Chapter 71 "Yun Tangyin, you will not die well!"
Xu Runli's nails dug deep into the cracks in the blue bricks, and the coal dust that seeped through her fingers was like a stain that could not be washed off.
She stared at the paint-chipped porcelain statue of Kitchen God beside the stove. The corner of the statue's mouth was holding a vague smile, as if it was mocking her current embarrassment.
Jiang Jianhua was stunned when he saw this scene.
Although she didn't know what old grudges there were between the two of them, she had already figured something out when she heard the word "IOU"...
"I'm telling you!" she suddenly shouted, her voice hoarse as sandpapered iron. "I, Xu Runli, slipped a letter of denunciation into the army's suggestion box in the middle of the night, intending to ruin Yun Tangyin's reputation. I also instigated Jiang Jianhua to seize the account book, hoping to unleash unrest in the Fu family!"
As soon as the first sentence came out, Jiang Jianhua turned his face away and didn't dare to listen. These words were like red-hot irons, burning his ears.
The steam had not yet dissipated, making Xu Runli's voice muffled, and every word hit the ground, splashing fine dust.
Yun Tangyin leaned against the stove, turning the shovel in her hand. The cold light of the shovel's edge reflected in her eyes: "Go on. Tell me clearly why you did this. Is it really for Jiang Jianhua, or for your own shameful thoughts."
Xu Runli's shoulders trembled violently, her forehead resting against the cold blue bricks. Humiliation seeped down her knees and into her bones. "I'm jealous of you! I'm jealous that you're Yun Zhixiong's daughter, that you can marry into the Fu family, and that even if you're not the eldest daughter, you're living a more respectable life than me!"
She suddenly raised her head, tears mixed with coal dust in her eyes, forming black streaks. "I've watched you wear new clothes and eat white steamed buns since I was a child, and I can only pick up what you left! Why should you still be able to stand now, but I have to kneel?"
"Because I'm not like you, living like a rat in the gutter." Yun Tangyin put the shovel on the stove, making a harsh clash. "I married into the Fu family because Fu Yucheng was willing to marry me. If you really have backbone, you should earn a decent living for yourself instead of kneeling on the ground like you are now, counting other people's faults."
Jiang Jianhua finally couldn't help but speak: "Yin, Yinyin, it's almost done... She's already like this."
She didn't even call Yun Tangyin sister-in-law, but Yinyin.
"Almost?" Yun Tangyin glanced at her. "Last time when she instigated you to secretly change the account book, why didn't you say it was almost done? When she stuffed the letter into the suggestion box last night, why didn't you say it was almost done?"
Jiang Jianhua's face flushed and paled. He squatted down, clutching the corner of his clothes, and his eyes were red. "I just think... we are all relatives, there is no need to make such a fuss."
"Relatives?" Xu Runli suddenly sneered, "She, Jiang Jianhua, treats me as a relative? You're all the same! All the same person!"
"You've put yourself in a lower position than others." Yun Tangyin bent down, picked up the coarse cloth on the ground, and threw it in front of Xu Runli. "Get up. Your head didn't hit you hard, but you made your point clear. Since you're still honest, I can hold off on giving you the IOU for now."
Xu Runli stared at the handkerchief stained with coal dust. Suddenly, like a lit firecracker, she stood up and rushed towards Yun Tangyin: "I asked you to pretend to be kind! I asked you to pretend to be magnanimous!"
Her nails dug into Yun Tangyin's face, but Yun Tangyin grabbed her wrist.
Yun Tangyin used her knuckles to apply force, causing Xu Runli to scream in pain, and her wrist soon turned red.
"Still want to fight?" Yun Tangyin pushed her out the door. "It seems that what I said just now was in vain. People like you insist on digging your way into the mud even when I give you a way out."
Xu Runli was pushed against the door frame and her lower back hit the door latch, causing her to grimace in pain.
She watched Yun Tangyin straighten her wrinkled collar and Jiang Jianhua standing there at a loss. Suddenly, she felt dizzy. She had lost so completely.
"Yun Tangyin," she said, holding onto the door frame to steady herself, her voice filled with a desperate ruthlessness. "Do you think I'll be convinced by this? I'm telling you, I know a secret of yours, a secret that will make Fu Yucheng divorce you immediately!"
Yun Tangyin paused, then sneered: "Oh? Then tell me."
Xu Runli's face froze instantly. Wasn't she afraid at all?
Xu Runli's fingers turned white as she gripped the door frame. The pain in her lower back hadn't subsided yet, and she felt choked by Yun Tangyin's fearless look.
She originally thought that revealing the "secret" would make the other party panic, but she didn't expect that there was not even a ripple in Yun Tangyin's eyes. It was like a cat looking at a mouse jumping under its claws, with eyes full of "Let's see what other tricks you can come up with."
"Stop pretending!" Xu Runli raised her voice, trying to hide her guilt. "Do you really think Fu Yucheng doesn't know about your past? When you were at the Yun family, you...you..."
After talking to you for a long time, Xu Runli still didn't respond.
It’s not that she doesn’t dare to say it, but if she easily reveals this nuclear-level secret now, wouldn’t it give Yun Tangyin time to find a solution?
Xu Runli bit her lip.
Finally, he managed to squeeze out a curse word from between his teeth: "Yun Tangyin! You will die a horrible death!"
Yun Tangyin seemed to be burned by these words, her brows suddenly furrowed, and the iron shovel in her hand slammed on the stove with a "clang", and sparks splashed at Xu Runli's feet.
"Watch your mouth." She took two steps forward, a shadow pressing down on Xu Runli's face. "Do you think that holding back that little shit can save your life? I tell you, even if you run to the regiment headquarters and scream at the top of your lungs, Fu Yucheng will still believe me. Unlike some people, who have to make up lies to coax even their own men."
Xu Runli was frightened by the coldness in her eyes. She subconsciously shrank back, her lower back hitting the door latch, and she gasped in pain: "Don't use Fu Yucheng to pressure me! He believes you now, but he hasn't seen your true face! When I throw out the evidence, he will skin you alive!"
"Evidence?" Yun Tangyin laughed, her voice tinged with icy iciness. "Xu Runli, your tricks are nothing more than playing house in my eyes."
She suddenly raised her voice, deliberately letting the passing military wives outside the courtyard hear: "If you are really capable, go to Fu Yucheng's troops now and tell them that I, Yun Tangyin, am hiding a shameful secret! This will show the whole regiment that you, Xu Runli, dare to treat Fu Yucheng's people badly!"
Jiang Jianhua was so frightened that he quickly went to pull Yun Tangyin: "Are you crazy? How can you say this to others?"
"Why can't I tell you?" Yun Tangyin pulled her hand away, her eyes frighteningly bright. "I'm upright and honest. Even if she makes up a story, Fu Yucheng knows who I am. But you, Jiang Jianhua, do you still think she's a relative? When she cursed me to die a miserable death, did you treat me as a relative?"
Xu Runli's face turned pale and blue.
She heard the voices of military wives greeting her outside the yard, and knew that if she continued to make a fuss, she would be the only one to be embarrassed.
Those so-called "evidences" were nothing but hearsay. If they were brought to the surface, she would definitely be the first to be scolded as a "troublemaker".
"I won't argue with you." Xu Runli clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. "We'll see. The day you're kicked out of the Fu family, I'll burn paper money for you at the door!"
After she finished speaking, she turned around and ran. After she took two steps, she was hit on the back by the spatula thrown by Yun Tangyin.
It was also because she didn't touch the kitchen knife at the moment, otherwise a big kitchen knife would have flown over and cut Xu Runli's head.
