“One day in the future, your experimental results will be made public, and we will have to leave this paradise. Lele will grow up and have her own life. She is excellent, has her own pursuits, and cannot be trapped in this mountain forever.”
"In that case, why not intentionally send her out now to adapt to the real way of life and pace of this world?"
This is the reason why Shen Sanmei spoke up for Lele.
Jiu Fanggui and Qi Qi understood this principle, and after discussing it, the three decided to send Lele to a school in the Central Plains, but they agreed on three rules.
First, when out in public, one must disguise one's superpowers as vines and must not use any other abilities; second, one must not reveal one's true identity or one's parents' names; third, if bullied, one must report it, but one must not bully others, nor be bullied.
Chang Le readily agreed.
After much deliberation, Jiu Fanggui and Qi Qi chose a school in Mo City, in the northern part of the Central Plains.
Chang Le is in elementary school, while Chen Sanmei is in high school right next door. Jiu Fanggui bought a property in Mo City, and Gui Dao, Xiao Hong, and another lab member moved in, both to keep him company and to protect him.
It is now 050.
More than a decade after the fall of the old regime in the Central Plains, no new government has been established, and each region is in a state of self-determination. Although there are frictions between them, in the face of the occasional surge of alien frenzy and the still slowly expanding Old Ruins, the principle that they all agree on is to unite against external forces.
Mo City is located at the northernmost edge of the Central Plains. The Northern War Zone is currently controlled by the faction led by Gu Zhongshu, and the order within the city is relatively stable.
Because the modification experiments in Jiu Fanggui and Qi Qi's laboratory have yielded some results, those in high positions of power in Zhongtu have a certain understanding of them. After several unsuccessful attempts to find the two, many people outside are actually secretly watching their whereabouts.
To avoid affecting Chang Le and Shen Sanmei, the two must change their appearance and name.
In terms of appearance, Jiu Fanggui used a secret artifact to turn Chang Le's hair and eyes completely black; Chen Sanmei directly suppressed his bloodline energy, turning his golden hair black, with only the ends gradually turning into a clear gold.
As for his name, Chang Le simply picked two characters from his own name to make it "Jiu Le".
Shen Sanmei then looked at Chang Le: "What's your opinion, Lele?"
"Then I'll be frank!" Chang Le said, hands on her hips. "I think the name 'Samadhi' is too Buddhist and doesn't suit my brother!"
"Then what name would suit me?" Shen Sanmei asked her with a smile.
Chang Le frowned and pondered for a long time, until he slumped against the windowsill, looked up and saw the golden light of early summer in the sky, and his thoughts suddenly cleared:
"Fu Guang!"
"Huh?" Shen Sanmei was reading a book and didn't hear clearly.
Chang Le excitedly pointed to the dazzling golden wheel outside the window: "Fu Guang! My brother's name is Fu Guang, and Fu Guang means sun!"
Shen Sanmei's fingertips, gripping the old book, turned white, and he looked slightly taken aback: "Lele thinks her brother is... the sun?"
Chang Le sat on the carpet at his feet with a smile, leaned on his lap, and grabbed his loose golden hair: "That's right! Brother is as dazzling and warm as the sun."
The sun, shining brightly...
A burning sensation settled in Shen Sanmei's heart.
He never imagined that someone like him, who disguised himself and concealed his darkness, could be equated with something as bright and dazzling as the sun.
It turns out that in Lele's heart, he was such a bright and virtuous figure.
But, my dear Lele, you have clearly become my sun.
Shen Sanmei's eyes burned with desire as he gently stroked the top of the little girl's head.
"Okay, I like the name Lele gave me. From today onwards, my name is Shen Fuguang."
Fu Guang is the sun.
They are each other's sun.
...
Five days later, Chang Le enrolled in school.
The city of Mo is near the old city ruins, and every few days strange creatures roam through the city, giving the city's buildings a dilapidated appearance.
Chang Le observed this world he had never been to before with great curiosity: homeless people on the streets, optimistic buskers, people driven mad by war, people working diligently—all aspects of human life were novel sights.
The driver was Wei Linshu, a quiet but gentle woman in her thirties who had come to Mexico City to take care of them.
Ghost Blade guarded the house, and Shen Fuguang sat next to Chang Le. Little Red turned into a thin strand wrapped around Chang Le's hair.
On the way to school, Shen Fuguang patiently answered Chang Le's various strange questions.
Unlike Chang Le, he would often go out with the people in the laboratory to purchase supplies or gather information, so he was very knowledgeable about life outside the mountains.
But Chang Le had never experienced this before. Standing in front of the school, he found it strange to see children crying and fussing as they went home.
"Brother, why is he crying?"
Shen Fuguang replied, "Because he wants to go home and doesn't want to go to school."
"But I'm all alone at home, while I can play with lots of friends at school. Isn't school better?" Chang Le asked sincerely.
The little boy who was crying stopped crying when he heard their conversation.
That seems... to make sense!
The little boy's mother saw this and pulled him over: "Young man, is this your sister? What grade is she in?"
“This is my younger sister. She’s in fourth grade.” Shen Fuguang looked down at Chang Le and said distantly, “It’s her first day of school. I have to take her in. I’ll be going now.”
The boy's mother kindly told him the location of the building where the school admission report was located.
As Shen Fuguang pulled Chang Le inside, they could still hear the mother behind them lecturing, "Look at that little girl, she wasn't scared at all. You're a little man, you'll be fighting monsters in the future, how can you be afraid of going to school?"
Chang Le chuckled to herself, "Brother, he's so easy to fool!"
Shen Fuguang chuckled and shook his head, then gave him some more concerned advice regarding his studies, making friends, and meals at school.
