Huacheng Lanhe Gymnasium in the Third District.
Hua Xiange finished rehearsing and was removing her makeup in the dressing room. It was morning, and the water concert would officially begin in the evening.
Choreographer William, standing beside him, spoke fluent Mandarin with a slightly odd accent: "Oh, Flower, you were absolutely fantastic today! Your performance was simply captivating!"
Hua Xiange smiled, her face as warm as a spring breeze: "Because I'm in a very good mood today, incomparably good."
William was very curious: "I really want to know why. Is there some surprise at this concert?"
Hua Xiange shook her head, but smiled without saying a word.
William chuckled: "Whatever the reason, your condition is a qualitative leap compared to two weeks ago. I don't need to worry about the quality of your performance this time."
When Hua Xiange mentioned two weeks ago, her smile faded, and a hint of worry appeared between her brows.
"Oh, here we go again, with that same expression." William tilted his head and leaned closer.
"In all the years I've known you, I've rarely seen you with that expression. Are you... having an affair?"
Hua Xiange avoided his gossipy gaze and chuckled, "No. She's my sister."
“My sister?” William immediately thought, “Miss Anning? Oh, I’ve heard of her!”
"no."
Hua Xiange said, "It's another younger sister, Chang Le. She's coming home today."
William thought of the comments about Hua Changle online, and his expression became a little strange, but he didn't ask any more questions: "No wonder you insisted on going home."
After removing her makeup, Hua Xiange returned to the Hua family home accompanied by her assistant.
Hua Xiange returned to the Hua family manor and couldn't wait to push open the door. She first saw her mother Wei Zi, the third brother Hua Yuezhi, and the fifth brother Hua Wuyan sitting in the hall.
Hua Yuezhi looked over, stood up, and respectfully called out to him, "Second Brother."
He was wearing a cool summer shirt, and the gauze on his body could be vaguely seen through the fabric, especially his knees, which were completely wrapped with a section of silver-white metal bone.
That's used to help support and ensure the bones are properly realigned; Hua Yuezhi used it when he injured his leg before. He's been using it to assist with his recovery as well.
Hua Xiange looked him over and asked, "You've lost weight. How's your injury...?"
"It's all alright now, Second Brother, don't worry," Hua Yuezhi replied truthfully.
"Um."
Hua Xiange hummed in agreement, and then fell silent.
Both sides appeared to be very polite.
Hua Xiange immediately changed the subject: "Where's Lele?"
Hua Yuezhi said, "He's upstairs. He fell asleep on the way, and my fourth brother is with him."
"Hua Lanshi is back?" Hua Yuezhi was a little surprised, but then he realized it was because Lele was back, so he wasn't surprised anymore. "I'll go up and take a look."
"mom."
Wei Zi nodded: "I know you're worried about Lele, go quickly."
Hua Xiange went upstairs and knocked softly on Hua Changle's door.
Then, the door opened from the inside, and Hua Lanshi appeared in the doorway.
His eyes were red, his nose and lips were also red, and his long hair was loose down to his waist, making him look pitiful. Surprisingly, this appearance didn't seem out of place on Hua Lan Shi.
"Second Brother?" Hua Lanshi turned her head away, trying to hide her feelings. "You're back."
"Hmm." Hua Xiange glanced past him and looked directly inside.
He stopped by the bed and squatted down.
In the center of the bed, Hua Changle was sleeping soundly, her breathing weak.
A new basic health monitoring device, likely moved from the private sanatorium at the Hua Family Manor, has been installed in her room. It displays her data in real time.
Hua Xiange knelt down by the bed, her eyes filled with the sight of the little girl on the bed, her brows furrowed with heartache.
Hua Lan lowered her voice slightly and explained, "Xiao Wu said that Lele got dizzy in the flying machine and couldn't stand it on the way and fell asleep."
Her physical condition is not yet stable; several hours of flight inevitably puts a strain on her body, and she needs plenty of rest.
Through the thin blanket, Hua Xiange gently placed Hua Changle's hand and asked softly, "Is her health very bad right now?"
Hua Lanshi's lips trembled slightly, and her eyes immediately welled up with tears: "It's even worse than when I first woke up."
Hua Xiange clenched her teeth and frowned deeply.
"I need to rest and recuperate properly afterward. I really don't know what might happen if I don't have a long period of recuperation."
Hua Lanshi sat on the chair, her shoulders slumped, a strand of long hair brushing past the corner of her eye, carrying away a glistening tear as it fell to the ground.
Hua Xiange suddenly got up, walked to the door, opened it, looked around, closed it again, and walked back.
"Second brother? What's wrong?" Hua Lanshi asked, puzzled.
Hua Xiange also sat down, looking him straight in the eye, her eyes fixed on him: "Hua Lanshi, if there is anyone in the Hua family I can trust regarding Lele's matter, it is only you."
Hua Lan's pupils slowly dilated.
"Fourth brother, tell me something, when will Lele regain her memory?"
Hua Lan's pupils dilated in shock, her eyes filled with panic, and her body instinctively leaned back.
Hua Xiange grabbed his shoulders, her eyes deep and her tone solemn:
"You know, if Lele suddenly regains her memories and we're unprepared, the tragedy will repeat itself, and we still won't be able to protect her!"
"Hua Qingyun will never stand on our side, Hua Yuezhi will not give up more people for Lele alone, and Hua Wuyan is a complete idiot!"
As long as Hua Lihan and Wei Zi give the order, the three of them will not disobey them.
"Of all of us, the only one who can help Chang Le the most is you, Hua Lanshi."
Although the Hua family has always had somewhat shallow relationships among its members, with the five brothers having roughly equal affection for each other, when it comes to matters involving the interests of the entire Hua family...
