Chapter 19 Can you come over a bit?

Chapter 19 Can you come over a bit?

"Your Highness, a message from the Empress."

Su You held a small note in her hand and spoke with a troubled expression.

In recent days, His Highness has been in a very good mood, writing calligraphy, painting, playing the zither, and appreciating flowers, showing a particular fondness for leisure. A strange smile often involuntarily appears on his face. Su You doesn't know what has happened to him in Qiyun City, but he feels happy because His Highness is happy.

The ink spread across the paper with the pen tip, ruining the first stroke. Jing Qianheng put down the pen, the gentle breeze on his face vanishing without a trace, instantly turning as cold as ice.

Jing Qianheng pulled open the note, and inside it was written - Cold Valley.

It was a remote sect that was once glorious, but decades ago, the sect suffered a calamity and was slaughtered by a traitor, leaving only a dozen or so disciples alive. Later, it became increasingly destitute and was ignored by everyone.

The Empress sent a letter urging Jing Qianheng to find the forbidden technique as soon as possible, and gave him a clue, telling him to go to Hanyou Valley to investigate.

Su You had been with Jing Qianheng since she was a child, knew all his suffering, and did not like that cannibalistic royal family.

They had finally come all this way and were finally able to catch their breath at the Ziyang Immortal Abode, but the people from the Jin Kingdom still wouldn't let their prince go and kept pressing him.

Thinking of Jing Qianheng's gloomy face after seeing the letter, Su You quickened her pace, eager to go to Sishui Cave to find Jiang Zhishui.

Jiang Zhishui was swinging on a swing, eating a peach. When she saw Su You, she hurriedly swallowed the peach in her mouth and asked, "Why are you here? Is something wrong with Jing Qianheng?"

Su You ran a few steps, slightly out of breath, "Your Highness is alright, Miss Jiang, are you free right now?"

Su You hesitated for a moment, but continued, "Miss Jiang hasn't visited His Highness these past few days. Is she angry with him?"

"I'm angry?" Jiang Zhishui was completely confused. "No, did your prince say that?"

She stole Elder Bai Zang's protective magic artifact. Considering that she turned herself in, she was punished with hard labor. These days, she has been tending to flowers and trees and cleaning the cave.

Su You shook her head and said, "No, His Highness didn't say. It's just that Miss Jiang was very clingy to His Highness a while ago, but then she stopped coming. I guess it's because His Highness doesn't know how to speak and made Miss Jiang angry."

“Your Highness doesn’t like me going to see him.” Jiang Zhishui breathed a sigh of relief, turned around and sat back on the swing, taking a bite of a peach. “He can’t talk? He’s always been quite talkative, leaving me speechless.”

Su You walked over and stood by the swing, lowered her head and said in a muffled voice, "His Highness has never liked to talk. In the palace, His Highness ignores everyone, and he can hardly say more than a few words to me."

Jiang Zhishui found it hard to believe that every time she saw Jing Qianheng, he wanted nothing more than to verbally abuse her. He would hurl insults one after another, so scathing that no one dared to retaliate.

Seeing that Su You was in a bad mood, Jiang Zhishui pointed to the peaches on the stone table, "Do you want to eat some peaches? I picked them from the mountains, they're very sweet."

Su You looked at Jiang Zhishui, "Miss Jiang, may I give a few of these peaches to His Highness?"

“Of course you can, take them all back.” Jiang Zhishui stood up and said, “I’ll go get a nice basket for you to put them in.”

Su You followed behind her, "I...I still need to prepare medicine for His Highness, Miss Jiang, may I go with him?"

Jiang Zhishui paused, turned around, and asked, "You want me to go?"

Su You nodded and said, "I'd like to trouble Miss Jiang to go."

Jiang Zhishui stared at him suspiciously and asked, "Did you do something wrong and upset him? Are you trying to use me as a shield?"

"He suddenly came over and kept subtly urging me to go find him. Is he angry right now and you're scared, so you're using me as a scapegoat?"

Su You said guiltily, "...Miss Jiang is really smart."

Jiang Zhishui sighed: "Aren't you afraid he'll be even angrier if he sees me?"

“No, that won’t happen.” Su You said confidently, “Although His Highness doesn’t like Miss Jiang, he always feels much more at ease after seeing her and becomes more talkative.”

"Relieve yourself?" Jiang Zhishui understood what he meant and said with a wry smile, "You think it's better for your prince's health to let him vent, right?"

“Last time, His Highness vomited some blood and took some medicine. He felt much better and was even radiant and energetic for a while.” Su You knew Jing Qianheng’s condition well. The illness could only be endured, and it would take a long time to feel even slightly better. “Miss Jiang can stimulate His Highness. Once His Highness sees you, he has no time to think about anything else.”

Jiang Zhishui blushed a little at what she said; last time, Jing Qianheng was so angry with her that he almost vomited blood.

“Miss Jiang, you may not know this, but our Prince…” Su You hesitated, then stepped forward, covered her mouth, and whispered in his ear, “Our Prince likes Miss Liu. He must have made good progress with Miss Liu during his trip to Qiyun City. He has been in a good mood these past few days since he returned, but some things have disturbed his peace of mind. So I’m worried that if His Highness stays alone, he might get sick again.”

"..." Jiang Zhishui glanced at him and asked, "What's wrong with him? Didn't you provoke him?"

Su You shook her head. "How could I dare? His Highness has never reacted to anything anyone did to him before. Apart from Miss Jiang, this is the first time I've seen him so angry..."

Jiang Zhishui smiled awkwardly.

"I wonder what Miss Jiang did to make His Highness so angry." Su You was puzzled. He looked at Jiang Zhishui and asked in confusion, "Our His Highness wouldn't even flinch if someone were to draw a sword against him. He rarely cares about anyone or anything like this."

Jiang Zhishui listened to his nagging for a long time, and seeing that Su You was about to ask something she shouldn't ask, she quickly agreed and went to do so.

Jiang Zhishui stood at the door, carrying a basket of peaches. She raised her hand and knocked: "Jing Qianheng, I picked some peaches. Would you like some?"

There was complete silence inside; there was no response.

Su You didn't come over; only Jiang Zhishui was waiting outside the door.

After returning from Qiyun City, she was punished by Elder Bai Cang for stealing a magical artifact and was required to serve in Sishui Cave, where she was not allowed to leave without permission.

Senior Sister Yan Xue took some time to go down the mountain to buy supplies.

She couldn't stay out for too long; she had to return as soon as possible before her master emerged from seclusion.

Because of the events surrounding the illusion of Qiyun City, the Immortal Sect has been sending people to keep a close eye on the movements of the Demon Clan.

This matter is temporarily concluded.

Unlike the illusion in her first life, Jiang Zhishui met a person named Pei Jing in this illusion. The system later revealed that Pei Jing was the son of the Demon Lord, the same young master of the Demon Clan whom Jiang Zhishui was bewitched by in the original story and betrayed Jing Qianheng to join.

Jiang Zhishui was lost in thought when the door suddenly opened. She looked up in a panic, picked up the basket, and asked with a sweet smile, "Want some?"

Jing Qianheng glanced at her basket, opened the door, and then turned to walk inside. Jiang Zhishui stood outside the door, unsure whether he was letting her in or letting her leave.

“There are lots of wild fruits growing in that area behind the mountain…” Jiang Zhishui braced herself and went in, enthusiastically recommending her good fruits, “I picked them myself, I didn’t give any to anyone else, I gave them all to you.”

Jing Qianheng sat in the chair, looked up at her, his eyes hazy: "What did you say? I didn't hear you clearly. Can you come closer?"
