Opening gifts

Opening gifts

Fang Chuan had a knife stuck in his back.

The glaring blood caught Huang Fuda's eye. He rushed over, knelt on the ground, and pressed on the wound on Fang Chuan's back. Fortunately, there was an emergency room doctor present, so Huang Fuda was replaced.

He kept calling Fang Chuan's name in his ear. Fang Chuan heard him, his eyes slowly turned to Huang Fuda, and he tried to give him a smile, but blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.

Huang Fuda's hands began to tremble uncontrollably instantly; he dared not look at Fang Chuan's appearance.

He raised his head, looking at the culprit, his face revealing a ferocity he himself hadn't even realized. Lin Fengxiao, pinned to the ground by those around him, smiled calmly at Huang Fuda.

"Honey, do you like the opening gift I gave you?"

"You're insane!"

Lin Fengxiao dropped his amiable demeanor and said quietly, "He made me unable to live, so I'll make him unable to live either."

Not wanting to see that hypocritical face, which only made him more disgusted, Huang Fuda wiped the blood from Fang Chuan's mouth and continued to whisper in Fang Chuan's ear.

The hospital was right next door, and the ambulance arrived in less than 10 minutes. Huang Fuda left Lin Fengxiao aside and got into the ambulance first.

Fang Chuan was already unconscious and was immediately taken to the operating table after arriving at the hospital.

The knife was inserted diagonally to the left from beside the shoulder blade, hitting the heart. The patient was critically ill and underwent repeated stabs, requiring multiple blood bags to be delivered.

Huang Fuda's hands and feet were cold, and his legs were too weak to stand up. He couldn't even hear his assistant speaking in his ear. Fang Chuan couldn't die. If he died, no one in this world would care about him anymore. He would be all alone. This world is so big, so very big, and he would be all alone, all by himself. Damn God, why did He have to take everyone away?

The police station is gone, Xiaofeng's home is gone, the Yun family is gone, Chuandu's home is gone, and now even this home, which isn't really a home, is going to be taken away. I'm guilty, so I haven't lived a single day of happiness. I'm a curse; everyone who's associated with me has met with bad luck. I'm the one who ruined them.

The red light outside the operating room remained on. Huang Fuda sat stiffly at the door, surrounded by several different people. Four whole hours had passed, a time that felt like an eternity for Huang Fuda.

When the light turned green, Huang Fuda immediately stood up, but his legs gave way and he knelt on the ground after taking only one step. His assistant helped him up, and he stumbled towards the door.

Fang Chuan's face was completely pale, and he was still unconscious. Huang Fuda only had time to touch his face and say a few words before Fang Chuan was wheeled into the ICU.

The doctor told him that Fang Chuan was only temporarily out of danger, his vital signs were unstable, and he needed to be hospitalized for observation. In addition, his family members were asked to come and take care of the follow-up matters as soon as possible.

"Am I not good enough?"

What is your relationship with the patient?

"………friend."

The doctor shook his head.

Huang Fuda paused for a moment, then said, "A romantic relationship."

Does he still have any relatives?

"Yes, his mother is here."

"Then call the patient's mother."

Huang Fuda held Fang Chuan's phone, unsure whether to call. It wasn't that he absolutely needed President Wu to come, but President Wu had the right to know. Then he thought again, President Wu probably already knew; there was no need for him to tell her. Sure enough, President Wu arrived in the afternoon. She looked exactly the same as before, unchanged.

Through the hospital room window, she could see her only son, whose fate was now unknown. She didn't ask how Huang Fuda and Fang Chuan had gotten together, but only asked Huang Fuda, "Has Xiao Chuan woken up?"

"not yet."

Fang Chuan woke up that night. Only one person was allowed in the ward at a time, and it wasn't Huang Fuda who went in. He stood outside the door, watching Fang Chuan talk to General Wu, but he didn't say much. After General Wu came out, Huang Fuda followed him in. Fang Chuan smiled when he saw him.

Fang Chuan was still wearing a ventilator, his breathing was weak, but his eyes were extremely gentle.

"Boss, you scared me to death."

"You scared me to death."

"Come closer," Fang Chuan said weakly.

After Huang Fuda walked to the bedside, Fang Chuan tried to raise his hand to touch him, but he had no strength. His long fingers stretched out again and again, but he just couldn't reach him. Huang Fuda's heart was breaking.

He gently held Fang Chuan's fingers and asked him how he felt and if it hurt.

But Fang Chuan asked, "Huang Fuda, if I die, will you come with me?"

"Won't."

Fang Chuan smiled and said softly, "That's why I can't die. If I die, no one will protect you. You owe the company tens of millions in debt, and those old bastards will eat you alive..."

A few words exhausted Fang Chuan, and he closed his eyes and fell into a coma again, leaving Huang Fuda alone to hold his hand and whisper softly to him.

Huang Fuda went to the police station, learned about the progress of the case, and then went to see Lin Fengxiao.

Lin Fengxiao said calmly, "Chenchen was taken away by his maternal grandmother, and I can no longer be a doctor. They are also suing me, saying it's intentional homicide and drug trafficking. Fang Chuan did all this behind the scenes. Do you think he deserves to die?"

"You deserve it."

Huang Fuda's feelings for him were completely wiped out by this knife. Looking at him, he only felt hatred. Even if the knife had been stuck in Huang Fuda's own body, he wouldn't have been this angry. But he wanted to kill Fang Chuan, which would make Huang Fuda feel guilty for the rest of his life.

Lin Fengxiao laughed and asked again, "He's dead, right? I deliberately chose an angle to stab him in the heart."

The stool scraped against the floor with a harsh sound. Under the pale light, Huang Fuda, a towering figure, bent down and approached Lin Fengxiao, his shadow completely enveloping him. He said in a deep voice, "He's alive and well. It's you who won't live much longer."

Fang Chuan was not yet completely out of danger, and the other shareholders in the company were also getting restless. Huang Fuda couldn't interfere in the company's affairs; he could only ensure that the hotel remained firmly in his hands.

He went about his work as usual, but whenever Huang Fuda appeared, the employees would fall silent. Huang Fuda remained calm, and after finishing the necessary tasks, he would go to the hospital, even if he could only stay at the entrance.

Fang Chuan's periods of wakefulness became increasingly longer. After a week in the ICU, he was transferred to a private hospital. Upon arriving there, he immediately consulted with his trusted confidants, and after a few days, the other shareholders quieted down.

Seeing that his spirits were getting better and better, Huang Fuda felt relieved and visibly reduced the time he spent going to the hospital.

Fang Chuan was not satisfied.

He was weak, gasping for breath after each sentence, coughing lightly a few times, as he accused the belatedly arriving Huang Fuda: "I woke up to see you, cough cough... but I didn't see you. Why, why weren't you here with me..."

Huang Fuda placed the lunchbox on the small table, took some water and fed it to Fang Chuan. "The hotel just opened, and there's been a lot of work going on. There's also been some problems with the upstream of that product line. Things will be fine after these next couple of days."

Fang Chuan took a small sip and continued his accusations.

“You never came once when I was hospitalized before, why aren’t you here again this time?”

“I’ve been outside your ward every day for the past few days, but you’ve only been awake for a short time.” Huang Fuda gently wiped the water from his mouth, then opened the lunchbox, each dish more bland than the last.

"It wasn't this time, it was after the flood, you just dumped me in the hospital and ran away." Fang Chuan became more and more aggrieved as he spoke, and looked at the dishes and felt even more upset. "Why are they so bland again? I want to eat something spicy."

Huang Fuda picked up his chopsticks and said calmly, "Even if you look carefully, you won't find this one."

"Then I want you to feed me."

Huang Fuda sighed, "I used to feed you, but now you're having trouble even holding chopsticks." As he spoke, he picked up a small piece of food and fed it to Fang Chuan.

"Boss," Fang Chuan said pitifully, his face pale, "I can't chew it. You chew it and feed it to me."

Huang Fuda paused, then deftly withdrew his hand and said, "If you can't chew it, I'll mash it into a paste and feed it to you. You can choose."

Fang Chuan's expression grew even more desperate, his eyes glistening with tears, on the verge of falling again. Helpless, Huang Fuda scooped up a spoonful of soup, tested the temperature with his own mouth first, and then held it to Fang Chuan's lips, coaxing, "Sweetie, this is soup I've been simmering for 5 hours, have a taste."

Fang Chuan stared intently at Huang Fuda, opened his mouth and drank the soup, saying he wanted more, but not only more, but Huang Fuda had to taste it for him first. After tasting it several times, Huang Fuda simply put down the bowl, leaned down and gently kissed Fang Chuan.

Fang Chuan was satisfied, and his appetite was whetted.

"Eat more and get better soon. Those two at home miss you."

Don't you miss me at night?

"You wouldn't let me stay with you at the hospital, would you?" Huang Fuda wiped Fang Chuan's mouth again, then picked up a piece of fish and fed it to Fang Chuan.

Fang Chuan swallowed the meat, then touched Huang Fuda's face, gently stroking his eyes with his thumb, and said with heartache, "I can't bear to see you sleep here. You already can't sleep well, and look, you have dark circles under your eyes again."

Huang Fuda took his hand and gently shook it.

"Anything you can do to get out of bed quickly is fine."

The meal was quite greasy; the caregiver passed by the door again and again, but finally sat down on the bench in the corridor. After finishing the meal, Fang Chuan wouldn't let him leave, insisting that Huang Fuda carry him.

"It will touch the wound."

Fang Chuan slightly opened his arms and said, "Then I'll hug you, just for a moment."

Huang Fuda leaned down, gently touched the blanket, and then pressed his face against Fang Chuan's. Fang Chuan, with the IV needle still in his hand, placed it on Huang Fuda's broad back, finally satisfied.

“I’m so afraid I won’t be able to come back. In my dreams, someone always tries to take me away. When I say I won’t go, he takes a knife and stabs it into my heart. It hurts so much.”

"Fang Chuan, I'm sorry, it's all because of me."

"So you have to compensate me." Fang Chuan squinted. "The Lin family's lawsuit is still missing some crucial evidence. You need to go and testify."

"good."

Fang Chuan lied to him; he didn't need it at all. He just wanted Huang Fuda to personally send Lin Fengxiao in.

This accident also made him realize something: he couldn't let Huang Fuda carry such a huge debt. If he really passed away early, Huang Fuda's life would be even more difficult. He told Huang Fuda about this, but Huang Fuda still refused to take his hotel for free.

"How about this? I'll give you the money, and you can use it to pay back the company. From now on, it'll be considered that you owe me money."

Huang Fuda refused.

This is practically the same as giving it away for free.

He looked up and said, "If you're really that scared, why don't you give me some more shares?"

Fang Chuan closed his eyes, remained silent for a long time, and then said, "I'm sleepy. Let me think about it some more, and I'll give you an answer tomorrow."

"Okay. You go to sleep first." Huang Fuda stood up, dressed in a neat and proper suit, which seemed out of place in the hospital. He tucked the blanket around Fang Chuan a little more tightly, and then Fang Chuan grabbed his hand.

Fang Chuan didn't open his eyes, but said softly, "If you were to leave first, I would definitely go with you. Huang Fuda, I don't want to be separated from you again. Also, I regret it. Two years isn't enough, I want a lifetime. I don't want to be friends with you anymore. Do you even understand?"

"I understand."

"Can you promise you won't leave me?"

Huang Fuda fell silent.

A lifetime is so long, how can one guarantee anything? But at least for now, Huang Fuda doesn't want to leave.

He slowly opened his mouth, about to speak, but Fang Chuan had waited long enough. He closed his eyes, let go of his hand, and said disappointedly, "Go back, let me think about it some more."

Huang Fuda held his empty hand, turned and walked towards the door. Just before leaving, he turned back and said, "Fang Chuan, a lifetime is too long, I can't guarantee it. I only care about the present. I don't want to leave now. I have to stay with you. I'm worried about you always getting hurt."
