Her wrist was being held, and her gaze swept upwards to see a thick stubble of beard. Further up, a bright red handprint on her right cheek reminded Su Wantang of what she had just done.
Finally, when their eyes met, Su Wantang felt inexplicably guilty.
"Huai'an, I..."
"Tangtang," Lu Huai'an called out in a hoarse voice.
The next second, tears welled up in her eyes. Su Wantang's pupils widened in shock as she frantically reached out to wipe them away. "Lu Huai'an, why are you crying? I was just tired and took a nap."
Lu Huai'an pulled Su Wantang into his arms tightly, so tightly that Su Wantang could hardly breathe.
Seeing that he was not in a good mood, Su Wantang gently patted Lu Huai'an's back and said softly, "Lu Huai'an, don't be afraid, I'm here."
With Su Wantang's reassurance, Lu Huai'an's agitated emotions gradually calmed down.
The next second, having calmed down, he released Su Wantang, stood up, rushed out of the ward, and shouted, "Doctor! Doctor! My wife is awake!"
After a period of chaos and turmoil.
Su Wantang finally realized her situation.
She thought it would only be a short while, but she didn't expect to be unconscious for three whole days. No wonder she saw Lu Huai'an looking so disheveled and haggard when she woke up.
And then there was the sight of a grown man crying his eyes out in front of her.
It's estimated that this coma frightened him quite a bit.
Su Wantang knew she wasn't sick, and after the examination, she said she wanted to go home. However, Lu Huai'an and Wen Wanqing insisted that she stay in the hospital for a couple more days to see how things went.
Faced with their worried and concerned gazes, Su Wantang, unable to explain herself, couldn't refuse and agreed to stay another day.
However, she insisted that Lu Huai'an go back to rest, saying that she could manage on her own.
Lu Huai'an and the others were worried, so they spent money to hire a caregiver to look after Su Wantang for another day.
Having failed to resist, Su Wantang had no choice but to accept it.
As soon as she lifted the blanket, the caregiver sitting on the stool immediately came up to her.
"Comrade Su, you can rest now. If you need anything, just tell me."
"Auntie, I need to use the restroom."
"Shall I get you a chamber pot?"
Su Wantang: "..."
The caregiver Wen Wanqing hired for Su Wantang was a well-regarded auntie; almost none of the patients she cared for had any complaints about her.
Unless that person is unreasonable.
Seeing that Su Wantang didn't speak, she said considerately, "Comrade Su, don't worry, we'll just draw the curtain in a bit, and no one will see."
Su Wantang remained silent.
"You don't need to pee? Then it's—"
Su Wantang quickly stopped her: "I'm going to the restroom."
The aunt hesitated for a moment: "Comrade Su, if you mind, I can go out. You can close the door for convenience."
Finally, under Su Wantang's strong insistence, the aunt relented and agreed, but requested to accompany Su Wantang.
Su Wantang went inside, and she waited outside.
After using the restroom, just as she was about to leave, Su Wantang suddenly stopped pushing the door open.
"That bitch Li Jia! When will she ever stop? I've already apologized! I was practically begging her on my knees! She still insists on a divorce? Does she really think Huai Dong can't live without her?"
Su Wantang frowned: Cousin-in-law, you haven't been discharged from the hospital yet?
Zhang Juan cursed, and then, forgetting her lesson, spat several mouthfuls of saliva into the chicken soup she had brought.
"You old hen that won't lay eggs! I'll make you drink chicken soup! You can drink my saliva instead!"
Zhang Juan, who was happily vomiting, was startled when her aunt, who was waiting anxiously, suddenly walked in. She hurriedly pursed her lips with her hand, closed the lunchbox, and walked outside.
"Comrade Su, Comrade Su," the aunt called out.
Upon hearing this surname, Zhang Juan muttered "you little slut" under her breath and quickly left.
When Su Wantang came out of the toilet stall, she only saw a figure flash by the door.
"Comrade Su, it's good that you're alright." The aunt breathed a sigh of relief. Comrade Su's family had given a lot of money, so she couldn't let it be that something was wrong with him.
Seeing Su Wantang staring at the door without saying a word, the auntie immediately became nervous again.
"Comrade Su, I didn't come in on purpose. It's just that you haven't come out for so long, and I was worried that something might have happened to you."
Su Wantang snapped out of her daze: "Auntie, it's alright, I'm not blaming you."
The two left without going directly back to the ward.
Su Wantang walked towards Li Jia's ward.
As soon as I reached the door, I heard arguing coming from inside.
"Li Jia, haven't you made enough of a scene? I'm sorry, but I've already said I've made the chicken soup again. What more do you want? Do you really expect me, your mother-in-law, to kneel down before you? Aren't you afraid of dying?"
Li Jia's face was ashen: "You killed your own grandson and you're not afraid of going to hell, so why should I be afraid?"
Zhang Juan's arrogance was greatly diminished, and she looked away, saying, "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"It's clearly your fault as a mother for not taking care of her child. I told you not to eat it, but you insisted, and now you've ruined my grandson's life. How dare you blame me? If you're going to hell, it'll be because you're haunted by evil spirits!"
The more Zhang Juan listened, the more she realized it made sense.
They're incredibly stupid! Instead of getting rid of that capitalist slut Su Wantang's baby, they ended up losing her grandson!
She slumped her back slightly, then straightened it again.
Li Jia sneered: "What are you pretending for? Don't think I don't know your scheme. Didn't you get the news that Wan Tang might be pregnant from me and then deliberately use me to try to make Wan Tang miscarry?"
"I'm telling you, you're going to be disappointed! Wan Tang isn't pregnant at all!"
Zhang Juan felt even more pain in her heart; she only learned of this news later.
Because of this incident, she was beaten up by the enraged Lu Yuanzhou all night, and the next day her face was so swollen that she was unrecognizable.
I don't know how many bruises he has on his body.
At that moment, I almost rushed up to Li Jia, poked her on the forehead, and cursed her to death.
