Chapter 12 Yu Yan as Steadfast as an Old Dog

"Oh, isn't this the spirit boat of the famous Venerable Yan?"

A seductive female voice pierced through the spirit boat's barrier and entered.

Feng Su and Li Ze immediately looked warily in the direction from which the sound came.

Yu Yan raised her eyebrows slightly, her posture on the couch remaining unchanged.

"Master!" Li Ze looked to Yu Yan for help.

Feng Su, her small body tense, also stared at her.

"What's the rush? You can't have a disciple with a bad temper," Yu Yan said lazily.

Li Ze's little face trembled slightly: "Yes."

Feng Su kept looking at Yu Yan. He had never been afraid, but the other party's tone was arrogant. Could she be his master's enemy?

"Is Venerable Yan afraid to come out and see me?"

The woman in red had long eyelashes with tiny, glittering shards hanging from the corners of her eyes.

She had somehow broken into the barrier and was now standing at the entrance of the spirit boat cabin, smiling at the three of them.

Yu Yan remained as steady as a rock.

The woman even took out two jade teacups. She stood up slightly and her tea-making movements were smooth and pleasing to the eye.

Yan Ning looked at her and chuckled softly.

Her gaze shifted to the two children inside the boat.

The woman looked like a wicked witch; she stroked her chin and clicked her tongue.

"It's been a long time. Venerable Yan seems to be doing well. You've even started raising children."

"My request isn't too unreasonable. How about he becomes my furnace cauldron?"

Yan Ning pointed at Feng Su and said imperiously.

Her eyes were full of determination. Seeing that Yu Yan didn't speak, she added, "She's a bit ugly, but she's got a good constitution. We can raise her for a few years and then slaughter her."

Feng Su trembled. He looked at Yu Yan, his phoenix eyes dim and helpless.

Yu Yan looked at Yan Ning with a half-smile.

"This is my apprentice, don't go too far with your words."

"—Disciple?! This is outrageous, Little Yan Yan! How could you take on a disciple behind my back! What happened to the promise that one person's cultivation would lead to the entire family's ascension?!"

"I don't remember when I said that."

"Ha! You heartless man!"

The two communicated telepathically.

Yan Ning suddenly became angry for some reason.

I wasn't in the mood to tease the kids right now.

The woman plopped down opposite Yu Yan, picked up her teacup, tilted her head back, and drank it all in one gulp.

Li Ze's gaze towards Yan Ning shifted from wariness and resentment to inquiry.

His gaze shifted back and forth between his master and the woman in red, as if he were troubled by something, and he frowned slightly.

Feng Su's eyelashes trembled slightly.

He could sense that the other party did not actually harbor any ill will towards him.

But her words echoed in his ears like a curse.

It's a bit ugly...

Feng Su raised his hand and touched his cheek. The uneven scars pressed against his palm. Even without looking in a mirror, he knew how ugly he looked.

But his master had warned him before that cultivators should not care about appearances.

Yan Ning never intended to mock or ridicule him.

On the one hand, in her eyes, removing that little scar on Feng Su's face would be a piece of cake;

On the other hand, it was precisely because she herself didn't care about these things that she blurted out that sentence without any awkwardness.

Besides, after so many years of cultivating immortality, what kind of demons and monsters hasn't she seen?

But Yan Ning never expected that the child would care so much about this matter.

She was always carefree and easygoing, so she didn't notice the other person's emotional change.

"It seems you've gained a lot from this trip to the secret realm."

Yu Yan teased her.

She withdrew her divine sense from Feng Su, and the woman's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

Perhaps she should have stopped Yan Ning in time.
