The performer suddenly paused, then turned to look around.
What are you looking at?
"Where are Leilei and the monk?"
Bai Xie pointed to the distance, where Li Jie was ganging up on a group of old men all by himself:
"In the midst of battle."
Then he pointed to a tall figure dressed as an elephant mascot, surrounded by children not far away:
"Leilei hid inside... well, it would have been better if she hadn't hidden at all."
"Hiss, Leilei is probably scared to death inside. Should we rescue her?" Bai Xie raised an eyebrow.
The performer smiled and said, "Leilei needs some practice."
"I think you're right." Bai Xie gave him a thumbs up, and the two pretended not to see the helpless elephant.
Inside the elephant, Raymond was stiff as a board, on the verge of tears, his heart wailing: Captain, waaaah! Vice-Captain, waaaah! Lele, waaaah! Help!
Chang Le's legs went numb from squatting, and the little boy noticed. He defiantly waved away his "children and grandchildren" and pulled Chang Le to sit on a bench by the pool.
"Sister, rest here. I need to go back and continue building my empire!"
The little bean sprouted its short legs and ran back, bringing order to the chaotic group of children.
Chang Le burst out laughing without even realizing he had been laughing the whole time.
That's probably it.
The warmth and comfort of everyday life are what truly soothe the human heart.
"Wipe your sweat," the performer said, walking over and handing over a handkerchief.
Chang Le took it and looked at Bai Xie behind him in surprise: "Brother Bai, what are you doing... rolling around in the air?"
Behind the performer, Bai Xie stood there, his face covered in soot.
His neat clothes were patchy with dirt and grime, wrinkled and crumpled, like a puppy that had just crawled out of a mud puddle.
Bai Xie stepped forward with a mournful face to complain: "Lele, you have to help your brother! The actors are bullying people!"
The performer rolled his eyes and took two steps back in disgust to avoid getting covered in the dust that had fallen on him.
"What's going on?" Chang Le asked.
The actor spoke first, sneering:
"Someone said he wanted to try skateboarding, and rolled three times in three attempts."
He turned around and saw someone else's dog and wanted to pet it. The owner generously let him walk it on a leash, and he ended up being walked around twice and almost fell into the pond.
Bai Xie glared: "You still have the nerve to mock me!"
Did I tell you to help me up? You helped me up but didn't! And what were you doing when the dog dragged me away? You were laughing, bro! What kind of friend are you?
The actor smiled and said, "Ah, yes, yes, it's all my fault."
Chang Le suppressed a laugh and patted the dirt off Bai Xie's shoulder: "Brother Bai, wipe your face first."
I don't know how they walked that dog, there's still half a dog paw print on Bai Xie's face.
The three of them sat on a bench to rest. After a while, Li Jie also came running back, looking disheveled.
When the three of them looked, good heavens, Li Jie was in even worse shape than Bai Xie, with two bruises on his face.
"What's wrong with you?" The actor asked helplessly, offering another handkerchief.
Bai Xie handed over the water he used to wipe his face, while Chang Le quietly took out his communicator and turned on the camera function.
Li Jie's beautiful features were now tinged with horror, and the red moles at the corners of her eyes and on her neck were washed away by sweat.
"You guys have no idea, I'm a real man, I'm so fierce! I can really fight!"
Not just the old man, but the old woman too, their long stick skills were so impressive I wanted to become her apprentice! It was so exhilarating!
Bai Xie looked puzzled: "Why is there an old lady here?"
Li Jie awkwardly touched his shiny head: "Well, I beat the old man into submission, so he brought his wife, who was on the parallel bars, over to support him."
"..."
"Pfft, hahaha!" Bai Xie and Chang Le laughed mercilessly.
The performer, being somewhat reserved, smiled with his head down.
Just as Li Jie was feeling down, Kulei returned.
The group glanced at her and almost burst out laughing.
Kulei was in an unprecedentedly sorry state.
His face and collar were covered in lipstick stains, he was sweating profusely, and panting heavily; anyone who didn't know better would think he had just come from some extraordinary occasion.
"Weren't you dancing with the aunties?" the performer asked in confusion. "Why do you look so disheveled?"
Kulai wiped his face: "Hey, stop talking, I finally understand why you have that famous saying in Middle-earth."
"What famous quote?" Chang Le asked curiously.
Kulei said seriously:
"Your grandpa is still your grandpa!"
Kulei praised and then criticized:
"I was dancing with an older woman, and an older man got upset and insisted on having a dance battle with me. I thought, 'Let's have a dance battle then.'"
Good heavens, backbends and splits, that's not dancing, that's killing me!
That old man wasn't finished yet. He grabbed the old woman and lifted her up three times like he was carrying corn, which completely exhausted me.
I'm impressed, truly impressed! Grandpa's the best!
Everyone was overjoyed. Just then, the crow returned, so tired that it sat down on a chair and gulped down water.
"Why are you back?" Chang Le asked.
She also saw the little boy waving at them.
The crow looked sad: "I said the 'wife's' bow was ugly, and my parents kicked me out of the house..."
"..."
"Hahahahaha..."
This is a carnival for only crow emos.
Once they had calmed down and things had quieted down, Chang Le suddenly paused, "Huh? Did we forget something?"
"What?" Kurei asked, puzzled.
Bai Xie, who was laughing uncontrollably, didn't even realize what was happening.
Li Jie slapped his forehead: "Oh no, Lei Lei is lost!"
Everyone was stunned for a moment, then rushed over and rescued the elephant doll along with Raymond, who was about to cry inside.
Okay, now it's a world where only Raymond is injured.
Everyone took a group photo in the square and posted it in the group chat of the three monster-hunting teams from Kyushu Academy.
