The warm breath brushed against my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.

Yan Yu did not let Ruan Tang sit directly on the ground.
He pulled two thick prayer cushions out of his basket as if by magic.
He carefully laid one cushion under Ruan Tang and made sure she was seated before sitting down on another cushion next to her.
Once Ruan Tang touched the soft cushion, she didn't want to move anymore. She felt every bone in her body go limp, and she lazily leaned against Yan Yu's strong arms.
Yan Yu reached into the basket with remarkable ease, and using the basket as cover, took out an enormous enamel mug filled with well water and a handkerchief from the space.
He opened the enamel mug, poured in some cool well water, and meticulously washed his hands.
Then, the handkerchief is soaked and wrung out.
He carefully cupped Ruan Tang's small face and gently wiped it with the cool, damp cloth.
From her smooth forehead to her delicate nose and exquisite chin.
Every inch of his skin was gently caressed by him with the utmost tenderness.
After wiping her face, he took her small hands and cleaned her fingernails thoroughly.
After doing all this, he finally took a covered bamboo basket out of his backpack with satisfaction.
As soon as the bamboo basket was opened, a fragrant aroma of food wafted out, following Yan Yu's movements.
Inside were three gleaming aluminum lunchboxes.
Inside the two lunchboxes were plump, round balls of white rice, the grains glistening and translucent, gleaming enticingly in the sunlight.
In the other lunchbox were neatly cut pieces of chilled rice cake, resembling jade, with several fresh, peeled cucumber strips placed beside them.
This lavish lunch stood in stark contrast to everything around it.
Lin Xiangnan was struggling to tear apart a coarse grain and vegetable dumpling that was so hard it hurt her teeth. The dumpling was rough and hard, and it made her throat hurt.
Upon smelling the fragrance, her eyes widened instantly.
Shen Yishan, clutching the coarse grain vegetable ball with a tooth mark in her hand, looked at the rice ball in Ruan Tang's hand, her eyes reddened, and tears almost rolled down her cheeks again.
