. There are plenty of fun places here!"
What specifically would you like to play?
The boy rubbed his fingers together: "This?"
Hua Changle raised an eyebrow: "I'm not short of money."
The boy touched his chest muscles again, tugged at his collar, and gave a suggestive look to his eyes and brows.
Iris is unbearable to look at.
Hua Changle's eye twitched, and she simply said, "I don't like men."
The boy froze, his pupils dilated, and he swallowed hard before crouching down and moving forward slightly.
"There's another place, but I can't go in and I've never been there. I heard that you can have anything you want to do there, and you can meet any kind of person you want."
Hua Changle's eyes changed slightly, and he smiled faintly: "A good place."
The boy quickly gave the address.
"Come here, here's your reward." Hua Changle picked up a gold bean.
The boy's eyes shone like light bulbs as he leaned forward, stretching out his hands and gazing at her expectantly.
