"right……"
She was about to speak when she saw Mu Liangchao's sly smile, and the words of apology stuck in her throat and she swallowed them back down.
A rebellious streak suddenly sprouted in Chang Le's mind. Thinking back to when Mu Liangchao suddenly appeared and restrained his actions, he decided not to apologize and simply shut up.
"No, there's no follow-up? You're kidding me!" Mu Liangchao said angrily, reaching out his hand.
Chang Le reached back and grabbed the backrest to block his hand, while Mu Liangchao grabbed the cushion and pulled it to the side.
Chang Le dodged backward and pressed himself against the car window. He lunged forward, and the hand that was about to grab Chang Le's cheek stopped in mid-air, his expression frozen.
Following his gaze, Chang Le turned his head and saw several faces peering into the car through the window.
The car arrived at its destination at some unknown time. Fu Guang, Luo Xuan, Ren Baitou, and Xue Wuwang were peeking out to watch the two children fighting in the kindergarten.
Mu Liangchao blushed with embarrassment and stormed out of the door.
Chang Le put down the cushion, got out of the car, and walked to Fu Guang's side.
"Let me introduce you to someone." Fu Guang led her to the living room of the main building. On the sofa, where the setting sun slanted in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, a young man dressed in black sat.
The man looked up, revealing a pair of extremely deep black eyes, expressionless, staring straight at him.
Chang Le was puzzled, but he did not hide.
Having spent the week in the Golden Palace, she knew that no one there intended to harm her. Although she was wary, she wasn't alarmed by everything.
“His name is Ghost Blade. He’s an elder of the sect, along with Fu Yue and Granny Wu. He wants to get to know you.” Fu Guang gently patted her back. “Go and say hello.”
Seeing his encouraging gaze and remembering what Mu Liangchao had said, Chang Le stepped forward and said, "I'm Chang Le, hello."
"..."
Ghost Blade remained silent.
He held his head and forehead.
Ghost Blade is even less talkative than Chang Le is now.
Just as he was worried that Gui Dao's indifference would hurt Lele, who was taking the initiative for the first time, Gui Dao suddenly pulled something out of his bulging pocket.
He reached out and spread his fingers in front of Chang Le; it was a stone carving of a lop-eared dog. The stone had many cracks and looked somewhat rough and old.
Chang Le hesitated and asked, "Give it to me?"
Ghost Blade simply loosened his grip even further.
Fu Guang looked at the stone puppy, his eyes filled with nostalgia, and said, "Take it. This is a gift from Gui Dao. He made it himself."
Gift.
Gifts are a sign that someone values you.
Chang Le's heart was burning. She carefully took the item, and upon hearing Fu Guang cough lightly, she immediately said, "Thank you."
Ghost Blade didn't pull his hand back; instead, Chang Le didn't resist as Ghost Blade grasped his fingertips.
His hands were as cold as ice, and his grip was not strong, but he was quiet and serious, as if he were performing some kind of devout ritual.
Only Fu Guang knew that Gui Dao was simply sensing Chang Le's presence.
Ghost Blade withdrew his hand a few seconds later, and the two remained silent for a moment.
Fu Guang sighed silently, breaking the silence between the two dullards: "A Dao, let's have dinner together later. Lele, you can go play with A Dao when you have time."
Chang Le nodded, not disliking the eerie young man she had never met before.
The next day, Ziguiti from Tianzhou Pavilion returned, and with an unremarkable face, he walked up to Chang Le and said, "Miss Chang Le, hello. I am Ziguiti, and my name is taken from 'The cuckoo cries in the drizzling rain'."
Chang Le looked him over for a moment and only said, "Is your face alright?"
Zigui's eyes, which had been smiling sweetly, widened slightly: "What did you see?"
"Your face is dead." There is no trace of life on it.
Zigui laughed heartily: "It's a human skin mask. It seems that using a secret artifact will be safer in the future. Otherwise, Xiao Changle, you'll give me away as soon as you see it, and that won't do."
They are accustomed to hiding, have a strong sense of territory, and are psychologically defensive, but are not hostile.
They met at first sight, thanks to Chang Le's attentiveness and Zi Gui's deliberate hints.
After this round of meetings, Chang Le had met all the core members of the Dragon Sect.
Five months passed in the blink of an eye, and the Dragons sent two new members, Iris and Huanbo.
Iris was rescued by Fuguang, who was out and about. She is a cool and sassy older sister who doesn't talk much but is warm-hearted despite her cold exterior.
Huanbo was a green python in human form. He was rescued by Chang Le when Chang Le was out training. But to say he was rescued is an understatement; he was actually taken advantage of.
This lush green man kept pestering her, calling her "master" in an extremely affectionate manner. At first, Chang Le tried to avoid him, but eventually, even the "fierce woman can be deterred by a persistent suitor," and Huan Bo eventually became desensitized to his persistence, becoming the first person to stay by Chang Le's side.
Chang Le only thought it was because of the impression of a fledgling, but she didn't know that Huan Bo, who was "injured and rescued", was actually lying there deliberately waiting for her to rescue him.
The reason why Huanbo, who had been resurrected and possessed a new body, was lying there was because Fuguang had released him from the Dragon Tomb Secret Realm.
Huanbo's soul was severely damaged, and his memory was incomplete, but he vaguely remembered his previous interactions with Chang Le. He had also used her primordial energy to nourish his soul for more than two hundred years, so he was very close to her.
Since Huanbo started following Chang Le, it's like Chang Le has an extra mouthpiece. There are things that Chang Le wants to say but feels are unnecessary to explain, Huanbo will directly speak for him from beginning to end.
Perhaps it was because he was influenced by his surroundings, or perhaps it was because he became more familiar with everyone, but Chang Le found himself talking more without realizing it, and even playing around with Fu Guang and the others became commonplace.
When spring came that year, after accompanying Ren Baitou and Yuanwei, who were about to break through to the ninth level, on a trip to the Enlightenment Ice Nest, Chang Le's relationship with Fu Guang and the others clearly progressed further.
The dog days of summer.
On the summit of Qianyuan Mountain, Fu Guang, who had transformed into a black dragon, shrank in size and lay coiled on the mountaintop. His enormous head made Chang Le, who was leaning against him, look like a tiny pearl.
