Chapter 514 Nightmare Coffin Bird; Painting Under the Bed: Bleeding Eyes

The black mist condensed into the shape of tentacles, and fine, dense mist seeped out from the cracks. Only a few tiny cracks were stretched open near the tailbone on the lower back—this area had only cracks before, but no other creatures had appeared there.

"You've... grown up? Increased in number?"

Chang Le watched as the black mist below his waist condensed into fresh tentacles, like a child who had just arrived in this world, curiously peeking out.

And then... they all went back...

Chang Le, who was prepared for them to go crazy: ...?

"What do you mean? You're having a baby in the middle of the night, and you want to wake me up to watch, right?" Chang Le stared at the quiet back in the mirror, gritting her teeth, "You unfilial son!"

Thanks to her extraordinary self-healing ability, by the time Chang Le wiped the blood off her lower back, the cracks had already healed back into dark purple scars.

Chang Le glanced at the time; it was only 12:30, so he decided to go back to sleep.

...

Suddenly, a thick black fog rolled in, enveloping the cozy house, the colorful garden, and the person who had been standing beside her.

She reached out to grab them, but their figures were pushed away by the thick fog and became indistinct.

She wanted to go after them, but found that everything around her had turned black and white, and they had turned gray.

The chill seeped into her bones, and when she turned around, she was shocked to find that the surrounding houses had turned into a cemetery, with hills scattered and tombstones piled up in layers, stretching as far as the eye could see.

"Coo-coo-"

Like the sound of wind piercing through bones, a pink coffin bird flew from the cemetery into the silent black and white world.

She stared wide-eyed as a bird flew over and landed on her shoulder.

She turned her head, only to see the upper half of a bird skeleton covered in blood and foam!

On the head of the white-boned bird, there is a bleeding eyeball, with blood flowing onto the bones, winding into a picture.

"Coo coo—coo—"

A scream rang out from behind, and half a skeleton fell from the shoulder into the palm of the hand, the touch sending chills down the spine!

Her consciousness snapped out of her body!

"ah--"

Chang Le suddenly opened his eyes, his back covered in cold sweat, still shaken.

After a dozen seconds, she came to her senses when she saw the big rabbit lying on its back.

I had a nightmare...

Chang Le propped himself up on the bed, running his fingers through his sweat-dampened hair, still shaken.

Why am I having such strange nightmares?

And that cemetery—it was the second time she had dreamed of it.

Chang Le couldn't figure it out, which only made him more frustrated.

I glanced at the time; it was 1:30. I had only slept for an hour.

After the second episode, Chang Le was completely unable to sleep. She took a cold shower and sat on the sofa by the window, but still couldn't fall asleep.

She looked out the window at the quiet manor and the sleeping night sky, and sighed wistfully.

Perhaps it's true that nighttime makes it easy to recall bad things; at this moment, the comfort gained from the slight ease of the day has completely dissipated.

Chang Le rubbed his temples with a wry smile and muttered to himself, "I'm becoming more and more moody, one minute I'm happy and the next I'm emo..."

Feeling bored after sitting for a while, she decided to attend extra classes. She needed to pass the final exams in January to receive her graduation certificate from Kyushu Academy.

Chang Le sat down at his desk, opened the online class video, and two minutes later, closed it with a numb expression: "I'm even more annoyed..."

She glanced at the bookshelves next to her, which were packed full of books, and suddenly realized that the types of books on them were incredibly diverse.

She stood up and looked around with great interest.

The materials used in class cover computer science, information network engineering, mecha engineering, superpowers, and humanities!

Chang Le's gaze suddenly stopped: "This is!"

She reached out and took the thick book down; the title was written on the retro brown cover.

Daily Life in Middle-earth Before the Disaster

Chang Le opened the book, glanced at the table of contents, and then quickly flipped through the contents, feeling increasingly disheartened with each page.

Chapter 1: Spaceflight;

Chapter Two: Geography;

Chapter Three: Politics;

Chapter Four...

This book records the social environment and basic daily life of the people of Central Asia before the disaster. It covers all aspects, and although it is not exhaustive, it is rigorous and verifiable.

Chang Le looked up and glanced around; next to this book, there were dozens of similar books.

She gave a wry laugh in a daze: "Now I understand why, even though I'm from this era, I can create such a realistic life story about the pre-disaster era for myself."

Her past life and her status as a college student were all fabricated based on her pre-disaster knowledge.

It was all just a dream, a way to rationally escape the past after losing my memory.

These physical books alone demonstrate her deep understanding of life before the disaster. Not to mention the current mainstream of e-books, how much electronic material she read back then is not listed here.

Chang Le raised his hand to put the book back, but then stopped abruptly, his eyes scanning the gaps in the book: "Hmm? What's this?"

Behind where the book originally stood, on the bookshelf wall, gleaming with a metallic sheen, was a round hook, only the size of a thumb.

Chang Le took the book next to her down and tentatively stretched out her index finger. It was just the right size to fit her index finger through. She hooked the hook and applied a little force.

"Click-clack!" The hook and ring made the sound of the mechanism in operation.

"Bang!"

Chang Le turned around abruptly and found that something had fallen to the floor from under the bed. She tugged at the hook again, but there was no response.

She put the book on the table and crawled on the floor to drag the things out from under the bed.

A sealed, waterproof plastic box with a frosted texture; you can't see what's inside.
