Wen Wanqing didn't go home after get off work. After Su Wantang left, she called home and went back to her parents' house with the gifts she had bought as soon as she got off work.
The Wen family is no ordinary family, having raised such an outstanding daughter as Wen Wanqing.
My ancestors were a scholarly family, but they declined later and, by some twist of fate, escaped being persecuted.
Wen's father was the former director of the Education Bureau, and he had just retired from his position two years ago. Wen's mother was a junior leader in the Health Bureau, and she also retired last year. The two were childhood sweethearts and had a very deep relationship. They had three sons and one daughter.
Wen Wanqing is the only daughter, with three older brothers, each of whom has achieved success in their own way.
The Wen family follows the old custom of "not separating the family while the parents are alive," and the whole family lives in a courtyard house not far from Yanjiao University.
"Mom, I'm home." Wen Wanqing knocked on the door.
"Grandma, Grandma's back!" The fourth-generation little radish head of the Wen family excitedly trotted to open the door, his chubby radish legs wrapped in winter clothes.
"Shuxuan." Wen Wanqing had just bent down to pick up the little girl and rubbed her chubby cheeks when another little boy beside her pouted unhappily, "Grandma, you don't love Zixi anymore."
Just as Wen Wanqing was feeling completely overwhelmed, her mother came out and called out, "Wen Zixi, have you finished your homework?"
Although the school is now closed, Mr. Wen knows the importance of education and will push his younger generation to study.
Wen Zixi hid behind Wen Wanqing and said in a clear voice, "Grandma, Great-Grandma hit me, please protect me."
"Wen Zixi!"
Then another woman appeared, who looked four or five years older than Su Wantang. She was the wife of Wen Wanqing's eldest son and also Wen Zixi's biological mother.
The chaotic scene only calmed down after the child was taken away by his biological mother.
Wen Wanqing breathed a sigh of relief, but couldn't help but think that she should talk to Wantang later and say that they should only have one child, as too many would cause too much trouble.
"Wanqing, why did you suddenly come back today?" Wen's mother asked with concern.
Her daughter is a workaholic; unless something comes up, she never thinks of coming home except for holidays.
Wen's father and his three elder brothers and sisters-in-law also looked solemn.
"There is something I need to ask my parents, brother and sister-in-law for help with."
Wen Wanqing briefly explained the family situation to the group of people.
After hearing this, Wen's mother breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn't a big deal, and she even had the leisure to make a joke.
"From what you're saying, you're quite satisfied with this daughter-in-law with such a special background?"
"Mom, Wan Tang is a good child."
With just this one sentence, Wen's mother knew Wen Wanqing's attitude.
"Another day, I'll bring Huai'an and his wife to visit our home."
"good."
After the two finished talking, Miao Qiaoling (Wen Wanqing's second sister-in-law) suddenly interjected, "Auntie, according to your requirements, there really is a house available. The employer's son went abroad a few years ago, and since they couldn't settle down, they wanted to bring their parents over. However, the couple is sentimental and has a lot of requirements, plus the price is high, so it hasn't been sold. If you really want to sell, I'll help you make some contact."
"That would be wonderful."
...
The words, "I still owe you a wedding," shook Su Wantang to her core.
Having lived two lifetimes, she had long since lost her spoiled nature. When she submitted her marriage application, it was sudden, and Lu Huai'an didn't like her. She never imagined this day would come.
Later, the two went through many things together, became an old married couple, and never thought about this matter again.
But at this moment, Su Wantang realized that she still had expectations.
She smiled and said, "Okay."
"After we're done with this busy period, let's have a wedding ceremony."
The two went home together.
Tonight, the atmosphere is just right, and Su Wantang feels that things will naturally fall into place between the two of them.
Unexpectedly, Lu Huai'an simply kissed her forehead.
"You go to sleep first, I'll go get the photos developed."
Su Wantang couldn't find a reason to refuse, after all, business was important and she couldn't let lust cloud her judgment.
But why am I so unhappy?
Su Wantang said angrily, "Wash a few more sheets."
"good."
Lu Huai'an took his things and went to another room. Su Wantang originally wanted to wait for Lu Huai'an, but as she waited, she got sleepy and fell asleep with her eyes closed.
About an hour later, Lu Huai'an entered the room, still damp from the cold. He sat by the bed for a while until the chill dissipated before lying down and falling asleep with Su Wantang in his arms.
I had a good night's sleep.
As soon as they arrived at the pharmacy, Zhou Yu handed them a stack of personal information forms.
"Sister Wantang, these are the people who came to register yesterday. Take a look, choose some, and once you've decided, set a time. I'll call them to come for an interview."
"good."
Su Wantang glanced at it and was amused by the line of small words that Zhou Yu had added below.
This person has a sleazy appearance, is unreliable, and even argues with customers. I don't think he'll amount to much.
They've really found a gem!
Su Wantang sighed, these things, which seemed to be complaints representing personal opinions, actually revealed a person's true character in their humblest moments.
After all, their mindset when facing her as the boss is different from that of Zhou Yu as an employee.
Su Wantang carefully selected four or five, including Xia Bao.
"Xiaoyu, call them and ask them to come for an interview this afternoon."
"good."
Zhou Yu picked up the phone and dialed a number.
"Hello, is this Xia Bao? You're coming for an interview this afternoon—"
Before Zhou Yu could finish speaking, a burst of curses came from the other end: "It's your lousy pharmacy that took job quotas, sold fake medicine, and cheated my son out of his money!"
