Chapter 193 I am Yunqi 7

Over the weekend, Xiao Mo asked Yun Qi to go shopping again. Yun Qi didn't want to go out, but Xiao Mo said that his mother's birthday was coming up and asked Yun Qi to help him pick out a gift, so Yun Qi agreed to go.

The two went shopping at the largest mall. Xiao Mo handed a cup of milk tea to Yun Qi: "Here, less sugar."

"Thank you." Yunqi took the drink and drank it. It was warm, sweet but not cloying, and very delicious.

After finding out what price range Xiao Mo wanted for the gift, Yun Qi picked out a nice bracelet for Xiao Mo's mother, and Xiao Mo readily paid for it.

The shop assistant packed the bracelet, and the two rested in a coffee shop.

Xiao Mo stirred his coffee and said, "Yunqi, it's my mother's birthday this week. I'll probably take a week off to go back to Beijing to celebrate her birthday. Do you want to come to Beijing with me?"

Yunqi: "I'll go find out what's going on. Auntie doesn't even recognize me."

"Alright." Although Xiao Mo guessed that Yun Qi probably wouldn't go, he was still a little disappointed.

After asking his homeroom teacher for leave, Xiao Mo returned to Beijing.

Yunqi returned to going to school alone, and looking at the empty desk next to her, she was clearly not used to it.

Yunqi was momentarily stunned and didn't even hear the teacher calling on her to answer a question.

Yunqi didn't realize what was happening until a classmate in the back nudged her.

Math teacher: "Yunqi, come up and do this problem. If you don't know how, sit down and listen carefully!"

Yunqi glanced at the problem on the blackboard, stood up and walked to the podium. Under the shocked gazes of everyone, she picked up the chalk and wrote down the solution process in one go.

After finishing writing, I went straight back to my seat.

The math teacher was shocked. This question was clearly beyond the curriculum. He had originally intended to dampen Yunqi's spirits, but Yunqi solved it in no time.

The math teacher cleared his throat: "Yunqi's answer is excellent! Let's take a look at the solution process..."

Yunqi started spacing out again; she really wasn't used to Xiao Mo not being around...

During the break, Yunqi unusually took out her phone and sent a message to Xiao Mo, carefully editing and rewriting the message.

Yunqi: [Are you home yet?]

Xiao Mo replied instantly: [Just got home, just about to text you, and then your message came.]

Yunqi smiled, in a good mood.

Yunqi: [Please wish Auntie a happy birthday on my behalf.]

Xiao Mo: [Hmm!]

That evening, Yunqi wondered whether she should send Xiao Mo a message. But what should she say?

Why do I already feel a little out of sorts after only one day of Xiao Mo's absence...?

Just then, Xiao Mo sent a message: [Are you asleep?]

Yunqi was startled and replied, "Not yet, I'm getting ready to sleep."

Yunqi regretted sending the message immediately, saying "I'm going to sleep," which was basically saying she wanted to sleep and didn't want to chat anymore. ...Yunqi slapped her forehead in frustration. Yunqi, Yunqi, do you even know how to chat?! She really wanted to chat with Xiao Mo! How could she continue chatting now?!

Xiao Mo replied: [Hmm... then drink some milk before you sleep... it will help you sleep.]

Yunqi: [Okay.]

Xiao Mo: [Goodnight.]

Yunqi: [Good night.]

Frustrated, Yunqi tossed her phone aside and simply went to sleep.

Yunqi has been going to school alone these past few days. She's not used to Xiao Mo being away.

Xiao Mo would text Yun Qi every day, sharing his daily life. Having learned from her previous experience, Yun Qi was determined not to discourage Xiao Mo's enthusiasm for texting again, and she generally responded to his messages.

Today is Xiao Mo's mother's birthday. He took photos of the decorations and showed them to Yun Qi. Yun Qi couldn't help but praise them, saying that they were clearly prepared with care and were so beautiful!

Yunqi happily texted Xiao Mo.

Driver Uncle Liu observed Yunqi through the rearview mirror: "Miss, it's rare to see you smiling so happily. Are you chatting with someone?"

“I was chatting with Xiao Mo. He went back to celebrate his mother’s birthday. He sent me a lot of photos from the event.”

Uncle Liu: "Miss and Xiao Mo have such a good relationship!"

Yun Qi nodded: "Yes! Xiao Mo is my friend."

Uncle Liu laughed and said, "Just friends? Not boyfriend?"

Boy friend?

Yunqi's face flushed instantly, and she quickly said, "No! We're just good friends!"

Yunqi touched her flushed face... Why was she blushing? Did she like Xiao Mo?

The "ding-dong" sound rang out, and Xiao Mo's message arrived again.

My thoughts are a bit jumbled...

Yunqi didn't check the phone; instead, she silenced it and put it in her bag. Yunqi felt she needed to sort out her feelings...

What exactly are my feelings for Xiao Mo...?

Uncle Liu watched Yunqi put her phone into her bag in the rearview mirror and a smile crept across his face.

Yunqi looked out the window and realized that this wasn't the way home: "Uncle Liu, where are we going? Aren't we going home?"

Uncle Liu: "The master asked me to take you to a place, but I can't reveal the location. He said it's a surprise for you."

Yunqi, unsuspecting, asked, "Is Daddy being so mysterious?"

As the car drove further and further into remote areas, Yunqi couldn't help but wonder, "Uncle Liu, where are we going?"

Uncle Liu: "The master forbids me to say, Miss will know when she arrives."

"All right."

Yunqi had a vague feeling that something was wrong. She had never been to this place before. Even if her father wanted to surprise her, he shouldn't have come to such a remote place, right? What was wrong with her?

Yunqi looked out the window, lost in thought...

Yunqi got out of the car and looked at the somewhat dilapidated unfinished building in front of her, her feelings were complicated...

Uncle Liu walked up to Yunqi and said, "Miss, give me your schoolbag and go inside. The master is waiting for you inside."

Yunqi sensed something was wrong and clutched her schoolbag to her chest, saying, "Uncle Liu, I can carry the schoolbag myself."

Uncle Liu's expression was ferocious: "Miss, you'd better hand over your schoolbag to me obediently, or you'll suffer!"
