Just as Jin Yuhong was about to burst into a tirade, she caught a glimpse of Gu Jinzhou on the other side of the wall out of the corner of her eye.
Her face changed instantly.
One second he was like a mad dog, the next he was squeezing out tears.
"Brother Jinzhou..."
The voice was so sweet that Lin Xiangnan almost threw up her dinner.
"Shut the fuck up!" she roared, finally losing her temper. "You're flirting with my friend's fiancé in my own backyard! Have you no shame?!"
Provoked by these words, Jin Yuhong stopped pretending and struggled wildly in Lin Xiangnan's hands: "Let me go! I'm not looking for you!"
"You're banging on my door if you don't come to me?!" Lin Xiangnan tightened his grip and shouted even louder than she did.
"I...I..." Jin Yuhong's eyes darted around, and she began to play the victim, "I thought that shameless Shen Yishan was staying here to seduce Brother Jinzhou every day! I'm just doing what's right!"
Lin Xiangnan was amused by this absurd logic.
"Bullshit!" she cursed. "This is Shen Yishan's room! Your Jinzhou brother lives next door! You crazy woman, if your eyes aren't working, go get them fixed, and get out of here!"
I hated Lin Xiangnan, that troublemaker, in my previous life, and I'm even more damn annoyed by him in this one!
New and old grudges surged up at once, and Jin Yuhong screamed, her fingernails like five small knives, aiming straight for Lin Xiangnan's face!
Can Lin Xiangnan really accept this loss?
The two women instantly began to fight, pulling hair, pinching arms, and tearing clothes! Dust filled the yard, and the woman's screams and curses mingled together.
Inside the house, Shen Yishan heard Jin Yuhong's slanderous accusations that distorted the truth, and then saw Lin Xiangnan fighting like this for her sake. A surge of blood rushed to her head.
She couldn't hold back any longer!
He flung open the door with a whoosh and rushed out, his eyes red!
She wasn't very strong, but her nails were freshly trimmed. She rushed up and, without saying a word, started scratching Jin Yuhong's face!
"ah--!"
The courtyard was in complete chaos.
Jin Zhihong paced anxiously nearby, crying and shouting, but she couldn't get a word in edgewise.
At the entrance of the alley, a large group of commune members and educated youth gathered, pointing and gesturing at the courtyard.
Gu Jinzhou stood by the wall, listening to the surrounding discussions about "love triangles" and "stealing men," and his mother Jin Yuhong's cries of "Brother Jinzhou." He felt his face turn pale and then red, burning intensely.
He wished he could dig a hole and crawl into it right now!
"Enough! All of you, stop right now!"
A thunderous roar came from the alley entrance.
Captain Chen Fengshan, his face dark, strode in, his large, fan-like hands pushing through the crowd.
His piercing gaze swept over the three wrestling figures, finally settling on Jin Yuhong like a nail.
"We're so busy with the autumn harvest that we barely have time to breathe, yet you have time to make a fool of yourselves here!"
The murderous aura emanating from Chen Fengshan, as if he had crawled out of a pile of corpses, instantly froze the entire courtyard.
