The main body of the Kunlun Snowfield is located in the westernmost of the five regions of the nine major regions of the Central Plains, while its western outer perimeter has been reduced to ruins of alien species.
The Kunlun Snowfield serves as a natural barrier, with the local Kunlun base at its center, forming a defensive line with the various forces in the eight districts to the north and the Noble Kingdom to the south to jointly resist the Western Regions Ruins and safeguard the peace of human territory.
In reality, on the Kunlun Snowfield, Wan Buxun and Wang Yao are currently leading the Dragon Soul Army in training in the nearby border area.
During his journey, Chang Le habitually created a simple map model in his mind and marked the locations of the alien species.
Starting around this time, system notifications became more frequent.
More than half of the people died because they were too exhausted and their superpowers were depleted to fight off the ever-present aliens. One or two others fought each other, but were all ambushed by the aliens.
Chang Le noticed that Gu Yujing and Shen Xiu died right after she was killed by Ryan.
It seems these two used their first opportunity and the preceding dozen or so hours to quickly explore the four areas, and then, confident in their strategy, chose to die at the right moment. They then spent the remaining time collecting items.
Chang Le had to seize the same opportunities and time to catch up with Hao Ren, so he had to quicken his pace while selectively giving up some opportunities.
Chang Le's plan for this area is to acquire as many items as possible within the specified time.
With 22 hours remaining, Chang Le decisively abandoned the remaining items and moved on to the Northern Border Ruins.
According to the plan, it would take her two hours to cross the boundary between the two areas.
This area, though not incorporating any dangerous alien species in the simulation, is vast and devoid of food and water, posing the greatest challenge to both the body and mind.
Fortunately, having been mentally prepared during that extreme training session, Chang Le was able to traverse this area.
During this time, they met Xie Wuyi, and the two reconciled and accompanied each other on their journey.
When you find yourself in a desolate, endless wilderness, surrounded by silence except for the howling wind, with no other living creature besides yourself, and even breathing feels abrupt, that loneliness and desolation can break a person more easily than swords.
Having someone accompany you on your journey is more precious than any amount of physical strength or superpowers.
There are 20 hours remaining in the assessment.
The two arrived together at the edge of the Northern Boundary Ruins.
Chang Le saw a slightly blurry yet undeniably majestic outline in the clouds beyond the boundary.
"That's the number one pass under heaven, Jade Tower Pass of the Ninth District!" Xie Wuyi gazed at the outline of that pass, a hint of excitement rising amidst his weariness.
"I have been fortunate enough to visit twice. Each time I saw this pass that has stood on the border of the old ruins for hundreds of years, I was amazed by the strength of mankind."
"Yulou Pass is the only defensive line that has not retreated due to the alien invasion in the more than three hundred years since its construction!"
Chang Le also stared at that extremely familiar outline, his eyes filled with a complexity that Xie Wuyi couldn't understand: "I know."
She knew the great achievements of Yulouguan, how many heroes' bones were buried outside Yulouguan, and how this unyielding first pass under heaven embodied the sincere hopes of countless compatriots for peace.
Yulou Pass was Fu Guang's chosen stronghold, but now...
Chang Le was filled with confusion. She would enter the Northern Border Ruins to bring them home, and then what? Should she continue to guard this monument to heroes? Or should she leave to find another path to take?
She hasn't made a choice yet; she has no answer in her heart.
Xie Wuyi did not travel with her, and Chang Le parted ways with her.
Because the Western Regions Old Ruins are placed southwest of the Northern Boundary Old Ruins on the simulated map, the area after Chang Le enters the Northern Boundary is the familiar Thirteen Forests River Valley.
When faced with old friends like the marrow-eating spiders and fishmen, Chang Le showed no mercy, taking items at lightning speed.
Li Yunfan in the control room was astonished. He turned to retrieve Chang Le's combat data and said, "He's not cheating. He's so familiar with these alien species and the terrain of this area."
When Chang Le left the Xianghe Valley area in the western part of the Northern Boundary, he still had fifteen hours left, but he had already obtained 5 items, far exceeding the plan.
Therefore, Chang Le decided to take a temporary rest in an area that he was still familiar with.
Although the plan is progressing smoothly, her physical strength and superpowers are being depleted just as planned. Now, she is extremely exhausted and needs to rest and recover. Otherwise, she will easily stumble when dealing with her old friends.
It took Chang Le a full two hours to recover, with [Swallowing and Spitting] restoring her physical strength and abilities to the maximum extent.
If she had continued collecting items as they were, she would have easily ranked in the top three in the assessment. But as usual, her luck ran into Ryan and Carson not far away.
The two looked extremely disheveled.
Chang Le remembered that after her, Ryan was killed again because of a fight with Mira—yes, Ryan and Mira were the two unlucky guys who fought near the aliens' house and were ambushed by the aliens.
After they separated, whether Carson received a tip from Hao Ren or it was a coincidence, he encountered Ryan after being killed once. The two then traveled together.
For more than a day, the two fought their way through three other areas. They had to rest for a while here, and they ran into Chang Le again after walking a short distance.
Ryan, who was annoyed by the points, saw Chang Le and his eyes lit up instantly, like a wolf seeing meat.
Chang Le realized something was wrong and turned to run.
Unexpectedly, a clanging sound came from behind her. Turning around, she saw a majestic Kuafu chasing after her!
Depend on!
Chang Le almost burst into a tirade.
