Chapter 9: The Rival - The Ice Queen
The professor assigned a group project. After returning from the cafeteria, Xie Changyu first took a shower, changed into clean clothes, sat down at her seat, and then turned on her computer to start working on a PowerPoint presentation.
Xie Changyu rubbed his eyes, took out his glasses from the drawer and put them on. He was slightly nearsighted and usually only wore them when he was in class or doing homework on the computer. Otherwise, they didn't bother him much.
He propped his head up with his left hand, his dark circles obscuring most of his face. His skin was fair, his wisps of hair were gently lifted, and his eyes were clear. He held the mouse in his right hand, his gaze fixed intently on the computer screen as he began to operate it.
He had the appearance of a handsome young man.
The phone next to him kept vibrating. Xie Changyu picked it up and saw that it was a message in the group chat. The other group members were discussing how to complete the assignment.
He didn't post any messages; he just followed the instructions of the team leader.
He had already been assigned the task of creating a rough draft of a PowerPoint presentation; the rest would be handled by them. Xie Changyu was somewhat relieved that his job wasn't too troublesome, as it was the easiest part.
He stopped checking group messages. He had already told Sui Sui in advance that he was a bit busy tonight and would just play games, so Sui Sui didn't send him any messages to bother him.
Xie Changyu continued to stare at the computer screen, his hands moving non-stop, creating slide after slide of the PowerPoint presentation.
Two hours later, Xie Changyu finally stopped. He looked relaxed, tilted his neck, and gently massaged the back of his neck with his hand, letting out a soothing sigh.
It's finally finished.
After Xie Changyu finished his reflection, he picked up his phone and saw that there were already 99+ group messages.
"Are they really talking about this much?" he wondered, then clicked to see what they were saying and found they were discussing the school sports meet... and gossip. He also saw a few very familiar names.
Their group has a total of six people, two girls and one boy. The group leader is a girl. Right now, they are gossiping excitedly in the group chat. Xie Changyu even saw that they tagged him, asking him to come out and chat with them.
【Dou Dizhu Group 666】
[Farmer No. 1: @BoredGodWhereAreYou? Everyone's chatting, Xie Changyu, where are you?! Come out and chat!!!]
[Farmer No. 2: Speaking of which, isn't President Jiang, whom we were just talking about, the same roommate as Changyu? @BoredGod, come out and gossip with us!]
[Farmer No. 3: @BoredGod]
[Farmer No. 4: @BoredGod]
[Farmer No. 5: @BoredGod]
[Bored Male God: ...Just finished making the PowerPoint presentation, what are your names?]
[Farmer #2: Isn't he handsome! Quickly catch up with us, you should change too!]
[Bored God: ...I refuse.]
Despite saying that, Xie Changyu honestly changed the group nickname to Farmer No. 6.
[Farmer No. 5: @Farmer No. 6, which sport are you planning to participate in at the school sports meet?]
[Farmer No. 6: School sports meet? I haven't been following it, so I probably won't be participating.]
He wasn't very interested in that; he just wanted to stay in his dorm room and lie down all the time, so Xie Changyu casually rejected the idea.
Then he was bombarded with information from five other people, and he was forced to accept a lot of information about the school sports meet, when it would be held, which celebrities would be participating, and that everyone in his class had to participate in a sport.
Everyone has to participate?
Xie Changyu felt like the sky was about to fall.
He quickly opened the class group chat and saw the rule. Finally, the sports committee member said that the deadline was this Friday, and every student needed to register with him.
My heart is slightly dead.
The group chat is tagging him again, asking him about the gossip in his dorm. They're very curious about the relationship between Jiang Yue and Gu Qingjia in his dorm.
Xie Changyu didn't want to get involved in this kind of thing. After all, they were roommates. If they gossiped about their private affairs behind their backs and it got leaked, it wouldn't be good. He was an honest man.
So he honestly rejected their gossip and replied, "I don't know."
He breathed a sigh of relief after finding an excuse to leave the chat. How come he never realized these people were so gossipy before?
He and these group members had a normal classmate relationship, and they would only communicate occasionally because of group assignments. He was not often in this group.
Ultimately, it's because his two roommates are too famous. Their dorm wasn't divided by class or major; it was just that extra students from each major were randomly assigned together. The four of them were from four different majors.
Jiang Yue and Gu Qingjia caused such a big scandal during freshman military training, instantly becoming celebrities on campus and the subject of gossip. Of course, a big reason for this was that the gossip involved three super handsome guys, one of whom was the student council president. With the help of the forum, they suddenly became famous in the university town.
Xie Changyu felt a bit of a headache. Last night, he applied to his counselor to change dorm rooms, but was rejected because there were no extra beds available. How annoying!
He always felt that continuing to live with these people would bring who knows how much trouble they would cause later.
He's the only ordinary person in the whole dorm, how come he's so unlucky?
Xie Changyu was leaning back in his chair with a listless expression when he stood up to go to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face. He was startled by someone who suddenly appeared out of the corner of his eye.
He jumped up, his face filled with shock, and his hand trembled slightly. "You, why didn't you say anything when you came back?"
His voice trembled a few times, indicating that he was quite frightened.
Following the finger, you see Jiang Yue with black hair and a cold face. He glances at Xie Changyu and says lightly, "You're just too serious about making this PPT."
It's 9 p.m. now, and there are only the two of them in the dorm room.
Xie Changyu's face turned a shade paler. Looking at Jiang Yue, who remained calm, he felt like a clown. How awful, how embarrassing, that he had been so easily frightened.
He didn't want to admit his lapse in composure and tried to walk away pretending nothing had happened, but someone next to him blurted out, "Which event are you planning to participate in at the school sports meet?"
Xie Changyu felt that he and Xie Changyu weren't close enough to discuss this kind of thing, so he silently muttered, "I haven't thought about it yet."
"Your body is too weak. You need to work on your physical condition before you can participate," Jiang Yue said objectively, pointing out Xie Changyu's physical condition.
Xie Changyu's eyes darted around, still somewhat puzzled as to why he was suddenly saying this to him.
His gaze drifted to Jiang Yue's upper body, and his eyes widened instantly. Wait, this guy has muscles too?
Jiang Yue had already taken off his outer shirt, wearing only a simple white T-shirt. His muscle lines were faintly visible, and his face carried a faint aloofness, with cold and stern features.
Xie Changyu swallowed hard, feeling that Jiang Yue looked remarkably like the ice queen from the novel he had recently been enjoying.
Unfortunately, while other people's ice queens are cold on the outside but warm on the inside, this guy is cold inside and out, and he's a man too. They can't be compared.
He shook his head, startled by his own sudden association. What was wrong with him lately? Why was he suddenly paying attention to these people's figures?
He must have been led astray by that guy Qi Yan!
