The wedding wasn't over yet, so Fu Jing didn't go up to disturb them.
He sat on the first floor, ordered a cup of tea, and waited patiently. When Gu Shiya entered and saw this scene, she immediately shrank back.
She hid for a while, but Fu Jing's gaze didn't sweep over her, and she couldn't help but feel uneasy.
Something's definitely wrong.
Otherwise, given Fu Jing's keen perception, it would be normal for her to be discovered as soon as she showed her face.
Half an hour later, the wedding banquet gradually came to an end, and people began to come downstairs.
As the hostess, Su Wantang stayed by the side of Lu Yuanzhou and Wen Wanqing, a polite and distant smile on her lips as she saw off one guest after another.
Another ten minutes or so passed, and all the guests had left. Just as Su Wantang was about to go home with her family, Fu Jing suddenly stood up and stopped her at the door.
Everyone was taken aback and looked at the strange man who had suddenly appeared.
Fu Jing took out his work ID and introduced himself: "Uncle, Aunt, I am Fu Jing from the Public Security Brigade. I have some official business to discuss with Comrade Su Wantang."
Her tone was very businesslike, and there wasn't a single fault to it, but Wen Wanqing still felt that something was off. She didn't make a decision for Su Wantang, but turned to look at her and asked softly, "Wantang?"
As if afraid that Su Wantang would refuse, Fu Jing moved his lips again.
"It's about Song Wanying."
Su Wantang's expression changed drastically: "Dad, Mom, you go back first. I'll talk to Captain Fu."
Others may not know Fu Jing's identity, but Xia Bao does. At the crucial moment, he stepped forward and said, "Sister-in-law, I'll go with you. It'll be safe."
Coupled with his wary gaze, it was practically a clear statement that Fu Jing was a wolf with ill intentions.
Wen Wanqing suddenly realized and couldn't help but take a few more glances at Fu Jing.
They have a good eye, actually.
She cleared her throat and corrected, "Call me Aunt Wen, I'm Grandma Tangtang."
"Tangtang, you two talk, your parents are going back now." Wen Wanqing pulled Xia Bao along as she left.
Xia Bao gritted her teeth and whispered, "Third Aunt, he has ill intentions."
"I know."
Xia Bao's eyes widened: "You know, you also..."
Wen Wanqing said firmly, "If you go with me, it means you don't believe me, and it means you have doubts."
"Or rather...you don't trust your cousin's character?"
Xia Bao choked: "I didn't."
He muttered to himself, "It's all because my cousin told me to take good care of my cousin's wife."
His voice was low and rapid, and Wen Wanqing didn't quite catch what he said: "What did you say?"
"go home."
-
"Shall we go in for a cup of tea?" Fu Jing suggested.
Su Wantang nodded: "Go ahead, what happened to Song Wanying this time?"
"She's fine."
Su Wantang's anger subtly rose: "Are you playing me?"
Fu Jing poured her a cup of tea and explained, "You can't refuse this reason, and at the same time, it won't cause you any unnecessary trouble."
Fu Jing, who said this, was unaware that even after going to such lengths, he still couldn't prevent it.
Not far away.
"They're a perfect match."
A colleague passing by with a dish frowned: "Huihui, what are you standing there looking like a lovesick fool for? Hurry up and serve the guests—"
The woman named Huihui pointed to the table where Su Wantang and Fu Jing were sitting: "Look over there?"
The colleague frowned even more. If she remembered correctly, Comrade Su's husband, Comrade Lu, had not come today.
"A handsome man and a beautiful woman, what a perfect couple."
A colleague whispered a reprimand: "Huihui, don't talk nonsense. Comrade Su's husband didn't come today."
"Of course I know." Huihui rolled her eyes. "He said he had something to do, and I was even feeling indignant for such a beautiful Comrade Su. I didn't expect him to rush over as soon as the wedding banquet was over."
"However, Comrade Su is clearly angry, but he'll have to coax him."
"Hehe, time to pour the tea."
My colleague said coldly, "Stop pouring tea. All I know is that if you don't go upstairs to serve tea soon, the guests will complain about you."
Huihui glanced longingly at the two very attractive people sitting by the window, then stomped her feet and left.
Su Wantang chuckled, somewhat exasperated: "So, I should thank you?"
"It's a bit early now," Fu Jing calmly took a sip of tea. "We can do it in a bit."
Su Wantang: "..."
“Lu Huai’an didn’t come today.” Fu Jing stated the fact calmly. Su Wantang felt puzzled, frowned, and said impatiently, “What exactly are you trying to say?”
Fu Jing had worked in the Public Security Bureau for many years and had interrogated many criminals, so he could read faces and understand people quite well.
She wasn't angry, nor was she sad...
I just don't like him.
He pressed the tip of his tongue against his back teeth and let out an almost inaudible "fuck".
"Lu Huainan and his wife are planning to instigate Huaibei to ask the old man for money."
Su Wantang was stunned for a moment, clearly not expecting that Fu Jing had come to tell her this.
Grandpa's condition has worsened again.
He can't remember many things from his past.
Today, my eldest cousin has been keeping a close eye on things. If Lu Yuanzhou's family makes another scene, it might upset Grandpa again.
She is not confident that she can have the surgery now.
"Thanks."
"Verbal thanks are not sincere."
Su Wantang raised an eyebrow at Fu Jing, sensing that he was acting strangely today.
"I drank three pots of water."
"I've already given out the red envelopes, and my pockets are empty. I'd like to trouble Comrade Su to pay the bill."
"Can."
"I'll go first."
Fu Jing walked away decisively. If one ignored the uncontrollable upward curve of his lips, he might have seemed to be just as businesslike as he was, walking with the stride of a shooting star.
Su Wantang swallowed back the words that were about to come out, she still wanted to ask 'why'?
Suddenly, Fu Jing's words from noon, "We can barely be considered friends," floated into my mind again.
