Chapter 110 Ji Heguang is injured

Chapter 110 Ji Heguang is injured

Two days after his wife left home, Ji Hefeng regretted not going back to Xiaonan Village with her.

The six children were incredibly noisy, staying up all night and making Ji Hefeng toss them around to play with. If Ji Hefeng hadn't been so physically strong, he probably would have been exhausted by the children.

On the third night, Ji Hefeng heard the sound of a truck. He immediately opened his eyes, put on his clothes, and hurriedly went outside.

Ji Hefeng passed by Mo An's courtyard, thought for a moment, and went to wake Mo An up, saying, "Big sister and the others have arrived."

After saying that, he strode away without giving Mo An time to react.

Ji Hefeng kept the lights on all the way, and when they arrived in the courtyard, they saw Molly helping a middle-aged woman out of the car.

"Auntie must be exhausted from the journey," Ji Hefeng asked.

Li Xiaoju couldn't remember what Ji Hefeng looked like. Looking at the tall man, she felt inexplicably afraid and shook her head. "I'm not tired. Molly drove for two days. She's the one who's tired."

Molly turned to look at Ji Hefeng, then turned back to pick up her niece and hand her to Li Xiaoju before helping Mo He up.

"Big sister—"

Mo An arrived at this moment.

When Mo He saw Mo An, tears welled up in her eyes again, and Molly quickly comforted her, "Don't cry."

"Xiao An, we're hungry. Go cook some noodles. I'll take my older sister and aunt to put their luggage away first."

"Okay, second sister, I'll go right away." Mo An ran towards the kitchen again.

"Which bags are the luggage? I'll carry them," Ji Hefeng said.

Molly didn't stand on ceremony and pointed to several bags, "Those are clothes, and those are blankets."

“Mom has already prepared blankets and a stove in the room, so we can leave the blankets we brought from home for now,” Ji Hefeng said. “Let’s bring our clothes first.”

Molly was surprised that Ji's mother had already made preparations. Feeling a warmth in her heart, she asked Ji Hefeng, "Which courtyard did Mother arrange?"

"It's a courtyard near Mo An's place. It's not big, but it's enough." Ji Hefeng led the way. "I don't know when you'll be back. The hot water has been boiling for the past two nights. Go take a shower first, then have some noodles. We can talk about everything tomorrow."

The corridor was winding and illuminated by electric lights along the way. Li Xiaoju, holding her granddaughter, became increasingly careful.

This house is far too big, like a royal palace in a play.

"It's just ahead," Ji Hefeng said, leading everyone around a corner, through a courtyard gate, and straight towards the main house. He pointed to two rooms, "Mom arranged these two rooms. The hot water pipes are also connected to the shower room here, so it's usable now."

“Okay, I got it,” Molly said. “Go and take the things off the truck. There’s a chicken coop on there. Don’t let those chickens suffocate.”

"You can pick it up tomorrow," Mo He said apologetically, tugging at Mo Li's sleeve. "It's so late, don't bother your brother-in-law."

"Big sister, it's okay. I can't fall back asleep even though I'm awake. Let's move the things over first, and after Molly has eaten, I'll go back to rest with her."

Molly showed Moho where the light switch was and taught them how to use the hot water. Only after confirming that they knew how to use it did she return to her own yard.

When she came out of the shower, she saw a large bowl of cooked noodles on the dining table, but Mo An was nowhere to be seen. Molly guessed that he was probably with Mo He. Since Mo An would bring her older sister over, she didn't need to go there. She went to the cupboard and took out a few bowls to distribute the noodles.

Sure enough, Mo An brought Mo He's family over shortly afterward.

Mo An led Mo He in front, while Li Xiaoju carried Zhao Pan behind.

"Can Panpan eat by herself?" Mo An asked.

“Not really. Usually, her grandma and I feed her.” Mo He touched her daughter’s face. “You guys eat first, I’ll feed Panpan.”

“I’ll feed them,” Mo An said eagerly. “I’ve fed Ji Yi and the others countless times, I’m very experienced, don’t worry, big sister.”

As he spoke, Mo An brought over a children's high chair and smiled at Zhao Pan, "Panpan, sit here."

Li Xiaoju hesitated for a moment, then placed Zhao Pan in the high chair. Zhao Pan didn't cry; instead, she curiously touched everything. Mo An put the noodles to her lips, made an "ah" sound, and looked at her expectantly. Zhao Pan hesitated for a moment, then slowly opened her mouth.

“Isn’t that pretty well-behaved?” Mo An smiled.

Mo He laughed, "She must be hungry. The noodles you cooked smelled so good that she couldn't resist."

“I’ve learned cooking from a professional chef,” Mo An said with a smug smile. “I’ll show you what I can do tomorrow.”

Looking at her strong, generous, and confident younger brother, Mo He felt very gratified. "Okay, I'll wait and see."

Li Xiaoju ate her noodles silently, but her eyes darted around, taking in the huge restaurant. She was shocked. Good heavens, this restaurant was bigger than her house!

This family is so rich this season!

Molly finished her noodles first, then yawned. "I'm going to sleep now. Xiao An, I'm leaving my older sister and the others in your care."

"Second sister, you should go to sleep. I will take good care of eldest sister and Xiao Panpan." Mo An was heartbroken to see the dark circles under his second sister's eyes. "Tomorrow is the weekend, you can sleep wherever you want. Xiao Lu and I will take good care of Ji Yi and the others."

Molly hummed in agreement, then got up and went back to her room.

She hadn't seen her children for four days and missed them terribly, eager to go back and sleep with them.

So, when Ji Hefeng finished moving his things, took a shower, and returned to the room, his wife was already asleep, holding his children. She had one child in each arm, two on her lap, and even one on each side of her stomach.

Ji Hefeng was both amused and exasperated. How could any normal person fall asleep with a child pressing down on them like that?

Ji Hefeng, who hadn't received anything, kissed Molly on the cheek, then cruelly took the children from Molly's arms, tucked them into the blanket, and covered Molly with the blanket again. In this freezing weather, sleeping without a blanket would surely make her sick tomorrow.

Molly didn't get to sleep until she naturally woke up. When the children saw their mother who had been missing for several days, they all clung to Molly's side and refused to leave, waking her up.

When they saw Molly open her eyes, the children pouted, and before they could even cry, tears were already falling.

Molly was heartbroken by their pitiful looks. She picked them up one by one, kissed them all, and sincerely apologized, "It's Mommy's fault. I'll never leave you again."

The children didn't say anything, but just held onto Molly's clothes with their little hands, afraid that Molly would run away again.

Molly dressed herself first, then changed the children's diapers, dressed them, and made them formula... By the time she finished and pushed the children out of the yard, the sun had already risen.

The sun was warm and cozy, and Molly and her children basked in the sun, too lazy to move.

"Are you hungry? Mom will go get you breakfast. You can eat here," said Mrs. Ji.

"Mom, no need, I'll go to the restaurant to eat." Molly pushed the child towards the restaurant.

Mrs. Ji came over to help push the cart, asking, "Was the journey smooth?"

"Smooth sailing. It's just that some parts of the road were in terrible condition, which slowed us down a bit, otherwise we could have gotten back sooner." Molly yawned.

Mrs. Ji: "Safety is more important. It's okay if it's a little later."

Molly lazily munched on her meat bun, occasionally taking a sip of soy milk. Several children sat in their high chairs, each with a meat bun; having grown four teeth, they could now finish a meat bun by themselves.

When Mo He, Li Xiaoju, and Zhao Pan came over, they were stunned to see six children lined up in a row.

"Why didn't you sleep a little longer?" Molly asked.

Mo He: "Panpan and I slept a lot in the car, so we weren't sleepy."

Li Xiaoju nodded repeatedly, "I slept in the car too, I'm not sleepy."

"Please sit down. The breakfast on the stove is still warm; I'll go get it for you," Mrs. Ji said with a smile.

"I'll go with you." Li Xiaoju hurriedly followed, her movements becoming increasingly cautious. This must be a wealthy woman; she exudes elegance, so different from us country folk.

"Mom, where are Grandpa and Grandma?" Molly wondered why she hadn't seen Grandpa and Grandma Ji since she woke up this morning.

Mrs. Ji placed the steamer basket of buns on the dining table and sighed, "Your cousin is injured and in the hospital. Your grandparents had breakfast today and went to see him at the hospital early this morning."

Molly asked in surprise, "How did you get hurt?"

"Your cousin hired two trucks to go south to pick up goods, mostly valuable appliances like TVs and radios. But on the way back, they were robbed. Your cousin couldn't bear to lose the goods, so he fought with the robbers and got stabbed. Luckily, it was only his shoulder; aside from blood loss, he's fine. But all those two truckloads of goods are gone, a significant loss, probably around 70,000 or 80,000 yuan." Mrs. Ji felt a pang of heartache just thinking about it.

Molly frowned. "Are the robbers really that arrogant?"

“In such a vicious place, people would risk their lives for money. Your uncle called early this morning, asking Xiaofeng to try and recover the goods. I doubt it. These people who dare to rob must have already found a way to sell them. But since your uncle came to our door asking for help, Xiaofeng had no choice but to rush out. I'm afraid he won't be back for several days.” Mrs. Ji was also worried about her child. “I’m going to the hospital to see your cousin later. You’re in charge of things at home. Buy whatever you need, and don’t neglect your sister and aunt.”

As she spoke, Mrs. Ji smiled apologetically at Li Xiaoju, "I'm so sorry I couldn't properly entertain you."

Li Xiaoju shook her head repeatedly, "What are you saying? You have made very thoughtful arrangements."

After breakfast, Molly called Mo An over and gave him five hundred yuan. "Take Xiao Lu and Chu Yang to buy some lime. The three of you can repaint your eldest sister's house. Use the rest of the money to buy two beds, a dining table and chairs, and some bowls and chopsticks. You don't need to buy pots and knives, your eldest sister brought them from home. Buy a few buckets, and three coal stoves."

"Sister, I have money. I can use my own money." Mo An refused Molly's five hundred yuan.

Molly nodded and stuffed the money into his hand, saying, "Make up the difference if it's not enough."

After Molly finished speaking, she looked at Lu Lu and Mo Chuyang, "Your aunt is pregnant and can't do heavy work, so you'll have to do more of the work."

"Mom, I'm very strong, I don't feel tired at all." Lu Lu showed Molly his muscles. They were thin, and it was really not easy to build muscles at his age.

"Mom, do we need to buy a broom and soap too?" Mo Chuyang asked, being more attentive.

Molly nodded. "Yes, buy some. You guys go ahead. It's okay if you can't buy everything at once; you can replenish it later."
