Her fair skin, coated with a thin layer of powder, resembled a delicious peach, tempting one to pick it.
The low-frequency sympathetic current spread throughout her limbs and bones, and Su Wantang couldn't help but tilt her head to the side.
Lu Huai'an ground his teeth together, and the words came out of his mouth in a hoarse tone, intermittently.
"right!"
"I'm jealous."
Su Wantang blushed and her lips curled up like shrimp. She scolded, "Lu Huai'an! Stop right now!"
Lu Huai'an paused mischievously.
"Wantang, is that so?"
His lips parted, but his hot breath still sprayed onto the skin of her neck, stirring the fine hairs on the surface of her skin and causing a slight shiver.
"Lu Huai'an—"
Lu Huai'an seized the opportunity, pressed his lips against hers, and continued to tease those delicate, luscious lips.
......
When Su Wantang arrived at Xu Feng's office door again, the heat in her ears had not yet dissipated.
Knock knock.
"Come in."
Su Wantang closed the door, but Xu Feng, still shaken, stopped her.
"Wantang, keep the door open."
Su Wantang paused, a hint of guilt flashing in her eyes. Director Xu was a good person, and it was all because of her that she was implicated.
"Director, I'm sorry, it's all my fault, I've dragged you into this."
Xu Feng wasn't someone who couldn't distinguish right from wrong. He turned cold and said, "What are you saying? The ones who are wrong are those bad people who only know how to be jealous of others being better than themselves, but can't see the efforts others put in!"
"And if it weren't for you..." Xu Feng blushed as he recalled the embarrassing scene, "my life would have been ruined."
Although Xu Feng had only been at the hospital for a short time, he was worthy of being called "teacher" by Su Wantang. Therefore, seeing that Xu Feng didn't blame her at all, Su Wantang felt a warmth in her heart.
"Director, you're too kind. I just did what I was supposed to do. Besides, if it weren't for your office and the recorder, things wouldn't have gone so smoothly."
Speaking of the tape recorder, Xu Feng chuckled. He hadn't expected that what he originally intended as just checking on his wife's household items every now and then would come in so useful today.
Knowing Su Wantang's personality, Xu Feng didn't argue with her anymore and sighed.
"Before, I thought you were just being stubborn and didn't want to let me leave the hospital, but today..."
Xu Feng paused for a moment: "Wantang, at your age, you are considered a leading figure in traditional Chinese medicine. Now that you've left the hospital, are you planning to return to the field of traditional Chinese medicine?"
"yes."
Thinking about the current situation, Xu Feng wanted to say something, but the image of Lu Huai'an supporting him today involuntarily popped into his mind, and he pursed his lips.
"Keep it up!"
"The things our ancestors used were not bad!"
Xu Feng's words carried a sense of sorrow for the country's inability to fight back, as well as a suppressed resentment, which touched Su Wantang deeply.
"Director, I will."
"Where's your resignation letter?"
Su Wantang took out her resignation letter and handed it over. As Xu Feng was signing it, she suddenly spoke up.
"Director, the person who stopped people outside at noon was Zheng Yue, the head nurse. She has been a nurse at the hospital for many years. I wonder if we could give her a chance to become a medical assistant in the surgery department?"
"I'll talk to the hospital director in a bit and have another doctor take care of her."
"Thank you, Director."
After leaving the office, Su Wantang did not leave the hospital immediately, but instead tidied up her things.
Xu Feng acted quickly; in less than half an hour, Zheng Yue was brought to the office, and Su Wantang handed over the notes she had made.
"Thank you." Zheng Yue's eyes were slightly red.
Xu Feng told her that he was able to come here this time because of Su Wantang.
Zheng Yue never expected that Su Wantang would take her joke to heart.
Su Wantang smiled and said, "No need to thank me, you deserve it."
After explaining things to Zheng Yue, Su Wantang left the hospital.
Of course, before leaving the hospital, Su Wantang went to the cafeteria to tell Huo Xiaoyan that Liu Cuicui had been arrested. After Huo Xiaoyan left in a panic, Su Wantang told Liu Dazhuang that Su Yue had been arrested and couldn't get out.
Liu Dazhuang was a smart man. If Su Yue hadn't interfered, he would have reserved the lucrative kitchen job for his own family. Now, upon hearing Su Wantang's words, he immediately understood and repeatedly assured her that the cafeteria wouldn't hire any shady people.
Su Wantang left satisfied.
Afterwards, Su Wantang guessed that Liu Cuicui had drugged the food with those underhanded drugs, but out of caution, she threw the food away immediately.
Without evidence, and with so many people and eyes in the cafeteria, there was nothing that could be done to Liu Cuicui, so Su Wantang didn't mention that she had been drugged.
But this doesn't mean that Su Wantang will let Liu Cuicui off the hook.
Let Huo Xiaoyan, that wicked mother-in-law, deal with her!
Seeing that it was still early, Su Wantang went to the county town to buy some vegetables, planning to cook something delicious for dinner.
But just as she finished cooking, there was a knock on the courtyard gate.
"Sister-in-law, this is Xiao Li. The battalion commander has gone on a mission. He left in a hurry and asked me to tell you."
Su Wantang paused for a moment before saying, "Thank you."
"Well, sister-in-law, if there's nothing else, I'll be going now."
"Xiao Li, right? Wait a minute."
Su Wantang cooked too much food for one person to finish. Rather than letting it spoil, she decided to give it to the soldiers who were protecting their country.
She went back inside, found a lunchbox, and scooped out the extra rice.
"Your sister-in-law just finished cooking. Look how sweaty you are. You probably haven't eaten yet. Here, take this home and eat it."
Xiao Li quickly refused: "Sister-in-law, no, the battalion commander won't let me off if he finds out."
"How could that be? Your battalion commander isn't a petty person."
"Yes, it will." Xiao Li nodded seriously. "Last time, I heard that my sister-in-law smiled at Brother Liu Hu, and the battalion commander gave him a whole night of ideological and political education."
