Chapter 528 The Final Chapter of the Dream 1: The First Signs of Hua Lanshi's Illness

Chang Le saw the doctor rushing from the front building to the back building, and then saw the lights come on, and knew that something had happened.

She got out of the car and walked into the building.

The guards at the entrance tried to stop her, but she took out the certificate they had given her during her last visit to Hualan and said she was looking for Fu Heqing. After verification, she was let in.

Chang Le saw two people hurrying past, paused for a moment, and did not follow them. Instead, he went straight upstairs to Hua Lanshi's office, which was one of the confidential areas.

As the elevator doors opened and she was about to exit, she bumped into Fu Heqing, who was rushing into the elevator.

"A Qing?"

"Miss!" Both of them were surprised.

Chang Le looked him over and, seeing his flustered appearance, asked, "What happened? Where's Fourth Brother?"

Fu Heqing took a couple of breaths, his tone extremely grave, and said, "Miss! Listen to me, Teacher Lan is in the emergency room, and I discovered..."

"Wait a minute!" Chang Le stared at him in astonishment, her eyes wide. "Who did you say was being resuscitated?"

"Teacher Lan, it's time for the orchid."

Chang Le's heart leaped into his throat: "What's wrong with him? What do you mean by 'illness'? Is there something wrong with his health?"

Fu Heqing opened his mouth, but Chang Le didn't wait for his answer and asked again, "Where is he?"

"Downstairs, on the second floor, in the emergency room of the medical department."

Chang Le immediately turned around: "Take me there!"

Fu Heqing remembered what he had discovered, hesitated to speak, and seeing that she had already walked far away, he quickly chased after her.

Chang Le stared at the light in the emergency room, still somewhat incredulous.

Just two hours ago, Hua Lanshi was perfectly fine saying goodnight to her. How did things turn out like this now?

"What exactly happened?!" Chang Le asked, enunciating each word clearly.

Fu Heqing told him, "Panic attack and shock, Teacher Lan suffers from...anxiety disorder."

Chang Le couldn't believe his ears.

Anxiety disorder?

Someone who is always smiling and gentle, seemingly with endless patience and tolerance, actually suffers from such a severe anxiety disorder!

"He... I mean, can anxiety disorder kill people?" Chang Le was momentarily incoherent.

Fu Heqing looked at her with a complicated expression: "Miss, any disease, if it is severe enough, can kill a person."

Chang Le's brows furrowed tightly, then relaxed in despair. She closed her eyes in a disheveled state, leaning against the wall, silent as frost yet to fully form.

After a while, she spoke in a low, hoarse voice: "What were you trying to say you discovered?"

Fu Heqing carefully began, "At the time, I saw Teacher Lan having a seizure in his office. He told me to lock the things on my desk. When I was putting the things away, I accidentally saw..."

"Wait a minute." Chang Le caught the key words. "Locked up? What's that?"

"A document, inside is..."

"Ah Qing." Chang Le suddenly interrupted, her fingers pressed against the wall turning white, her voice softening as if pleading, "Don't say anything yet, wait until Fourth Brother is alright."

After listening to her say this, Fu He felt less conflicted.

Hua Lanshi was quickly brought out.

Because she had taken medication and Fu Heqing brought her to the hospital in time, Hua Lanshi was not in any danger and was currently in a deep sleep due to the sedatives and other medications.

Chang Le supported Hua Lanshi's neck, combed his messy hair to the side, loosely tied his hair with the hair tie from behind her ear, adjusted the room temperature, and then gave Fu Heqing a wink before leaving.

Chang Le glanced at the corridor where people were constantly coming and going, and said, "Let's talk outside."

Fu Heqing followed Chang Le out of the laboratory and walked to the public pavilion by the roadside.

When did you find out that Fourth Brother was sick?

Fu Heqing was taken aback by the question and paused for a moment before answering truthfully:

“It was a few days ago, around the time you were in District 4, Miss. I happened to run into you. But the situation was different then. Teacher Lan hadn’t slept all day. I noticed something was wrong with him and asked him, and that’s when I found out he was sick. He didn’t hide it from me and just told me the gist of it.”

"Tell me how much you know," Chang Le said, leaning against the cold glass.

"The teacher has been ill for many years, since he was twelve or thirteen years old. It was because of the death of his teacher, Madam Hua's illness, and... your departure."

Chang Le looked up in surprise.

A gust of autumn wind ruffled her clothes, and the air was somewhat stuffy. Fu Heqing stood beside her, his youthful face bearing a bitter expression.

"Miss, have you heard of HSP?"

Chang Le shook his head.

"HSP stands for Highly Sensitive Personality. People with this personality type possess perception, empathy, and unique information processing abilities that are several times stronger than the average person. They will magnify the subtle details they perceive from the outside world, others, and their own inner world."

Some say, 'Highly sensitive people are like those born without a layer of skin. Their lives are inherently passionate and intense, yet shrouded in a murky and oppressive atmosphere.'

"When Hua Lan was alive, he was a typical highly sensitive person."

"The teacher was an orphan. In the orphanage, he got used to reading people's expressions and being praised for being well-behaved and sensible. He also got used to observing and analyzing everything around him in order to protect himself and improve his situation. This is how he developed this personality."

This very personality that allowed him to be chosen by his teacher from among a group of children for adoption also brought backlash when his teacher passed away.

"You may be familiar with his teacher, Professor Han, who is Mrs. Hua's psychologist."

Chang Le gave a faint "hmm," recalling the psychologist's presence when she glimpsed her past memories with Wei Zi.
