“I’ll be right here watching you.”
Yan Yu's body stiffened for a moment, then relaxed, letting her cling to him like a little pendant.
His hands didn't stop moving, but the speed was noticeably slower, carrying a hint of indulgent helplessness.
Ruan Tang watched as he cut the meat into long strips, carefully rubbed it with salt and spices, threaded it with cotton thread, and hung it on the horizontal bar by the window.
"Brother, shall we make cured pork and sausages?"
"Mmm," Yan Yu responded, the vibration of his chest clearly reaching her face. "It can be dried in the space, so it'll be quick. Make more, you like it."
He then took out the cleaned sausage casings and began stuffing them with meat filling.
His fingers were long and strong, and he was exceptionally patient with this kind of meticulous work. Before long, plump sausages were formed.
There are pure meat options, as well as spicy ones with added mutant chili peppers.
Ruan Tang stared wide-eyed, drool involuntarily dripping from the corner of her mouth.
She felt that she couldn't help at all and was only causing trouble, so she simply moved a small stool to the side and sat down to supervise the work with a clear conscience.
Just then, a white figure darted in from outside the door and landed steadily on Ruan Tang's lap.
It's a newbie.
It did a great job yesterday, and today it stands tall and straight.
With its two tiny mithril claws on its hips, head held high and chest puffed out, its dark purple eyes darting around, it looked just like a big landowner inspecting his own granary.
It first jumped onto the cutting board, stretched out its precious little nose, sniffed at the sausages that Yan Yu had just made, and then curled its lips in disgust.
It's as if to say: The taste is alright, but the cooking skills are a bit lacking.
Then, it darted over to the puppet grandma, circled the dough twice, and brushed it with the tip of its tail.
He had an arrogant expression that said, "It's barely passable."
After finishing its inspection, it jumped back onto Ruan Tang's lap with satisfaction, took out a juicy spirit fruit from its dimensional pouch, and stuffed it into Ruan Tang's mouth with a "squeak".
"Little master, eat mine! Mine is the best!"
That intense possessiveness and boastfulness left Ruan Tang both amused and exasperated.
She had just opened her mouth to catch the sweet spiritual fruit when she felt a weight sink beneath her feet.
A fluffy orange ball of fluff appeared silently in the kitchen without anyone noticing.
It was Daju that had just finished its seclusion.
After its breakthrough, it grew even larger and its aura became more restrained. However, its golden tiger eyes were fixed on the bowls of meat on the cutting board, and a muffled, gurgling sound filled with longing came from its throat.
Xiaobai instantly bristled!
It leaped from Ruan Tang's lap to the ground, blocking Da Ju's path. Its white fur stood on end, its tail swung like a small windmill, and it made threatening squeaks.
"What are you looking at! These all belong to the little master! You fat cat, don't even think about touching them!"
The orange cat lazily lifted its eyelids and glanced at it, its eyes filled with disregard for a noisy little mouse.
It was too lazy to even move, its gaze fixed back on the meat, its mouth practically watering.
Xiao Bai felt that his status as a mouse had been greatly insulted!
It darted forward and tried to pluck the big orange's whiskers with its two tiny mithril paws.
Yan Yu was faster than it.
He merely glanced at them indifferently, yet an invisible pressure enveloped the rat and the tiger.
Little White froze on the spot, its fur drooping limply. It squeaked pitifully and scurried back to Ruan Tang's feet, rubbing its little head against her trouser leg for comfort. (This chapter has been read. Please click the next chapter to continue reading!)
