Chapter 177 Yan Luo's Visit

Before long, the wooden plaque of the medicine hall came into view. Mo Junqian walked in and saw that there was not only Zhuge Hongming, but also Luo Fan, Luo Yun and a female disciple.

When the two entered, Zhuge Hongming was talking to them. He had a cup of hot tea beside him, which he had already drunk half of. When he saw them arrive, he stopped talking, looked at them, and said, "It's you."

Mo Junqian bowed and explained the reason for his trip to him.

Zhuge Hongming readily agreed and immediately took out the Sky-Piercing Talisman and gave it to him.

"The location is on the talisman; it will take you to Mount Wuji." He paused, then added, "By the way, how is Qi Changfeng doing lately? Is he already preparing for the Five Sects Grand Competition?"

Mo Junqian said, "Master is indeed cultivating in peace. I cannot disclose anything else."

Zhuge Hongming gave him a deep look and said, "You're quite the straightforward fellow."

Mo Junqian lowered his eyes: "Then this junior will take his leave."

Zhuge Hongming waved his hand, ignoring him, and then proceeded to lecture his three disciples.

Mo Junqian turned around and brushed past the female disciple. He glanced at her casually, his gaze sweeping over her face, and a strange feeling welled up in his heart.

He didn't know where the feeling came from. After a quick glance, as he lowered his eyes, he only saw the jade pendant hanging from the woman's waist. It was small and exquisite, with the character "jade" delicately engraved on it.

Confirming that he had never seen her before, Mo Junqian didn't dwell on it and turned to leave.

Zhuge Changdeng leaned lazily against the door frame, and as Mo Junqian was about to leave, he stuck out a foot to block him: "What's the rush? Won't you stay for a drink at the wedding before you go?"

Mo Junqian refused, saying, "I don't know the newcomer at all, and besides, I can't delay my master's orders."

Zhuge Changdeng shrugged indifferently and watched him leave.

Alone, he walked out, shutting out all the hustle and bustle behind him, and gradually drifted away.

Those worldly pleasures were not for him; only a long and arduous journey awaited him.

...

The enormous airship floated on the sea, the remaining glow of the setting sun casting a rosy glow on its hull, its silhouette reflected in the water, a breathtaking sight.

Qinghe stood at the bow of the boat, leaning on the edge to admire the scenery. Mu Dong sat on a low stool not far away, closing his eyes and concentrating, entering a meditative state. In the empty cabin, only Liu Yuntai and Shen Xun sat silently facing each other.

Shen Xun had been resting with his eyes closed, but when he sensed someone watching him, he opened them.

Liu Yuntai gave him a gentle yet respectful smile and asked a question: "Senior, can you really foresee the future?"

Shen Xun looked at him calmly: "What do you want to know?"

Liu Yuntai shook his head and said, "I have only mentioned the legend of the Heavenly Book and Divine Record. To be frank, at that time I did not believe that anyone in the world could have the ability to know the past and foresee the future."

Shen Xun raised an eyebrow: "And now?"

"Now..." Liu Yuntai said, "I don't know either. It's not good to speculate about things that I haven't seen with my own eyes."

Shen Xun picked up a piece of pastry and took a small, soft bite. "This shows that you've grown up."

"Yes, people always have to grow up." He sighed, his gaze sweeping across the bow of the ship, where he saw Qinghe's figure. A gentle breeze blew her hair and robes, making her look cool and aloof. A sliver of moonlight peeked out, illuminating her and adding a touch of hazy beauty.

She didn't care, letting the breeze blow as she pleased, her face calm and carefree, making her seem even more like a high-and-mighty flower than usual.

Shen Xun had already finished the whole pastry. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of his gaze, which darted back and forth between the two of them. He had a bad feeling.

He coughed lightly, bringing Liu Yuntai back to his senses, and reminded him, "It's okay to look, but don't let yourself get involved, it won't end well."

Liu Yuntai lowered his eyes and said somewhat awkwardly, "Senior misunderstands. I don't have those kinds of feelings for Miss Qinghe."

Shen Xun did not expose his hypocrisy, but simply said, "It would be best if that were the case."

The aroma of tea wafted through the air, reaching several meters away, but the mist did not dissipate quickly. Shen Xun suddenly looked up at the mist, then his gaze swept to one spot, and he said in a deep voice, "An uninvited guest has boarded the ship."

Liu Yuntai followed his gaze, but saw nothing. However, his eyes darkened. Shen Xun was never wrong; the visitor must be up to no good.

While undercurrents surged on one side, an atmosphere of romance and ambiguity gradually emerged on the other.

As usual, Li Jiang spent this time in her room cultivating alone.

He prefers quiet and rarely goes to bustling city centers. Since leaving the sect, he seems to have had few moments of peace and quiet by himself. Taking advantage of the few days without any major events, he naturally wants to intensify his cultivation.

Unfortunately, he cannot have his wish fulfilled today.

The windowpane was blown open by the wind, and a dark shadow flew in very quickly, landing on the chair.

The tea on the table had gone cold. Slender, pale fingers casually pushed the cup aside and picked up a piece of pastry instead. The bright lamp lit by the crystal flickered, reflecting the person's shadow on the ground, where the slender and graceful figure appeared and disappeared.

With delicate, orchid-like fingers, she gently pinched the pastry. Her red lips parted slightly, and she uttered a seductive voice, "Young master, it feels like three autumns have passed since we last met. I have missed you terribly."

Through the candlelight, Li Jiang slowly opened her eyes and said coldly, "What did you do to me?"

His brows were furrowed, and his fingertips were white from exerting too much force; he was completely immobilized.

Yan Luo smiled and said, "It was just a freezing spell."

Unable to move, Li Jiang glanced at Jun Yan's sword beside her and said coldly, "What do you want?"

Yan Luo stood up, walked to him, and gently stroked his face with her fingers, which were even whiter than the moonlight. With her other hand, she held a pastry to his lips and said, "Take a bite."

Although Li Jiang was being controlled, he remained calm and straight-backed. Faced with Yan Luo's teasing coercion, he only glanced at her lightly before closing his eyes again, preferring not to see her.

Yanluo wasn't angry. Instead, she twisted her wrist and put the pastry into her mouth. The pastry was soft and glutinous, and it melted in no time, leaving only a lingering fragrance in the air.

After a moment, she said lightly, "So calm, aren't you afraid I'll kill you?"

Li Jiang remained calm and composed. "If you wanted to kill, you would have done it long ago. Why wait until now?"

Yanluo: "Perhaps it's like boiling a frog in lukewarm water?"

Li Jiang said, "Then please hurry up and don't waste time."

Yan Luo chuckled softly, twirling a strand of his dark hair between her fingers. "I didn't realize you were so humorous."

The two stood very close, like a young couple playfully teasing each other. Yan Luo leaned down and whispered in his ear, "I like you even more like this."

Li Jiang suddenly opened her eyes, her gaze filled with surprise and anger.

That voice, so alluring and enchanting, lingered in his ears, making it unforgettable for him.

"Were you the one who drugged me at Apocalypse Academy that night?"
