Chapter 137 Unfastening the Belt

"Captain Fu?" Su Wantang was slightly surprised to run into Fu Jing here.

The moment Fu Jing appeared, Yue Tao immediately tensed up.

This man is no ordinary person.

Fu Jing glanced at Yue Tao, then quickly looked away and pointed to a nearby coffee shop: "Sit down and have a drink?"

Su Wantang frowned, and just as she opened her mouth, she heard Fu Jing say again, "Let's talk business."

“I led a team to clean up the area in front of the store before.”

After hearing this, Su Wantang had no reason to refuse.

Seeing Yue Tao follow him in, Fu Jing raised an eyebrow, not minding at all.

The three of them sat down.

"What would you like to drink? Take a look, it's on me." Fu Jing handed over the menu.

There are coffee shops in Shanghai, but you need foreign exchange certificates to buy them; ordinary people can't afford them and can't get their hands on them.

As the daughter of a capitalist, Su Wantang had drunk it before.

She ordered a black coffee, and when she looked at Yue Tao questioningly, she noticed his embarrassment and ordered him a coffee tea instead.

In those days, there were very few varieties of coffee, only two or three.

Black coffee retains the pure flavor of coffee; coffee tea is made by grinding coffee beans into powder and adding sugar; and blended coffee is made by mixing coffee beans from different origins.

Fu Jing and Su Wantang ordered the same thing: a cup of black coffee.

Noticing the difference, Yue Tao's eyes became even more hostile; he had a feeling that this person was trying to poach their battalion commander.

"Thank you for your help, Captain Fu."

"No need to be so polite, I'm just following orders from above."

"Are you kidding me?"

Fu Jing denied it: "No, you misunderstood."

Su Wantang: "..."

If you don't deliberately guide her, how could she possibly misunderstand?

Su Wantang was too lazy to argue with Fu Jing about these pointless words, so she got straight to the point: "Captain Fu, what do you want to see me about?"

"Li Jia, before she was sent to the hospital, did you help treat her?"

"Um."

"My aunt is the director of the obstetrics and gynecology department at a Beijing hospital. She is very interested in your treatment methods and would like to get to know you and exchange ideas. Would you be willing to meet my aunt?"

Su Wantang was worried about how to deal with other doctors, but unexpectedly, a pillow was delivered to her just like that.

"Can."

"Could you please give me your contact information, Captain Fu? I will contact Captain Fu's aunt privately."

Fu Jing picked up his teacup and took a sip of coffee.

It's a bit bitter than what I drank before.

He took out a small notebook from his shirt pocket, wrote down two contact numbers, pressed them with two fingers, and pushed it in front of Su Wantang.

"The above is my aunt's contact information, and the below is my contact information."

Su Wantang frowned.

Seemingly knowing what she wanted to say, Fu Jing interrupted her.

"We've been instructed to pay closer attention to the security situation around your shop."

"This is my office phone number."

This person definitely did it on purpose.

Su Wantang accepted the note, quickly finished her coffee, and got up to leave.

"Captain Fu, I've finished my coffee. Please continue drinking it. I won't keep you company."

Yue Tao was so focused on staring at Fu Jing that he didn't even drink a sip of coffee.

But when Su Wantang handed him the menu, he noticed the price on it: five cents a cup.

Just two sips of water, and it costs five cents?

If he weren't so polite, he would have cursed the shop as a rip-off.

Seeing Su Wantang get up and leave, Yue Tao, upholding the fine tradition of not wasting anything, downed his drink in one gulp.

The bitter taste went down his throat, and he looked constipated.

After leaving the coffee shop with Su Wantang, he couldn't help but complain, "Sister-in-law, this is too bitter, expensive and awful."

Su Wantang smiled and said, "I'm used to it, it's quite fragrant and mellow."

"I don't like it. Give me that 50 cents, I'd rather buy a whole case of popsicles." Yue Tao was genuinely disgusted, even switching to his local dialect, saying "What do you mean, what do you mean?"

Lu Huai'an's voice suddenly came from ahead: "What's wrong? What's wrong? You don't like the taste?"

When Lu Huai'an arrived at the store to pick someone up, Su Wantang was not there. Zhou Yu told him that Su Wantang had gone to the bookstore, so he came looking for her.

"Huai'an?"

Su Wantang walked over and took Lu Huai'an's arm, her eyes sparkling as she said, "Taozi doesn't like coffee; he thinks it's expensive and tastes awful."

"Mmm." Lu Huai'an gently tidied a stray hair behind Su Wantang's ear, his tone soft. "Do you like it? Shall we go to the Friendship Store later to buy a bottle of coffee beans?"

Su Wantang shook her head: "It's alright, I don't drink often."

“As I told you before, the day I reported the case, a captain surnamed Fu came over. Today, I happened to run into him at the bookstore. He said he had something to discuss with me and invited me to have coffee.”

Lu Huai'an frowned: "What is it?"

“Her aunt was interested in the techniques I used to treat her cousin’s wife and wanted to exchange ideas with me. I thought it was a good idea, so I asked for her contact information and we plan to meet up to chat when we have time.”

"good."

The two walked away hand in hand.

Yue Tao, with his keen insight, left.

Through the glass window, Fu Jing saw Su Wantang jog forward and take the arm of the tall man walking towards them, a happy smile on her face.

He picked up the teacup and drank it all in one gulp.

My mouth tasted even more bitter.

"Waiter, the bill, please."

...

The Lu family.

After getting off work, Lu Ya came to the compound and saw two strangers in the house, which made her frown.

"Dad, who are these two people? What are they doing in our house?"

Lu Zhentian put on a stern face: "Lu Ya, how can you speak like that? These are Wan Tang's parents, you should greet them quickly."

Upon hearing the identities of the two men, Lu Ya became even more furious: "Dad, our house isn't a shelter; not just anyone can come and live here!"

"Lu Ya!" Lu Zhentian roared.
