"But it's not exactly the same," the cuckoo cried.
"This leopard-man underwent significant mutations after being implanted with superpowers, while the batch of people who came out of the laboratory back then, according to available information, did not have this condition. Therefore, this is a failed imitation."
Zigui Ti added, "Based on the traces of his appearance, I also found some clues. Although he appeared out of nowhere and temporarily joined the mercenary organization in District Seven, we have found out his original identity."
"He is a Middle-earth citizen of the Meli Federation. He disappeared three years ago, reappeared in the Sunny Kingdom, and then this time."
Unfortunately, aside from the few times he appeared that allowed us to deduce some clues, no other useful information was found.
Wang Yao suddenly said, "I always felt this was an accident."
"What do you mean?" Fu Heqing asked.
"He's saying that our encounter with this leopard man was an accident," Chen Wu said.
Zigui Ti nodded: "Indeed, given the current conditions, it is quite unexpected that you, young master, encountered the leopard man."
It must be that the person behind it released this unfinished experimental combat power, but unexpectedly, their first move was to attack Chen Wu, running right into the young master's line of fire.
"Continue the investigation."
Chang Le paused for a moment, then said, "Send people to the Meli Federation to investigate the places where this person lived and disappeared. I suspect it might be the work of the [God-Making Faction]."
Zigui Ti agreed, "That's right. Besides the major official groups, only the [God-Making Faction] has such technology."
Chang Le raised an eyebrow and glanced at the cuckoo's cry.
"It's about time, let's go."
The cuckoo cried as it followed, and Chang Le turned her head: "Why are you following me?"
Zigui Ti stared innocently, "I was designated to assist the young master. If the young master isn't here, what am I doing here?"
Chang Le joked, "Aren't you going to stay and play the piano?"
The cuckoo cries with a sorrowful expression: "Heaven knows that I actually prefer quiet."
Chang Le didn't say anything more: "Then let's go."
The group of five boarded a flying vehicle bound for the Dragon Sect.
Fu Heqing asked Chang Le with concern, "I brought medicine. Should I take it and get some sleep?"
Chang Le paused for a moment, then shook his head: "It's okay, I'm not afraid of heights anymore."
She wasn't afraid of heights; she was a madwoman who had endured the painful memories of falling from a tall building.
What she feared wasn't the height, but the souls that would die with her when she fell.
The aircraft swept across the colorful land, flying towards the land protected by the "Yulouguan Pass," known as the "First Pass Under Heaven."
Fu Heqing, being young, was already fast asleep, while Wang Yao and Chen Wu were both dozing off. Chang Le tugged at the carpet covering Fu Heqing, and a cuckoo, propping its head up beside him, chuckled softly.
Chang Le sat in his seat, gazing out the window at his approaching homeland, and a feeling of "trepidation upon approaching home" arose in his heart.
The aircraft landed at the port of Abyss City.
A person whose gender was indistinguishable descended, with snow-white hair, golden eyes, and a body as cold as a snow-covered pine tree.
It was Chang Le who used the [Formless] technique to transform into Fu Jiu's appearance.
Chang Le looked at the familiar land and sighed inwardly:
District 9, I'm back.
...
Including Zigui Ti, all four looked at Chang Le with surprise, but Wang Yao's eyes were more complicated.
He could see that the face contained elements of that person.
Fu Heqing and Chen Wu, unaware of the question, also asked, "Whose face is this?"
Chang Leqin's cool fingers brushed across her eyes, and she chuckled almost imperceptibly: "Does it look good?"
"So handsome and beautiful!" Fu Heqing exclaimed honestly.
Chang Le said softly, "His eyebrows and eyes are those of Shen Fuguang."
Fu Heqing and Chen Wu fell silent.
The cuckoo chuckled.
"What?" Chang Le looked at him.
Zigui squinted and smiled, "I just feel that love at its deepest can drive one mad."
Chang Le remained silent.
She couldn't refute it.
The moment Fu Jiu appeared, she knew that she had gone mad beyond redemption.
"Love, indeed, is poison~" Ziguiti emphasized, then suddenly, in a cheeky manner, leaned closer to Chang Le, squinting her eyes and asking, "..."
"By the way, my young master, are you sure you love him? I mean, in a romantic way."
Chang Le did not answer for a moment.
Zigui stood up straight, exuding an otherworldly and refined air, but her words were a precise and unvarnished blow: "I always felt that your feelings for Fuguang... weren't love."
Chang Le was silent for a while, then suddenly spoke: "I just... can't live without him."
The cuckoo's cry stunned him.
Chang Le, however, had already taken a step forward.
That silhouette, I don't know when it started, began to resemble someone else.
...
"The cuckoo cries and asks me a question."
I would answer like this:
If there are so many people in the world, but my gaze is only fixed on you, does that count as love?
If the world changes and memories are buried, but my heart still beats only for you, does that count as love?
If, separated by the distance between life and death, my world is nothing but pale white, does that count as love?
As for whether it is "love"?
I think, Fu Guang
To describe our relationship as "love" is an oversimplification.
—From "Random Musings" by Chang Le, November 16
...
Chang Le did not return as "Chang Le" this time, so she disguised herself as Fu Jiu. Only the core members of the Dragon Sect knew that she had returned.
When this was mentioned, Chen Wu pointed at the cuckoo and asked in confusion, "But the head of the Heavenly Broom Pavilion, one of the four major organizations, is with us. How can we hide anything from them?"
