Chang Le gave a mocking laugh: "What can I possibly gain?"
"To control the world and transcend its constraints."
“Ha, what a coincidence. I can do both myself if I want to.” Chang Le crossed his arms. “Your offer holds no appeal for me, and your plan will only hinder my progress.”
Hades swayed left and right twice: "Then what do you want?"
Chang Le looked into his pure black eyes: "Give Fu Guang and the others back to me."
Hades' eyes lit up, the whites of his eyes seeming to shoot out light: "Shen Fuguang shouldn't have died. He, like you and me, should be a treasure cherished by this world! What killed him was the whole world, this chaotic and disorderly order, this filthy world! In the final analysis, it was despicable human nature! You clearly share the same hatred as me, so why don't you join me and create a new world where there will be no more deaths like Shen Fuguang?"
The glimmer of light in Chang Le's eyes dimmed: "You don't understand me, you don't understand my pain, and you don't understand what I want. We are not on the same path."
"No! We are! You are a monster, you shouldn't exist in this world, just like me! This world simply cannot accept our existence, we belong to a more perfect world. Rather than being trapped to death in this dirty, backward, unsuitable cage, why not choose to join me, break this cage, break the shackles of the world, and roam freely in the vast and boundless space and time?"
Why are you unwilling to accept my opinion?
Why waste your life on these inferior, backward, and filthy beings?
Why waste your talent that could have turned everything upside down?
Hades was so agitated that even the black mist that concealed his appearance and body became unstable, revealing a pair of complete eyes.
Chang Le listened calmly and replied calmly, "Because I consider myself a human being."
All of Hades' emotions were instantly shattered.
"You! How could you equate yourself with those mortal beings?! Utterly foolish!"
Hades, frustrated and disappointed, cursed him through gritted teeth.
Chang Le calmly retorted, "Then if you're not human, what are you?"
Hades tilted his head slightly, and if one could see his face, he would have been looking ecstatic: "I will be the god of the new world."
Chang Le nodded: "Yes, you really are dreaming."
A being that contains human elements but only believes in the evil of human nature cannot overturn the human order.
Even we ourselves, as human beings, can't see it clearly!
Hades composed himself, his tone returning to its original calm: "This is the first time I've formally invited you to join me. In exchange, your Dragon Faction and even the entire Ninth District will remain your private domain; I won't touch them."
Chang Le pressed a slight smile to his lips: "Now you're starting to threaten me?"
"This is not a threat, but an exchange of sincerity. They are treasures to you, but to me they are stumbling blocks. If you insist on being my enemy, I'm sorry, disaster will eventually engulf District Nine."
Chang Le suddenly chuckled softly, a laugh laced with utter sarcasm:
"If you suddenly appeared, surpassing all beings in the transcendent realm and crushing everything, I would believe you. But you are not."
"You've been planning this for decades, even centuries, needing to win people over to ensure the plan's success, needing to sacrifice Tsukishima and Spymagor to conceal your true intentions... With all this painstaking effort, where do you get the confidence to say you can overthrow my Ninth District?"
Hades's expression was rather unpleasant.
He said in a deep voice, "Do you think you can stop me again by bringing a bunch of greenhorn kids like last time?"
Chang Le replied irrelevantly, "I know you must be wary of the Transcendent Ninth Realm behind them."
"It's a pity that those who have reached the ninth level of cultivation dare not risk their lives to fight against me."
Chang Le chuckled: "Then I can only say that you don't understand the Central Plains enough. You don't understand where their power comes from or why they exist."
Hades' breathing quickened: "They come from the power that humanity created for its own benefit; they are merely appendages of human power!"
“I admit that,” Chang Le paused, “but that’s far from enough.”
"You don't understand why I ultimately chose to protect, just as you don't understand people's hearts."
Chang Le swung his arm, and a gust of wind slashed down from his palm, creating a crack between the two of them. After the blinding white light dissipated, a dividing line appeared between them.
Behind Hades, a dark and gloomy mist hung in the air, accompanied by a murky, mournful sound.
Behind Chang Le lies a desolate wasteland, pale and immaculate.
At this moment, the world of black and white is clearly divided, yet equally desolate.
"Let's make a bet, a bet on life and death." Chang Le stretched out a hand.
Hades stepped forward, dragging a black mist with him. His hand, shrouded in the mist, extended: "Swear to your heart, it's a promise."
"The victor gets what he wants."
"The loser is utterly destroyed."
"Smack!"
One in black, one in white, one on the left, one on the right, two hands in the dream world, high-five as a vow.
Chang Le opened her eyes. A ray of warm light shone through the gap in the curtains, and she could still feel the patting sensation on her palm.
