Birds in a cage
Huang Fuda looked at the pile of messages; the most recent one was posted an hour ago. This kid was perfectly calm before, but after sleeping like that last night, he started acting up again. He can't stand even the slightest provocation; he'll jump on any bandwagon.
If he weren't General Wu's son, if he were more sensible and didn't have so many demands, and if he could truly stand up like a human being, Huang Fuda would also be willing to keep him by his side. He'd been cold and distant for so many years; it would be a lie to say he felt nothing when such a ball of fire suddenly appeared beside him.
If she really had no feelings for him, she wouldn't have gone to the extreme of bringing her bed partner to the company, cooking for him, and shielding him from drinking. She would have indulged him more than punished him for his repeated transgressions. None of her subordinates received this kind of treatment.
He really didn't like what that kid was doing. He'd been at the bottom for too long; his back was bent, his knees were worn out, and he'd finally managed to stand up again. He just couldn't stand seeing someone kneel so easily.
If you find it unsuitable after the first taste, you should break it off more decisively. You shouldn't keep it by your side just because you're soft-hearted or because of a face that suits your taste.
We went the wrong way from the very beginning.
Fortunately, he wasn't far off; he set Fang Chuan to Do Not Disturb mode and exited to continue looking for Bao Rongxiang.
"Mr. Bao, it's been a long time! When are you free? I'd like to treat you to a drink."
Come on, let's boost our voices! (8188)
Huang Fuda immediately sat up in bed.
His legs ached from standing all day, and his head felt a little feverish, but he didn't care about any of that. He quickly called the driver over and changed his clothes.
I've been too busy lately to take the driver's license test. I need to find some time to do it, otherwise I'll always have to wait for the driver.
After changing his clothes, the driver still hadn't arrived, so he decided not to wait any longer. He grabbed a bottle of wine, hailed a taxi, and set off.
Sheng Sheng is a high-end club. Huang Fuda gave Bao Rongxiang's name and was led by a waiter to room 8188.
Pushing open the door, a deafening roar assaulted my ears. A man was holding a microphone and yelling off-key, while the dozen or so other people gathered inside were drunkenly cheering and laughing.
The one howling was Bao Rongxiang, a middle-aged man with bronze skin and a strong physique. At this moment, he had a bright and cool beauty beside him.
Upon seeing him arrive, Bao Rongxiang took the microphone and walked step by step towards Huang Fuda, singing a heartfelt yet awful song. When the song ended, the entire audience cheered. He put his arm around Huang Fuda's shoulder, sat down in the main seat on the sofa, and loudly introduced him to everyone: "This is Young Master Huang, the owner of Yundao."
Huang Fuda looked around at the group of people; some he recognized, some he didn't, and most of them had friends with them. He exchanged brief greetings and settled comfortably next to Bao Rongxiang.
Bao Rongxiang pointed to the boy in the corner and told him to come over: "Go and keep your Young Master Huang company." As he spoke, he pinched the boy's butt.
He looked at Huang Fuda and smiled knowingly: "Compared to Young Master Huang, he's really not that good, but this one is very well-behaved."
People around Huang Fuda looked at him. Comparing him to a prostitute would make anyone angry, but Huang Fuda wasn't.
"Thank you, Mr. Bao, for remembering my preferences." Huang Fuda put his arm around the boy and took a sip of wine from the boy's hand. It was spicy and burned from the tip of his tongue all the way to his stomach.
With so many people around, Huang Fuda couldn't just ask Bao Rongxiang for a favor right away, so he just smiled and drank one cup after another. He watched as Bao Rongxiang poured the wine onto the chest of the woman next to him, licking it off bit by bit. After finishing, he took his hand out from under her skirt, smiling as he spread his fingers to show the people around him the sticky silver threads. After that, he rubbed his hand to the woman's mouth and made her lick it clean.
Bao Rongxiang, having a good time, turned to look at Huang Fuda. With his hand still smeared with a woman's lipstick, he pointed at Huang Fuda's tightly buttoned shirt collar.
"Young Master Huang, everyone's here to have fun, why are you dressed so formally? It's not like we're discussing work, unbutton your shirt and relax."
Huang Fuda responded with a smile, "It is a bit hot."
He was still figuring out how to start the conversation when a hand with lipstick marks reached out to his chest and unbuttoned another one without giving him a chance to resist. After unbuttoning it, the hand even pulled his shirt aside.
Huang Fuda frowned almost imperceptibly and looked up at him, only to see Bao Rongxiang stroking his chin and staring at his chest with a smile: "No wonder Young Master Huang couldn't have fun today, it turns out you ate a lot before coming here."
Huang Fuda forced a smile and said, "I'm going to the restroom." He stood up and went out the door; it was too stuffy, he needed to catch his breath.
After he left, a man sitting not far from Bao Rongxiang smiled enigmatically: "Old Bao, you even touched Young Master Yun's?"
“He doesn’t need me, and besides, I have no intention of doing that. I’m just taking a look.” Bao Rongxiang’s hand touched the woman’s breast next to him, and he sensed something was wrong. He then pulled the boy who had just pushed Huang Fuda over, reached in and tentatively compared his chest with the boy’s, and said, “Yours is too small.”
Huang Fuda took a stroll outside to calm himself down, put on a smile, and then pushed the door open and went back inside.
Ignoring the stares of those around him, he sat back down, put his arm around the boy's waist, and accepted the food being fed. The boy's hands trembled, and the wine spilled from Huang Fuda's mouth onto his chest, soaking a large area.
He took the paper from the boy and, amidst the laughing gazes of those around him, wiped the wine clean.
After Bao Rongxiang had seen enough, he leaned close to Huang Fuda's ear and whispered, "I know why you're here, and I can help you. But Young Master Yun isn't giving his approval, so I can't do much. I'll have my men send you the truck driver's identity information, as well as where his parents are. The rest is up to you; I can't interfere anymore."
"Thank you, Mr. Bao. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything in the future. I'll ask you to help me again tomorrow..."
Before Huang Fuda could finish speaking, Bao Rongxiang interrupted him: "It's nothing, no need to trouble yourself, it's just a small matter, and besides, I'm not at a loss." His eyes were fixed on Huang Fuda's open chest, with a hidden meaning.
After saying that, he patted Huang Fuda on the back like an older brother: "You've been busy all day, go home if you have nothing else to do."
Once Bao Rongxiang's assistant sent him the information, he immediately told Xiao Zhang to go check on the truck driver's house. Xiao Zhang inquired with the neighbors and learned that no one had been going in or out of the house for several days.
Xiao Zhang cursed under his breath, took out tools from his pocket, and began to pry open the door. He breathed a sigh of relief when he found the furniture was all there, but after a careful search, he found nothing.
Huang Fuda wasn't in a hurry after hearing the news. He told the driver to go to his parents' residence, while he went to the police station.
This afternoon, the truck driver will be summoned again. He waited at the entrance of the police station, the only place he could pass through. As soon as the truck driver came out, he immediately pressed down on his neck and forcibly shoved him into the truck.
He locked the car doors and calmly watched the trembling driver.
“I am a law-abiding citizen and I don’t do kidnapping or extortion. You don’t need to be afraid. I just want to ask you a few questions. Please tell me the truth.”
The driver relaxed and said, "I've told the police everything I needed to say. I don't know anything else, so please don't ask."
"Judging from the video, your parents must be quite old. Judging from their accents, they're from Jiangbei?" Huang Fuda clicked on a video, which contained the voices of two elderly people.
Upon hearing this, the driver snatched the phone, looked at the parents in the video, widened his eyes, and pointed at Huang Fuda: "You, you, didn't you say you were a law-abiding citizen? How could you do this!"
"What did I do?" Huang Fuda took back his phone and smiled gently at him.
"I was just visiting your home, what law did I break?"
The driver cried, tears and snot streaming down his face: "Don't force me anymore."
Who's trying to force you? I'm the one with the knife to my head right now.
Huang Fuda thoughtfully pulled out a few tissues to wipe his tears, and coaxed him, "I didn't force you, it's just that maybe someone made you do something, but you've forgotten. Think about it carefully again."
"No, really."
Huang Fuda didn't say anything, he just played the video over and over again.
The man listened to the video and cried for a long time. After he finished crying, he started pounding on the car door: "Let me out of the car!"
Huang Fuda remained unmoved.
The man continued hammering, and the car began to shake.
Huang Fuda was driving that black and white striped car today, and now, as it swayed, it stood out conspicuously from a distance.
The police station was near Fang Chuan's school. Fang Chuan drove out of the school and headed towards his apartment, and happened to run into the police station.
Fang Chuan had been sending Huang Fuda a lot of messages lately, but hadn't received a single reply, which was already troubling him. Huang Fuda had a history of misconduct in his mind, and seeing this, he immediately assumed Huang was messing around with someone else again. He instantly flew into a rage.
He got out of his car and walked to the back seat of the other car. The windows were covered with one-way film, so you couldn't see inside from the outside. He then banged on the windows.
He patted it, and the movement inside became even more vigorous.
Huang Fuda looked at him through the window, then at the driver whose movements were becoming increasingly exaggerated, and frowned.
Seeing that the people in the car were ignoring him, Fang Chuan smiled and went straight to the police station to ask the person on duty at the entrance.
"That illicit couple in that ugly car is causing such a scene in front of the police station. Aren't they going to do anything about it? This is near a university, how indecent!"
Upon inspection, the on-duty police officer realized that the behavior was indeed indecent, so he went to the car himself, bent down, and knocked on the door.
The truck driver was overjoyed to see the police arrive, almost bursting into tears. Huang Fuda had no choice but to roll down the window and let the police recognize his face. The older officers at the station all knew about his relationship with Director Yang, but unfortunately, this was a newcomer.
"Comrade, you recognize me, right? I'm just stopping for a short while, I'll be leaving soon."
"I don't care who you are, just drive the car away right now."
The truck driver, however, seemed to have encountered a savior and grabbed the policeman's arm, refusing to let go: "Comrade, policeman, he won't let me get out of the truck, please help me!"
The young policeman exploded: "How dare you call me your uncle? You're old enough to be my father!"
The driver and the police left one after another, and Fang Chuan looked at Huang Fuda, whose face had turned black.
I think I've messed up again.
Huang Fuda took a deep breath.
"Fang Chuan, what else can you do besides causing me trouble?"
"I…"
"I'm already exhausted. I don't have time to play house with you. You can't give me anything emotionally, you can't satisfy me physically, and you can't support me in my career. You're always around me. You're free, but I'm not. I just want to finish all this and get some rest. Can you please stop bothering me?"
Fang Chuan felt a tightness in his chest as he listened to these words. He could change his ways in bed, but Huang Fuda couldn't find someone else. He was also slowly learning about the company's affairs, and he could help Huang Fuda make Yundao even better. But Huang Fuda still wanted a relationship.
"What kind of feelings do you want? If I say I like you and want to be with you, is that okay?"
"Fang Chuan, what I want is a home, I want a family, even just one. Can you really give that to me? Even if you can, will President Wu allow it?"
A home? But Mr. Huang, I don't even have a proper home myself.
He was like a bird trapped in a cage. As a child, he was forced to learn human ways, and as an adult, he was forced to pretend to be blind. After finally graduating from high school, he wanted to leave the province, but his father changed his application and assigned him to his own department. The greatest effort he made was transferring from the Computer Science Department to the Humanities Department in his sophomore year and moving out.
He had always been well-behaved, silently ignoring the things that shouldn't exist around him, telling himself they were all normal. But after entering university, he discovered that all those false walls he had built had crumbled. The people outside those walls weren't like that at all.
He dared not resist, drifting in and out of his mind, indulging in fleeting pleasures. But then he unexpectedly encountered Huang Fuda.
Huang Fuda is truly different. He is hypocritical and vulgar, yet his goals are clear. He is both ruthless and compassionate, a thorn in his own heart but gentle to outsiders. He has his own code of conduct, which he does not easily waver in, even when it is wrong.
It's nothing like me.
Fang Chuan couldn't resist getting closer to him, and did outrageous things several times. He couldn't control his emotions, always fluctuating between joy and sorrow. He gradually went mad.
Fang Chuan felt a sudden urge to cry. He realized that he was still being held in the hands of that "home" and couldn't escape the cage.
"You've only been giving me the nicer look lately because you know General Wu is my mother, not because you've truly forgiven me, right?"
Huang Fuda did not answer.
"I'm not bothering you anymore."
Fang Chuan turned and left, the first time he had ever shown his back to his boss, Mr. Huang. Huang Fuda watched Fang Chuan's retreating figure, but felt even more exhausted. He leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes, and a taut string snapped. The discomfort he had felt after being caught in the rain a few days earlier finally broke, and Huang Fuda developed a high fever that very night.
