Chapter 75: Let’s try hard to have a child?

Fu Yucheng wiped away her tears with his fingertips, his movements so gentle as if he was afraid of breaking her tears: "Why are you crying? I'm telling the truth."

He lowered his head and kissed her tear marks with a warm touch. "When we have a child, I will teach him how to shoot a gun, how to swim, and how to protect you like a man."

Yun Tangyin burst into laughter after hearing what he said, and punched him: "Who wants to have a child with you?"

She protested, but her hands held him tighter.

"That's not up to you." Fu Yucheng chuckled and bit her earlobe. "When we get back from Songhua River, we'll try our best."

Yun Tangyin's face flushed instantly, and she buried herself in his arms, not daring to look up.

There were two gentle knocks on the door of the wing room, and Song Yushuang's voice came in: "Acheng, Yinyin, it's time for dinner."

"I know, Mom." Fu Yucheng responded, but he didn't let go of the person in his arms. Instead, he whispered in her ear, "Let's continue to talk tonight."

Yun Tangyin pinched him, pushed the door open and walked out with a red face.

Jiang Jianhua had already set the table in the kitchen. When he saw her come in, his eyes were a little evasive, but he still whispered, "Yinyin, come and sit down."

Yun Tangyin nodded and was about to sit down when Fu Yucheng came up from behind and pulled out a chair for her. His movements were so natural as if they had been rehearsed a thousand times.

Song Yushuang saw this and smiled as she picked up a piece of pork ribs for Yun Tangyin: "Eat more to replenish your strength."

"Thank you, Mom." Yun Tangyin took it and passed the ribs to Fu Yucheng, "You eat too. You must be exhausted at the shooting range today."

Fu Yucheng picked it up again and gave it to her: "I'm not tired, you eat it."

As the two of them pushed and shoved each other, Jiang Jianhua suddenly put down his chopsticks and said in a muffled voice, "Yinyin, I'm sorry about what happened this day..."

Yun Tangyin raised her eyes and looked at her: "Why are you saying sorry to me?"

"I shouldn't... I shouldn't always think that Jiang Zhicheng is my brother." Jiang Jianhua's eyes were red. "He said that to you today, and I didn't dare to talk back."

Fu Yucheng was about to speak when Yun Tangyin stopped him with a look.

She poured a bowl of soup for Jiang Jianhua: "He is your brother, it is normal for you to protect him. But protecting him is not indulgence. The Fu family is the Fu family, second sister-in-law, you have to understand this."

Jiang Jianhua nodded and scooped a mouthful of soup: "I understand. If he helps Xu Runli to act wild again in the future, I will be the first to not forgive him."

Song Yushuang sighed beside him, "A harmonious family doesn't mean giving in blindly. Yinyin is right. We need to be firm when we need to be."

She looked at Fu Yucheng and said, "You must protect Yinyin and don't let her suffer any injustice."

"Don't worry, Mom." Fu Yucheng peeled the shrimp for Yun Tangyin. The shrimp meat piled up in her bowl like a small mountain. "If anyone dares to let her suffer, I will break his arm first."

Yun Tangyin glared at him: "We're eating, what nonsense are you talking about?"

She said something angry, but the corners of her mouth curved into crescents.

After dinner, Fu Yucheng helped clean up the dishes while Yun Tangyin fed the chickens in the yard.

The moonlight shone on her, and the silver bracelet reflected the fragmented light.

Fu Yucheng walked over and put his arms around her waist from behind: "What are you thinking about?"

"I'm thinking about the fish in the Songhua River." Yun Tangyin turned around, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Is it really like they say, jumping three feet high?"

"It's even fresher than that." Fu Yucheng smiled and pinched her face. "When the time comes, I'll catch the biggest one for you and ask Lao Zhang to make you some fish stew with two spoonfuls of chili. I guarantee you'll love it."

"How do you know I like spicy food?" Yun Tangyin raised her eyebrows.

"Last time you secretly added chili sauce to the dish, did you think I didn't see it?" Fu Yucheng scratched her nose, "Next time, if you want spicy food, just tell me, no need to hide it."

Yun Tangyin's heart skipped a beat. She thought these were just details, but she didn't expect that he would remember such a small thing.

Just as she was about to say something, she heard footsteps outside the courtyard gate. Yuxia stood at the door holding a lantern: "Yinyin, are you home?"

"I'm here, sister-in-law, come in and sit down." Yun Tangyin went to greet her.

Yu Xia walked in, her eyes swirling between the two of them, and said with a smile, "I just saw Jiang Zhicheng wandering around the alley. I guess he wanted to come look for my second brother's wife, but I said a few words to him and he was rebuked."

Fu Yucheng frowned: "He dares to come?"

"That's right." Yu Xia sat down on the stone bench. "I told him that the Fu family doesn't welcome ignorant people. If you want to apologize, just let your wife come herself. His face turned green and he turned around and left."

Yun Tangyin poured her a cup of hot water: "Thank you, sister-in-law."

"What are you thanking me for?" Yu Xia took a sip of tea. "I've always disliked Xu Runli. She's always gossiping about other people."

Fu Yucheng's face darkened: "What else did she say?"

"Don't take anything he says to heart." Yu Xia glanced at Yun Tangyin, "It's all just idle gossip."

Yun Tangyin held Fu Yucheng's hand and said to Yu Xia, "It's okay, let her talk if she wants. She has the mouth, but others have the ears. It's up to them whether they believe it or not."

Yu Xia sighed, "You're just too open-minded. If it were me, I would have gone to argue with her long ago."

She sat for a while, chatted about some trivial matters at home, and then left.

There were only the two of them left in the yard. Fu Yucheng held Yun Tangyin's hand, his knuckles turning white. "I'm going to find Jiang Zhicheng tomorrow and ask him to control his wife's mouth."

"Don't go." Yun Tangyin shook her head. "She just wants to provoke us so that the Fu and Jiang families can completely fall out and make a fool of herself. We won't be fooled."

Fu Yucheng looked down at her, the moonlight falling on her face making it look particularly gentle: "Are you not angry at all?"

"What's the point of getting angry?" Yun Tangyin laughed, "If I get angry and make myself sick, I'll still need you to take care of me."

She stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the lips, "Besides, with you protecting me, I don't care what others say."

Fu Yucheng's heart softened instantly, and he held her tightly in his arms: "Yinyin, it's great to have you."

The night wind blew in with the fragrance of locust flowers. The two stood in the yard, not saying a word, but feeling full in their hearts.

After a long time, Yun Tangyin finally pushed him and said, "It's late, time to go to bed."

Fu Yucheng picked her up by the waist and strode towards the wing room: "Well, let's continue talking about the child tonight."

Yun Tangyin felt embarrassed and angry in his arms, but couldn't help laughing.

The next morning, before Fu Yucheng left for the army, he pulled Yun Tangyin aside and said, "I've told Lao Zhang from the kitchen to keep two old hens and stew them for you at noon."

"I know. Hurry up and go." Yun Tangyin urged him, "Don't be late."

Fu Yucheng didn't leave, staring into her eyes: "If Jiang Zhicheng comes to make trouble again, ignore him and wait for me to come back."

"Don't worry, I don't bother to pay attention to him." Yun Tangyin pushed him out the door, "Be careful on the road."

Before leaving, Fu Yucheng looked at Yun Tangyin twice more before turning around and leaving.

But the reluctance in his eyes and eyebrows still revealed his emotions.

Yun Tangyin couldn't help but frown when she saw Fu Yucheng like this...

Putting aside other things, Fu Yucheng is indeed a good husband.
