Chapter 159 Song Wanying's chance encounter with Huo Jun

Su Zhichen's decision to move out with Song Wanying was not impulsive; after having this idea, he frequently went out.

He had no idea about becoming an intern at factories like steel mills, flour mills, or garment factories. First, it was difficult to get in, and second, even if he could, his identity would be a problem. He didn't want to cause Su Wantang any more trouble, so he hadn't considered it.

Su Zhichen was never cut out to study medicine from a young age. Instead, he had a penchant for literature and had read a lot of books. He was thinking about whether he could find a job copying documents at a newspaper.

His handwriting was neat, and he was a refined and polite person. After visiting four or five newspapers, one of them actually wanted him.

The price for copying ordinary manuscripts is two cents per page, and the price for copying important manuscripts is fifty cents per page.

Although the price wasn't high, Su Zhichen was quite satisfied with the principle of "the more you work, the more you earn."

Moreover, as an unofficial staff member, he could take the manuscript home to copy, keeping an eye on Song Wanying to prevent her from causing trouble for Tangtang.

Being confined at home by Su Zhichen felt like being in prison for Song Wanying; she was both annoyed and relieved.

She finally understood that the only thing she could rely on now was Su Wantang, that rebellious daughter. If she divorced Su Zhichen, she would have no money or land. Was she supposed to sleep on the streets?

Although that was her plan, she couldn't help but worry about Liu Cuicui.

Cui Cui is in the hands of that wicked man!

Now that Su Zhichen has locked her up, it's actually a good thing. It's not that she doesn't want to do things, but Su Zhichen has locked her in the room, so there's nothing she can do.

Today is also the third day of Su Wantang's deadline.

Early in the morning, Song Wanying's right eye kept twitching, and she couldn't suppress it with her hand.

Su Zhichen had just finished cooking and called her out when someone knocked on the door.

The person who came was Yue Tao; I had met him before when I moved.

"Uncle, Aunt, my sister-in-law has been busy these days and hasn't had time to come over, so she asked me to bring you some things."

Su Zhichen frowned: "Here, take something with you. Take it back to Wantang later and tell her that your uncle has money and doesn't lack anything."

"Okay," Yue Tao replied, but put the gift down.

While Su Zhichen was pouring him water, he handed the letter to Song Wanying.

Upon seeing the familiar handwriting, Song Wanying's eyes instantly reddened. She hurriedly reached to open the letter, but stopped when she met Yue Tao's icy gaze and stuffed the letter into her bosom.

As soon as Yue Tao left, Song Wanying couldn't wait to go inside.

There are only a few words above.

[Auntie, I'm with Su Wantang, please save me!]

[Auntie, I'm dying!]

After reading it, she burst into tears.

"Su Wantang, you bastard! I should have strangled you back then!" A venomous curse escaped her lips.

"Wanying, why are you crying?" Su Zhichen finished cleaning up the kitchen, heard the noise, and hurriedly unlocked the door and came in.

Song Wanying's eyes flashed, and she cried out in a death wish, "Su Zhichen, just kill me!"

"Why are you talking nonsense?"

"Nonsense?" Song Wanying's voice rose, sharp and piercing. "I'm a human being too, yet you lock me up in this cramped room where I bump into the wall every time I turn around, like an animal. I'd rather be dead than alive."

Su Zhichen disagreed, saying, "Beasts don't get to eat meat. Besides, how is this room small? Four or five of you could fit side by side here. Furthermore, if you hadn't disturbed me while I was copying the manuscript, I wouldn't have locked you in the room alone."

Song Wanying was furious, almost losing her mind. Was that really the point? Also, what's the difference between having multiple living rooms and kitchens?

"Then just let me die." She pretended to bang her head against the wall.

Su Zhichen quickly stopped her, frowning for a long time before saying, "Just bear with it for half a day. After I submit the manuscript and get the money this morning, I'll go out with you to the department store and buy you a hair accessory."

Department store? Hair accessory?

Did Su Zhichen treat her like a beggar?

She'll be going to the Friendship Store to buy coats and jewelry.

"Then you must keep your word."

"Um."

After watching Su Zhichen leave, Song Wanying paced anxiously in the room.

She was determined to save Liu Cuicui, but she was also extremely unwilling to give up Su Zhichen, her source of livelihood.

She struggles to support herself. Without Su Zhichen, her sugar daddy, how will she and her daughter survive once Cuicui is rescued from the clutches of that wicked man?

Suddenly, a loud banging on the door caught Song Wanying's attention.

"Comrade, is your husband abusing you? Locking you up and not letting you out? I just saw him leave the alley. Don't be afraid. If it's like what I said, let me know and I'll break down the door and rescue you."

right!

She wants to go out!

Staying at home and relying on her alone is not an option!

Song Wanying leaned against the door and said in a pitiful voice, "Big brother, please help me."

That soft voice, that little tune, stirred something within Li Qiang: "Okay, girl, step back a bit, I'll kick you all away."

With a loud bang, the door was kicked open by Li Qiang.

Upon seeing his face, Song Wanying said with disdain, "It's you?"

Good heavens! That one fleeting glance was enough to steal his heart. Right now, Li Qiang's eyes are practically glued to her.

He rubbed his hands together and said in a playful tone, "Little sister, it's all a misunderstanding. If I had known it was you, I would have peed on myself rather than spill it on you."

Song Wanying showed another look of disgust on her face, but in her heart she felt a little more comfortable because of Li Qiang's flattery.

"Thank you, sir. I have something to do, so I'll be going now."

How could Li Qiang just stand by and watch the duck that was about to be eaten fly away?

He immediately chased after her: "Hey little sister, what's up? I happen to be free, I'll lend you a hand."
