I have something important to discuss with you.

Yu Xiangyang studied accounting and finance, and her current position is as the secretary to the finance department manager. After signing the contract, Yu Xiangyang actively stayed on to begin learning.

Fang's mother hasn't been home lately. When Fang Chuan arrived, she sent him a message asking him to wait for her in her office for a while.

After greeting Yu Xiangyang, Fang Chuan headed towards his mother's office. On the way, he encountered someone reprimanding a subordinate.

"I put you in charge of overseeing the building materials! You didn't even know the market price, and you spent so much money buying them. Do you think the boss is a sucker? What are you good at as a purchasing agent?"

Fang Chuan twirled his car keys in his hand and strolled over. "What's wrong? Why are you so angry?"

When the manager saw that it was Fang Chuan, he immediately lowered his voice and his face became friendly.

"Oh, it's Xiaochuan. It's nothing. He's been building things on Yun Island lately, and the things he bought were a bit expensive. He's worried about how to explain it to them."

Yundao? Fang Chuan's eyes darted around, and he asked, "Is it the bathhouse that Yundao wants to build?"

"It's that one."

"Oh... okay. Don't get so angry, it won't do any good." Fang Chuan smiled and comforted the manager for a couple of minutes before continuing his stroll toward the office.

What a coincidence! The last time I ran into his mother at the music store was because of the contract signing.

Fang Chuan was still shaken. Luckily, he wasn't inside at the time, or he would definitely have been caught red-handed.

He pushed open the office door, but no one was there. Fang Chuan sat in his mother's chair, rummaging through the files on the desk, trying to find anything related to Yun Island, but he couldn't find anything.

Fang Chuan gave up and got up to get a paper cup from the water dispenser to fill with water. Just then, Fang's mother came in, followed by the manager from before. Fang's mother gestured for Fang Chuan to find a place to sit on the sofa, and then began to talk to the manager.

"President Wu, the price we paid is 20% higher than the market price. Yun Island also makes purchases, and they definitely know the normal price. They can't possibly agree to this." The manager stood in front of Fang's mother's desk, looking worried.

"Then what do you mean, are you telling me to beg Huang Fuda to swallow this insult?" Fang's mother held the purchase order in her hand and stared calmly at the manager.

The manager broke out in a cold sweat after hearing this and hurriedly said, "Mr. Wu, that's not what I meant."

"Then go think of a solution. Why are you crying here? Whether you cry or not, the responsibility is yours. But if you can get them to accept this price, I won't hold it against them this time." Fang's mother handed the purchase order back to the manager and waved him out.

Seeing the manager leave, Fang Chuan sidled up to his mother, leaned on the table, tilted his head, and asked, "So angry?"

"Why should I be angry? I was just trying to scare him. He's the one who should be worried."

"General Wu is awesome!" Fang Chuan said with a smile.

"You're such a smooth talker." Fang's mother looked at him indulgently and continued, "Yu Xiangyang is here?"

Fang Chuan stood up, pulled a stool from the side, and sat down next to his mother. "He's here. He just started his onboarding and is already working. I guessed you didn't want to see him, so I didn't bring him along."

"Okay, I'm going home tonight, we'll talk about it then."

Fang Chuan picked up a document and glanced at it, then casually remarked, "That manager wants to arrange a meeting with the people from Yun Island, I'd love to know how he'll handle it."

"That person is cunning; he must have had this idea for a while. He just came to me this time to cry and put on an act."

Fang Chuan put down the document and picked up another one, flipping through it casually: "Really? Can I come along and take a look?"

Fang's mother smiled at him and said, "Go if you want to. I haven't asked you yet, how was your trip last time?"

Fang Chuan paused in flipping through the documents, looked up at his mother, and asked somewhat awkwardly, "Mom, how did you know I went out to play?"

"Did you take any photos? Show them to your mother." Fang's mother changed the subject and continued.

Fang Chuan took out his phone, opened the photo album, showed her the photos, and didn't ask any more questions.

"Send these, this one... and these few more to Mom." Fang's mother swiped across the screen, stopping at a video, and laughed, "Wow, our Xiao Chuan can climb trees now."

In the video, Fang Chuan struggles to climb an ancient tree, only to slip and fall repeatedly. Then, a gentle adult male voice comes from the screen: "Fang Chuan, stop climbing."

"Xiao Chuan, is this a classmate?" Fang's mother asked upon hearing the voice.

Fang Chuan's heart clenched instantly.

"They're friends from the band..."

Fang Chuan smiled, but his palms were sweating. He only felt relieved when he saw that his mother didn't ask any more questions.

After leaving Fang's mother's office, Fang Chuan inquired as he walked toward the manager's office.

Knock on the door.

"Enter."

Pushing open the door, Fang Chuan smiled kindly and said, "Uncle, my mother asked me to learn from you about this matter with Yun Island. When are you going to make contact with them? I'd like to go with you."

The manager quickly stood up and put his arm around Fang Chuan's arm: "Our Xiao Chuan is finally going to be involved in the company's business. President Wu must be very happy."

Fang Chuan just smiled.

"You've come at the right time. I'm heading to Yun Island at 3 p.m. today. You should take a good nap at noon, and we'll set off at 2:30 p.m."

Fang Chuan stepped aside, letting his arm pass him, and faced the manager directly. He asked, "Uncle, I'd like to look at the relevant documents first, so I have a better understanding."

The manager agreed, then turned around and pulled out two documents, handing them to Fang Chuan.

"Uncle, is this all?" Fang Chuan looked at the thin piece of paper in his hand.

“There are others, but you haven’t encountered them before, so take a look at these first.”

"Manager Wang," Fang Chuan said with a smile, "I've never dealt with this before, so I'd like to take a look. Could you please get it for me?"

When Manager Wang heard that Fang Chuan's tone had changed, he turned around and took out four or five thick folders, which he then handed to Fang Chuan.

Fang Chuan took all of these and found an empty meeting room to start reading.

He didn't quite understand it, but he wasn't completely clueless. Fang Chuan searched on his phone and guessed at the same time, without even having lunch, and stayed in the conference room until 2 p.m.

He stood up, stretched, picked up the stack of documents, and carried them back to Manager Wang's office. Seeing Manager Wang there, he casually asked a few more questions he hadn't understood, which Manager Wang answered one by one, praising Fang Chuan's eagerness to learn with a smile.

Fang Chuan didn't hold his perfunctory behavior in the morning against his will, and the two of them walked amicably to the coffee shop downstairs from the Cloud Island headquarters.

Fang Chuan stood there, feeling inexplicably at ease. You didn't want to have anything to do with me, but life is so unpredictable; the things you least want always seem to come your way.

I, Fang Chuan, am not trying to pester you. It's just that it's my own company's business, and it's normal for me to get familiar with it.

The thought of officially meeting Huang Fuda later filled Fang Chuan with smugness. He raised his chin and followed Manager Wang into the coffee shop.

He sat next to Manager Wang, leisurely sipping his coffee, his eyes occasionally glancing out the window, waiting for someone.

Soon after, people from Yundao arrived, but Huang Fuda was not there; it was Assistant Li and the Marketing Manager.

Fang Chuan's gaze swept over the two of them several times before turning back to look at the entrance of the coffee shop.

He didn't come?!

The two from Yundao were also going back and forth between Manager Wang and Fang Chuan.

Why is he here?

Only Manager Wang was all smiles, completely unaware of the undercurrents of emotion swirling within the others. He took the lead in introducing them: "Assistant Li, we've met before. This is my secretary, Fang Chuan."

Secretary Li looked at Fang Chuan, but addressed Manager Wang: "It's been a long time. This is Manager Lu from Yundao's marketing department."

The group shook hands, sat down, and began discussing the prices of building materials.

Yundao and the other man didn't act as if they knew Fang Chuan, and Fang Chuan pretended not to know them either, and wasn't listening to their conversation at all. Fang Chuan's thoughts had already drifted out of the coffee shop and into Huang Fuda's office.

During the conversation, Fang Chuan was merely a prop, which Manager Wang observed, thinking to himself that he was still too young.

After the conversation ended, Fang Chuan casually made up an excuse and didn't leave with Manager Wang. Instead, he went upstairs as if he knew the way well.

Fang Chuan had important business to attend to, not just to meet anyone. He hadn't discussed the trial voucher with Yundao yet; after all, it was his former employer, and he couldn't just stand by and watch his old boss get stabbed in the back.

Fang Chuan walked to Huang Fuda's office, knocked on the door, but no one answered. Just as he was about to push the door open, Assistant Li happened to pass by. Fang Chuan naturally lowered his hand and smiled at Assistant Li.

Assistant Li stopped in front of him, without asking why he came up, and only said: "The boss is in a meeting and won't be here for another 15 minutes. You can go to the break room and wait for him."

Fang Chuan smiled and thanked him. After Assistant Li left, he pushed open the door to Huang Fuda's office, went in, and skillfully found the most comfortable spot on the sofa to sit down.

You asked why I didn't tell Assistant Li about the trial vouchers?

What do you know? Of course, we should talk to the person in charge about serious matters.

He clutched the two cards, crossed his legs, and leaned back on the sofa, tapping his feet rhythmically.

As soon as Huang Fuda entered the office, he saw Fang Chuan looking so content.

He closed the door and walked a few steps away from Fang Chuan: "Why are you here?"

"I have something important to discuss with you." Fang Chuan raised his chin to look at him.

Huang Fuda raised an eyebrow after hearing this and sat down opposite Fang Chuan. "What is it?"

Fang Chuan placed the Yunquanhui experience voucher on the coffee table between the two of them, rested his arm on his knee to support his face, and looked up at his boss, Mr. Huang, with a smile.

“I drew a ticket while eating yesterday, bought it for a dollar, and then someone handed it to me on the street.” Fang Chuan’s eyes darted across Huang Fuda’s face: “Why are so many people messing with you?”

“We’ve already discussed this internally,” Huang Fuda said, looking at Fang Chuan’s eager face, “but thank you anyway.”

"Just don't barge in uninvited next time."

Fang Chuan's smile froze on his face, and his ears began to turn red, which then spread to his face. He sat up straight, covered his face with the hand that was supporting his chin, and mumbled an "okay."

Seeing this, Huang Fuda smiled gently, and couldn't help but want to pat Fang Chuan's head, but he pulled his hand back halfway.

Would you like something to drink?

"I already had a full meal at the coffee shop..." Fang Chuan lifted his face from his hands, looked at Huang Fuda's smiling face, and said, "I didn't eat lunch."

“Huang Fuda, I’m hungry,” he emphasized again.

"Then let's go eat."

"I didn't eat because of you."

"Um?"

“I work at Tiancheng Construction. Because of that batch of building materials, my boss asked me to organize documents in the morning. I wasn’t even allowed to rest at noon. I worked until 2 p.m., and then I was dragged over here to talk to you.” Fang Chuan became more and more pitiful as he spoke, and he was almost in tears.

"I just drank a cup of coffee downstairs..." He drooped his eyebrows, his eyes full of grievance.

Huang Fuda said helplessly, "I'll treat you to dinner another day."

"Will I have to starve until another day...? Which day? Let me calculate whether I can live until then." Fang Chuan stretched out his hand, waiting for Huang Fuda to say a number, and then he would count on his fingers.

“…I don’t have time to mess around with you right now. Go grab something to eat first, and I’ll take you there tomorrow at noon.” Huang Fuda got up and returned to his office chair, then continued, “Your job is pretty easy, huh? You still have time to leave your post for so long.”

Fang Chuan walked to his desk and carefully observed how seriously Mr. Huang was working: "I'm an intern, and this afternoon, I'm here at Yundao just for this one thing."

His eyes darted from Huang Fuda's face to his collar, and he said quietly, "Aren't you hot with your collar buttoned up so tightly?"

"It's not hot." He looked up. "Is there anything else? If not, you can go back."

“You shouldn’t be wearing this shirt with your suit. I’ll bring you one next time as compensation for losing that jacket.” Fang Chuan rubbed his fingertips together, then smiled at Huang Fuda and left the office, thinking about Boss Huang’s collar as he walked.

This is really bad.
