“Me?” Su Wantang pointed to herself, incredulous.
"You didn't know?" Wu Xuan was equally surprised, and felt even more fearful of Su Wantang's background.
Having dealt with Wu Xuan twice, Su Wantang had a vague suspicion that he was not one to lie.
"It must be... he forgot."
Wu Xuan could tell from the unease in Su Wantang's tone, but he wisely didn't ask any further questions.
“Before the New Year, when construction started, I was puzzled. I called to ask and found out it was your factory. But the higher-ups said it would be under the Third Pharmaceutical Factory. From now on, we'll be colleagues. Comrade Su, if you need anything, just let me know.”
Wu Xuan wasn't exaggerating. While the pharmaceutical factory remained largely unchanged, it was now benefiting from new policy support. Wu Xuan wasn't stupid; he had already suspected something, and today's question confirmed it.
This is all thanks to Su Wantang.
After chatting with Wu Xuan for a few minutes, Su Wantang returned to the pharmacy and immediately called Chen Ze.
Chen Ze chuckled and said, "I was thinking of giving you a big surprise once the factory was built."
Having gotten a good deal, Su Wantang's words became sweet: "Thank you, Grandpa Chen, I'll make you some health pills later."
"That would be wonderful!"
Chen Ze could clearly see the effects of the medicinal bath on his body; it was a good thing, and he certainly wouldn't refuse it.
After chatting for a while, Su Wantang said, "Grandpa Chen, I have a small favor to ask of you."
Chen Ze paused for two seconds, then chuckled, "You little rascal, I knew it wouldn't be easy to get anything from you."
"Tell me what happened," Chen Ze said, then, as if feeling it had gone too smoothly, added a serious question.
"I don't agree to everything so easily!"
He emphasized "it's nothing" and "it's just a casual thing."
Su Wantang retorted, "I'm not just anyone; I do all the proper things!"
Chen Ze: "...Speak."
