Chapter 22? Something evil?! ...
Chapter Twenty-One
Having many children at home is great; it's incredibly lively with them running and jumping around. Ji Zhi Qiu patiently waited and then herded them like lambs to wash their hands first, before finally getting them to sit quietly at the dining table.
Life is never perfect. Let's pretend that little incident never happened, and they will still have a wonderful night.
Ji Zhi Qiu smiled and placed a piece of sweet and sour pork rib on the three children's plate. "This is my best dish. Try it and see if you like it."
After struggling for so long, Ji Zhi Qiu had given up on all the other dishes. This sweet and sour pork ribs was the only one she could still present. The main reason was that the meat and bones were very resistant to overcooking, so no matter how bad the dish was, it wouldn't turn into mush.
Ji Sicheng stared blankly at the ribs on the plate for a long time.
Surprisingly, all three of them received one, and they were almost exactly the same size.
He stared blankly at Ji Zhi Qiu, not understanding the meaning of his actions. Ji Zhi Qiu was also confused by his gaze, and said with a smile, "Eat, what's wrong? Don't you like sweet and sour flavor?"
Ji Sicheng slowly lowered his head and chewed very slowly.
Using his brain is also very physically demanding, so he eats more than other children his age. In the past, Ji Zhi Qiu would often tease him and hint that he shouldn't waste the family's food and money. He gradually developed the habit of only eating what was in his bowl and would never reach for his chopsticks, no matter how hungry or craving he was.
Ji Zhi Qiu only knew the general plot and setting, and was not clear about the details of their previous interactions. Seeing that Ji Si Cheng only ate those few dishes, she tentatively put other dishes on his plate: "Don't be picky, these taste very good too, you might like them if you try them."
Ji Sicheng: Am I a picky eater?
Ji Zishen, who was standing next to him, almost choked on the water.
Even with his picky eating habits, Ji Sicheng was the most addicted to pigs he had ever met.
Ji Zishen was precocious and mature for his age; he vaguely sensed that something was amiss.
He was certain that Ji Zhi Qiu had changed; she was completely different from before, like a different person altogether.
Just as he was about to fall into thought, another piece of sweet and sour pork ribs suddenly appeared on the plate. "Zishen, eat more too, so you can grow taller and stronger."
Ji Zishen's attention was diverted, and his expression became serious.
He also realized that he was shorter and smaller than his peers, and that he always had to stand in the front row when queuing, which made his self-esteem hurt.
He stopped thinking about it and focused on eating. For a moment, all Ji Zhi Qiu could see were three fluffy heads, his serious face almost buried in the bowl.

Seeing his three sons eating so heartily, Ji Zhi Qiu was in a good mood and ate half a bowl more rice than usual.
After finishing dinner, he cleaned up and came out of the kitchen. He saw his three eldest sons sitting in a row, their expressions and postures exactly the same, like they could play a game of Candy Crush.
He smiled and walked over to pat the somewhat reserved Ji Sicheng on the shoulder. “The house is rather small and there aren’t any extra rooms. I’ll set up half of the study for you to use. There’s a whole wall of bookshelves in the middle, so I won’t bother you.”
Before this, Ji Zhi Qiu would never have done such a thing. Ji Si Cheng was already confused, and when he saw the state of the study, he was completely stunned.
Ji Zhi Qiu did not underestimate his needs because of his young age. He left most of the study to him, with cabinets on all four sides, so that his books would have a place to be stored and would be easier to find.
"This...is for me?"
Ji Zhi Qiu didn't get a satisfied look from Ji Si Cheng's face, and said somewhat nervously, "If you feel it's not suitable, we can adjust it. You can also tell me what you need, and I'll buy it for you."
Ji Sicheng looked up, stared blankly at him, and managed to utter a single, strained sound: "Okay."
Ji Zhi Qiu suddenly remembered something and said firmly, "But the computer won't work."
Ji Sicheng didn't think much of it; it would be strange if parents let their children play on the computer.
He paused, then said stiffly, "Thank you, Dad."
Ji Zhi Qiu smiled and patted his head.
As night deepened, it was soon time for bed. Ji Zhi Qiu watched his two older sons obediently return to their rooms before he picked up the little dumpling and turned to go back to his bedroom.
"Dad, I want to read a children's book before I go to sleep." Ji Yanyan was still thinking about the book her brother had bought for her.
“Okay.” Ji Zhi Qiu nodded with a smile.
Ji Yanyan wriggled beside him like a little worm, her soft face pressed against his arm. "Daddy, were you happy tonight?"
"Of course I'm happy that your brother is back."
He didn't tell the whole truth.
This was his first meeting with his second son, and they got along quite well. With such a good start, things will likely go much more smoothly in the future. He believes that his second son will soon be able to be brought back to the right path.
Although he was very optimistic and confident, he did not forget another hidden danger.
The second son's character is quite old-fashioned. Besides being a child prodigy, he has another identity that makes him somewhat difficult to deal with.
But Ji Zhi Qiu wasn't worried. After yawning, he peacefully drifted off to sleep.

It was as if the whole world had fallen asleep, completely quiet. The door to the side bedroom opened a crack from the inside out, and Ji Sicheng, who should have been sleeping, stood in the doorway, dressed neatly, his eyes calm as he scanned his surroundings, like a patient hunter. Only after confirming that it was safe did he quietly step out.
He'd been a well-behaved child all day; it was time for him to do what he wanted at night.
He had many ideas in his mind, eager to turn them into reality, so he quickened his pace and walked to the study.
The curtains in the study were half-drawn, making visibility much lower than outside, but Ji Sicheng had excellent eyesight. After scanning the room, he accurately found his target, and his eyes lit up with excitement.
Just as he was about to walk over quickly, he suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder, and the resistance increased.
If Ji Zhi Qiu were in this situation, she would have screamed in fright, but Ji Si Cheng held back, suppressing her racing heartbeat, and turned to look at the person who suddenly appeared behind her.
Ji Zishen was wearing the bear pajamas that Ji Zhiqi had just bought for him. His face looked especially cute, but his eyes were calm and steady, showing no signs of sleepiness.
"What are you doing here?" the two asked in unison.
They fell silent again, locked in a silent standoff for a long time.
Ji Sicheng frowned, giving in first, "Why did you stop me? You never used to meddle in other people's business."
Ji Zishen glanced at the bedroom and lowered his voice, "I don't want to interfere with you either, but what you're doing might cause trouble."
Ji Sicheng was completely puzzled by his intentions. "Who are you causing trouble for?"
Although Ji Zishen didn't want to admit it deep down, he still spoke up, "Dad, we're not his biological sons. If we want to stay in this family, we have to behave ourselves."
Ji Sicheng didn't believe his nonsense. "No matter how much trouble he has, it's none of our business. Why are you so concerned about him? And what do you mean by saying he's changed?"
“You won’t believe anything I say; you’ll have to experience it for yourself.” Ji Zishen looked at him as if he were looking at his past self.
He had previously induced Ji Yanyan to sneak out to find her stepfather, almost causing a serious mistake. Although he was not held accountable, he still felt guilty and had a lingering desire in his heart.
Whether you're a child or an adult, everyone wants a home.
Ji Sicheng's expression turned extremely strange as he looked at Ji Zishen in shock. "Have you gone mad too? What happened while I was gone? Is this a disease? Is it contagious? Although scientists are all crazy, I don't want to go mad so early."
Ji Zishen had already guessed that this wouldn't work, and said firmly, "Anyway, I won't let you mess with the computer while I'm here."
Ji Sicheng was a little annoyed and glared at him, "You really think you're my own brother? You even want to control me. Don't forget that there are only two people in this family who are related by blood. We are all outsiders!"
Ji Zishen simply looked at Ji Sicheng in silence, using his body to block him from view.
Ji Sicheng originally thought that he could still communicate with Ji Zishen in this family, but he didn't expect that Ji Zishen would betray him after he was gone for only a month.
He walked over angrily, shoved Ji Zishen aside with his shoulder, and walked forward without paying any attention.
Ji Zishen couldn't stop him, and the power-on password was even less likely to work!
No matter how complex the password, it's like a newspaper to him—easily cracked with a single poke.
He was arrogant enough that as long as he had access to a computer...
His outstretched hand was in mid-air, his fingers seemingly hitting an invisible wall, unable to move forward even an inch.
Is there something dirty?!
The dark clouds that had obscured the moon gradually dispersed, and the bright moonlight streamed into the room through the window, leaving a transparent path of light that also illuminated the transparent object.
Knowing that the computer password wouldn't stop her son, Ji Zhi Qiu chose the simplest and most unpretentious method: she bought an acrylic box and locked the computer inside, making it secure and safe.
Ji Sicheng: "..."
Ji Zishen: "..."
Ji Zishen's lips twitched twice. Looking at the dumbfounded Ji Sicheng, he ultimately said nothing, turned around with relief, and went back to sleep. Ji Sicheng was still standing there, staring at the acrylic box in disbelief.
How could Ji Zhi Qiu know that he would secretly use the computer? Or was the acrylic box bought a long time ago, not to protect him?
He was still unwilling to give up. He listened to the iron lock study for a long time but couldn't budge it an inch. The computer was right in front of him but he couldn't get his hands on it, which made him frustrated and discouraged.
Just as I was racking my brains for other solutions, I suddenly noticed a piece of white paper next to the acrylic box.
[No matter who you are, here's a word for you: the first word in your English vocabulary book]
Other six-year-olds wouldn't even know how to read a question, let alone recognize all twenty-six letters, but Ji Sicheng is an exception.
The word immediately came to his mind.
abandon; give up.
