Chapter 112 Top Alpha: He was once a crippled Omega. 22. Part Two...
"How is that possible!"
The man addressed as "Boss" said, "The AI didn't notice anything? You guys were watching and you still didn't notice anything? Are you all blind?"
"It's true..."
That man said.
He said something else after that, which sounded like an even closer and quieter whisper. Normally, Qi Pingye could hear it clearly through the AI, but now, he was destined not to be able to discern it clearly.
The blade grazed his neck and, with a thud, embedded itself in the towering liquor cabinet.
The wine cabinet was shaking violently.
The attacker missed his first strike, then instantly swung his knife and attacked again. Qi Pingye immediately dodged, swinging his steel rod, which collided with the military knife, sparks flying and illuminating the darkness in an instant.
Who are you?!
The attacker roared angrily.
Qi Pingye remained silent, his muscles bulging. With a twist of his arm, he instantly turned the tables, deflecting the military knife from an angle the attacker could not have anticipated. He then lowered his waist and elbow and swung his baton at the attacker.
Caught off guard, the attacker felt a gust of wind rush towards him. Before he could even raise his arm to parry, a tremendous force, accompanied by excruciating pain, slammed into his shoulder, producing a crisp sound of bones cracking.
"Hmm!"
The attacker's right arm went limp, and he let out a short, muffled groan.
But his reaction was extremely quick. While taking the unexpected blow head-on, he thrust out his left hand fiercely.
Almost simultaneously, an alarm popped up on the combat goggles, and from deep within the liquor cabinet, a flash of light appeared as several gun barrels silently emitted beams of light.
It's a new type of electromagnetic gun!
"Sizzle... sizzle!"
Arcs of electricity powerful enough to turn a person into a kebab crackled in the darkness, the liquor cabinet swayed slightly, and countless bottles vibrated, but there was none of the loud noise usually associated with gunfire. It seemed these people were focused on stealth and didn't want to easily alert the people inside the villa.
Qi Pingye noticed this and dodged while quickly activating his armor to reduce the interference of the electric arc. Then he suddenly turned around and rushed directly into the depths of the wine cellar.
"This is insane!"
"Stop him!"
The electric arc became even more chaotic.
Even with the armor, Qi Pingye still couldn't completely avoid the damage. Before long, his hands and feet became unsteady and stiff, and he gradually lost sensation. Large areas of his clothes and skin were scratched with bright red burns, and a pungent burnt smell could be faintly detected.
He ignored it and sped off like a ferocious beast traversing the night, full of danger and madness.
A figure suddenly appeared in front of them.
Qi Pingye remained expressionless, his steps unwavering. With a single hand, he activated the magnetic lock, instantly lifting his body into the air. His opponent, startled and looking up, was instantly propelled into the air by Qi Pingye's elusive movement. He lunged forward, kicking at the opponent's head.
The opponent's shield deployed instantly, but it couldn't withstand the attack. He was sent flying backward with a thud, spraying blood.
Qi Pingye continued his charge.
"Boss, the infiltrators are very strong! They're not afraid of our guns, and they have a lot of strange omnics that aren't affected by our equipment..."
A cry came from the other end of the spider-mechanical device.
Before he finished speaking, Qi Pingye knocked down another guard.
"Everyone go! Stop him!"
"Brother, I already told you, my bodyguards are all specially selected, they're extremely skilled. If you let me go now, I'll make them stop immediately..."
"Shut up!"
This Representative Peng is quite adept at finding opportunities. Qi Pingye scoffed inwardly, speechless, and quickened his pace again.
The wine cellar was as dark as a cave, with arcs of electricity flashing everywhere. Swift figures crisscrossed, and the sounds of striking, muffled groans, and screams were incessant.
On the combat goggles, the red dots provided by the AI disappeared one by one, indicating that the enemy had lost its combat capability.
Due to certain suspicions, Qi Pingye did not carry out the killing.
Two minutes later.
Deep inside the wine cellar, a hidden door was kicked open, letting in light. Qi Pingye instantly raised his gun.
The two gun barrels inside were pointed at him, filled with murderous intent.
The gunmen were a middle-aged man with gray hair and one eye, and a young, burly man.
Among them, Representative Peng, dressed in a bathrobe, was bound hand and foot and tied to a chair.
"Kid, who are you?"
The one-eyed middle-aged man spoke in a cold voice, his gaze dangerous; it was the voice of the leader the others had mentioned.
Qi Pingye remained unmoved, his gaze sweeping over Councilor Peng, who looked pleading for help. His voice changed slightly: "It seems you don't quite believe Councilor Peng's words and think I'm his bodyguard?"
The one-eyed middle-aged man scoffed, "If he had such capable bodyguards, would we have kidnapped him? Everyone knows his small group... Enough nonsense, who exactly are you?"
Qi Pingye said, "I feel that the initiative is in my hands now. Shouldn't I be the one asking who you are?"
Upon hearing this, the young, burly man next to him chuckled and said, "You think you can kill just a few of us? You're pretty tough, but let me tell you, this place isn't as simple as it seems."
Qi Pingye smirked, slightly raising his chin to indicate they should look at Councilor Peng: "The initiative I'm referring to isn't about believing you can definitely escape this machine trap, but rather..."
"You wouldn't want Representative Peng to die, would you?"
The young, burly man paused, cautiously steadying the muzzle of his gun, and glanced slightly at Councilor Peng.
A tiny red dot appeared on the side of Representative Peng's neck at some point, like a bite from some insect; it was almost invisible unless you looked closely.
The one-eyed middle-aged man turned his head and saw it too, his brows furrowing instantly.
Councilor Peng looked at them, his face twitching: "No, brothers, what's with that expression? Young man, didn't you come to save me? We can talk this over... I have all the money you want!"
"This is……"
“The intelligent micro-bullet,” Qi Pingye said, “has already burrowed into his body and hidden away; you won’t be able to find it. I dare not say anything else, but once activated, this thing is more than enough to kill Councilor Peng.”
"You went to great lengths to kidnap Representative Peng just to keep him alive and get something out of him, right? If he dies, all your efforts will have been in vain."
Councilor Peng's face paled in horror, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed, the trembling spreading throughout his body: "Young man, don't scare me like that, I can't take a scare..."
"The White Night Federation doesn't have such weapons. Don't try to fool us!" The young, burly man glared at them coldly.
The one-eyed middle-aged man didn't speak, but his brows furrowed even more deeply.
He grabbed Representative Peng by the neck, ignoring his trembling, and moved very close to observe him for a moment. Then he suddenly raised his hand and took off the blindfold from his left eye.
Qi Pingye had assumed that the middle-aged man's eye patch would likely conceal an empty eye socket; otherwise, anyone with a prosthetic eye wouldn't wear something so distinctive.
Modern bionic prosthetic eyes are now almost indistinguishable from real eyeballs in appearance.
But at this moment, when the middle-aged man took off his blindfold, revealing his eye sockets, Qi Pingye realized that his assumptions were wrong.
The middle-aged man didn't lack a prosthetic eye; rather, he received a prosthetic eye that was far too miraculous.
Its appearance is unlike a real eyeball, even somewhat rough, but its internal mechanical structure is exquisitely beautiful and ingenious, resembling a miniature planet. Qi Pingye would bet that it was definitely the work of a top-notch mechanical master, hiding countless extraordinary functions.
Qi Pingye admitted that after completing his studies, he had always been somewhat arrogant in the field of mechanics, and very few machines could arouse his interest again. This eyeball was definitely the only one in recent years.
No mechanic can resist being mesmerized by it.
but.
“You can see it, but you can’t pinpoint it,” he said. “Don’t waste your energy.”
The one-eyed middle-aged man's eyeballs trembled, and the light and shadow shifted.
He quickly confirmed that what Qi Pingye said was true, and his expression turned somewhat ugly. After exchanging a glance with the young burly man, he turned around and said, "Tell me your purpose?"
Upon hearing this, Qi Pingye knew that he had made the right bet.
He dared not relax, monitoring the situation inside the villa while, as if to show sincerity, taking two steps closer and lowering the muzzle of his gun: "From a certain perspective, perhaps we have the same goal."
The one-eyed middle-aged man frowned: "What do you mean?"
Clearly, he was unaware that his previous conversation with Representative Peng had been eavesdropped on.
Qi Pingye's gaze remained calm as he uttered four words: "The chaos of the Far Voyage Star, alien species, the Light Party, and the Silverwing Legion."
The young, burly man's expression changed drastically. He was about to raise the gun he had been holding, but the one-eyed middle-aged man reached out and stopped him.
"If you're so capable," the one-eyed middle-aged man stared intently at Qi Pingye, as if only now truly taking this young man seriously, "what do you want to do?"
Qi Pingye said, "I want to know what kind of truth these four words can piece together, and what roles you, and this Representative Peng, play in it."
"By what right do you ask this?" the one-eyed middle-aged man stared at him.
Qi Pingye chuckled: "Someone who might kill Councilor Peng?"
The one-eyed middle-aged man scoffed: "Fine, I can tell you this secret, but you should think it through. There's no need to get involved in this kind of thing just out of curiosity or greed. Even if you're young and have some skills, you won't be able to make a mess of it. Besides, I don't know much about this either."
Qi Pingye's expression remained unchanged.
“Alright,” the one-eyed middle-aged man sighed, “This story begins twenty-four years ago, during winter on Far Voyage Star. At that time, my superior, Qi Sheng, received a mission to exterminate alien species, and was responsible for…”
As soon as the name Qi Sheng was uttered, Qi Pingye's pupils contracted almost imperceptibly as he stared intently at the one-eyed middle-aged man.
He had a premonition...
He sensed that the truth he had been yearning for was within reach, about to reveal its clear and distinct outline.
His heart was racing, and his blood was rushing to his brain.
However, at that very moment, Representative Peng suddenly spoke up: "It seems that no more rebels will be coming over anytime soon..."
As he spoke, his expression was hidden in the shadows, and at some point, his pleading and fear had turned into a blank, cold indifference.
"What?"
The young, burly man turned his head in surprise.
Almost instantly, the one-eyed middle-aged man jumped up, and without a word, his mechanical leg extended, grabbing the young, burly man and rushing out. Qi Pingye's expression changed drastically, and he turned and ran, his multiple layers of armor deploying simultaneously.
Around the same time.
A burst of intense light erupted from Representative Peng's heart, instantly engulfing the entire dark room.
...
The secretary hurried over into a meeting room.
"Member, all four bombs have been successfully detonated. Preliminary calculations indicate that at least 130 rebels have been eliminated. Following the leads, eight rebel strongholds have been destroyed, and over 300 have been captured."
"Not bad... Alright, let's leave it at that for now. Giving them a lesson will calm them down for a while. Oh, and remember to replenish the new stand-ins. Find as many people as possible, the more the better."
"Don't worry, I understand. Oh, right, your lovers..."
"Don't worry about the dead. As for the living ones... tsk, they were slept with by stand-ins, not by me. What does it have to do with me? Just get rid of them all."
"yes."
After a brief conversation, the secretary acknowledged the order, bowed her head, and left.
The meeting room fell silent again.
After an unknown amount of time, the cigar that had been stubbed out was extinguished, and the sofa chair that had been facing away from the conference table moved and slowly turned around, revealing Councilor Peng's chubby, smiling face.

Author's Note: [Laughing and crying while covering face] When I was writing this chapter a few days ago, I never imagined that I would become a one-eyed man. I guess you could call it a cameo appearance (just kidding).
