Chapter 77 Jiang Jianhua Kneels Down and Begs

Chapter 77 Jiang Jianhua Kneels Down and Begs

Jiang Jianhua suddenly shook off the cuff that Xu Runli had just grabbed, rubbed it on his collar as if it was stained with something dirty, and forced a smile uglier than crying at Yun Tangyin: "Yinyin, don't take it to heart. I have already drawn a clear line between me and this crazy woman."

Yun Tangyin didn't respond. She simply folded the IOU into a small square and put it back in her pocket. The silver bracelet gleamed coldly in the sunlight. "Second sister-in-law is more sober than I thought."

The wives of the soldiers on the wall hadn't dispersed yet when someone said with a smile, "We should have cut ties with that troublemaker long ago!"

Jiang Jianhua's face flushed red, his head buried almost to his chest, and he kept repeating, "I was confused, I was confused before."

Yun Tangyin turned and walked towards the kitchen, her voice neither too loud nor too low for everyone in the courtyard to hear: "Being confused is not scary, but pretending to be confused is. If Second Sister-in-law was really sober, she would know that some relatives are worse than strangers."

Jiang Jianhua froze in place, looking at Yun Tangyin's back, and suddenly shuddered.

Only then did she understand that Yun Tangyin had seen through her thoughts a long time ago, but she didn't expose them just to save her some dignity.

The source of this respectability is that she is also the daughter-in-law of the Fu family.

Before she could recover, Xu Runli's screams could be heard from outside the courtyard gate again, this time mixed with tears: "Jiang Zhicheng, you bastard! Let go! I'm going back to fight that little bitch!"

Then came Jiang Zhicheng's suppressed roar: "You think this isn't embarrassing enough?!"

The military wives were giggling and clinging to the wall to watch the fun. One of them spat outside the door: "Is Xu Runli crazy? She doesn't even know what the military family compound is like!"

Jiang Jianhua felt a chill down his spine when he heard these words. He quickly picked up a bench from the yard and blocked the door, as if this could stop the pointing and criticizing.

Yun Tangyin heard the noise in the kitchen and came out with the freshly brewed tea. She leaned against the door frame and took a sip slowly. "You can block the door but not the mouth. If Second Sister-in-law was really afraid of gossip, she shouldn't have let the wolf into the house in the first place."

Jiang Jianhua's hand trembled, and the bench fell to the ground with a clang. She turned around and rushed over to grab Yun Tangyin's arm, but she dodged him in disgust.

"Yinyin, please help me!" She cried, "If my mother knew that I helped Xu Runli plot against the Fu family, she would definitely kick me out!"

"It's you or Xu Runli who's plotting against the Fu family?" Yun Tangyin put down her tea bowl, tea foam forming a circle around the rim. "Second sister-in-law, you'd better think carefully before answering. I have a very good memory."

Jiang Jianhua's face instantly lost all color. He remembered the drafts of two accounts that he had secretly revised and still had them under his pillow, and the cloth coupons that Xu Runli had instigated him to hide. Suddenly, he felt his throat tighten and he couldn't breathe.

She slumped to her knees, her knees hitting the bluestone slabs with a dull thud. "I was wrong, Yinyin! It was Xu Runli who forced me to do this!"

A burst of gasps erupted from the wall, and someone exclaimed, "My goodness, you admitted it yourself? The Fu family really raised an ungrateful person!"

Yun Tangyin bent down, grabbed Jiang Jianhua by the back of his collar, and pulled him up like a chicken. "Second sister-in-law is quite skilled at playing the self-torture trick, but it's a pity she's targeting the wrong audience."

She raised her chin towards the main house and said, "If you want to admit your mistake, go tell Mom. She'll have to decide whether to kick you out or not."

Jiang Jianhua followed her gaze and looked at the door curtain of the main room. It was quiet there, as if there was a pair of eyes staring at him coldly. He was so scared that his legs went weak and he wanted to kneel down again, but Yun Tangyin held him tightly.

"Don't act so pretentious here." Yun Tangyin leaned close to her ear, her voice as cold as ice. "If you dare to play tricks again, I will send this 'evidence' to the regiment headquarters and let everyone judge how the Jiang family's daughter-in-law plotted against the military family."

Jiang Jianhua's pupils suddenly contracted, like a snake being pinched at seven inches, and his whole body became as soft as mud.

Only then did she realize that Yun Tangyin had already held the leverage over her, and those words just now were not threats, but naked warnings.

"I... I'll go and apologize to my mother right now." She was shaking like a sieve, and was pushed by Yun Tangyin, staggering towards the main room.

As soon as I reached the door, the door curtain was lifted with a "swish", and Song Yushuang was standing inside the door, with no expression on her face: "No need, I heard everything I should hear."

Jiang Jianhua fell to his knees, tears and snot all over his face. "Mom! I was wrong! I won't do it again! Please forgive me this time!"

Song Yushuang placed the sewing basket on the stone table, and the silver needles scattered out, flashing coldly. "The Fu family doesn't support ungrateful people. If you want to stay, hand over the cloth coupons you hid and the altered accounts. When you pay off the deficit, we can talk about other things."

Jiang Jianhua kowtowed profusely: "I'll pay it! I'll get it now!"

When he got up and ran to the wing, one of his heels fell off. The wives of the soldiers were so amused that one of them laughed and shouted, "He's so afraid that he won't be able to atone for his sins in time!"

Yun Tangyin watched this farce and knocked her empty tea bowl onto the stone table: "Mom is kinder than me."

Song Yushuang glared at her, but a smile was hidden in the corner of his mouth: "With the family at home in turmoil, do you think Ah Cheng can be at ease in the army? Just give him a warning, but if you really drive him out, it will make it seem that the Fu family is intolerant."

"But you have to keep that IOU. If Jiang Zhicheng dares to default on his debt, I will personally go and talk to their leader."

Yun Tangyin smiled and was about to speak when Fu Yucheng's voice suddenly came from outside the courtyard gate, with an anxious tone: "Yinyin! I heard Xu Runli is making trouble again? Are you okay?"

A figure in military uniform strode into the room, his boots making a quick sound on the bluestone slabs. He grabbed Yun Tangyin's arm and looked her up and down. When he saw the red mark on her arm, his brows knitted so tightly that they could kill a mosquito: "Did this crazy woman hurt you again?"

"Stop." Yun Tangyin grabbed his wrist. "What's the big deal for you to get so angry? I've already dealt with him."

She picked out the key points of what happened that morning and specifically mentioned Jiang Jianhua's confession of fault. Fu Yucheng's expression softened a bit, but he still clenched his fists: "I'll go find Jiang Zhicheng later and ask him to pay back the money he owes immediately!"

"No need." Yun Tangyin stood on tiptoe to smooth his wrinkled collar. "I've got the IOU. Whenever I want to make things difficult for him, I can take it out anytime. To deal with this kind of person, you have to have something to hold against him."

Fu Yucheng looked at the cunning in her eyes and suddenly chuckled. He bent down and picked her up horizontally: "My wife is getting more and more powerful."

Yun Tangyin punched him in the chest: "You are so rude in front of Mom!"

Song Yushuang smiled and turned around to fiddle with her needlework: "I'm blind and can't see."

The wives of the soldiers were cheering on the wall, whistling and shouting, "Love your wife!"

Fu Yucheng carried Yun Tangyin to the wing room, his voice full of doting: "It's only natural to love your wife!"
