Chapter 16 Giving Him a Mask

Feng Su's body trembled.

He suspected he was hallucinating.

The boy remained lying face down, covering his face, without moving.

"Feng Su." Yu Yan was almost laughing in anger.

The little dumpling actually dared to disobey her.

Feng Su raised his head this time, and when he saw Yu Yan, a look of helplessness flashed across his face.

It really is Master!

"division,"

"You can wear this if you still mind."

Yu Yan handed him a silver mask.

Feng Su completely forgot to stand up; he stared blankly at the mask in Yu Yan's hand.

What does "Master" mean?

"Don't overthink it. I'm just worried that you might not be able to think straight."

Yu Yan loosened her grip.

The silver mask slipped off and landed with a thud on the boy's lap.

"As I always say, the thing a cultivator should care about least is appearance."

Yu Yan glanced at him with her eyes lowered.

Her stubbornness was the reason she wouldn't let him take Wanyan Dan.

However, the reshaping of his physical body by the Nascent Soul is entirely beneficial to him.

She had seen the wound on his back.

Some even damaged the soul; those scars cannot be removed by mere elixirs.

Once you've taken Wanyan Dan, it will be very difficult to get rid of it later.

Yu Yan thought that it wasn't entirely to satisfy her own obsession.

She wouldn't ask him to do that if it would harm him, would she?

A few peach blossoms fell onto the mask, perfectly aligning with the peach blossom patterns on it.

Feng Su gently stroked the pattern with her small hands, and then pinched up a pink petal.

A warm current surged through my heart because of Yu Yan's words.

The mask completely covered the scars on his face.

The boy gathered up the peach petals from his robe and buried them in a corner.

Master, thank you.

"Junior sister, I heard you've taken on another disciple?"

Shen Qingyi touched the corner of his eye and smiled as he looked at her.

How come he never knew she had a penchant for raising children?

Yu Yan leaned back in her chair. "Does Senior Brother know why I came to see you?" she asked, a smirk playing on her lips.

Shen Qingyi lifted his sleeve: "I can't guess."

Since her master ascended to heaven, Yu Yan would not seek him out for decades at a time.

He had no idea what she was thinking.

"Anyway, nothing good will come of it," Shen Qingyi added irritably.

"So that's why my senior brothers don't like me."

Yu Yan smiled, and a silver light suddenly flashed between the star marks on her brows.

Shen Qingyi looked at her forehead and couldn't help but raise his hand.

Just as those slender fingers were about to touch Xinghen, Yu Yan slapped his hand away.

Shen Qingyi shuddered.

Realizing what he had done, he gave a helpless, bitter smile.

"Junior sister, I'm sorry."

Yu Yan's slightly furrowed brows relaxed as she reflexively said, "It's nothing."

She rubbed her forehead in frustration.

It's out of control again.

This star mark appeared inexplicably when she began her foundation building.

Even the master didn't know the reason back then.

The only thing that could be glimpsed was the hallucination caused by the star marks, and initially it was completely beyond her control.

Later, as her cultivation improved, she gradually gained control.

This is the first time in hundreds of years that it has gone out of control.

Yu Yan felt somewhat heavy-hearted.

Why did it get out of control?

Her cultivation level had clearly improved.

Shen Qingyi comforted her, "Junior sister, don't worry too much. I wasn't too affected just now."

The man's voice was clear and gentle, like a soft stream soothing the restlessness in her heart.

Yu Yan nodded as if she believed him: "Mm."

Shen Qingyi averted his gaze and stopped looking at her, but his hands, hidden under his sleeves, were clenched into tight fists.

If it weren't for his junior sister stopping him in time...
