Chapter 53 Full Moon Party (1/2)

"Mom, I'm fine. I'm in good health." Liu Shuning couldn't stay in the room anymore, so he wanted to go out and get some fresh air.

"You can't be exposed to the wind during confinement. Even though you don't feel any discomfort now, you will regret it when you are old and sick all over." Mother Lu didn't sit well during confinement before, and now she can't even straighten her waist after squatting for a long time. She didn't want her daughter-in-law to go through the same hardships she had gone through before.

"Wife, listen to your mother and go back to the house quickly." Lu Fengnian was also worried about Liu Shuning's health. Aunt Yang had said similar things before, but his wife seemed to have ignored her words.

Liu Shuning glared at Lu Fengnian indignantly, "If you want me to say it,"

"Shunning, tell me if that brat Lu Fengnian treats you badly. I said before that I would come over to take care of you during your confinement, but he refused without even a second thought."

Regardless of whether her daughter-in-law knows or not, she should bring it up first that she doesn't need to come and take care of her during the confinement period.

In order to avoid any conflicts between the two in the future, he brought up the fact that she refused to come and help her daughter-in-law with her confinement.

"Mom, Fengnian is very good to me. We don't need you to come and take care of me during the confinement period because we don't want you to be so tired. Besides, after you come, what will Dad do at home alone?" Liu Shuning explained with a smile when she saw that her mother-in-law was not really angry.

"Your father is doing well at home. The second brother and his wife will take good care of him."

Mother Lu thought for a moment and continued, "Shuning, I know you are worried about your father being alone at home, but your confinement is also very important! After you are out of confinement, if you don't want me to stay and take care of the child, then I will go back."

"Thank you, mom. You are so kind to me." Liu Shuning hugged Lu's mother's arm and started to act coquettishly.

"You are such a sweet kid." Seeing that her daughter-in-law accepted her, Mother Lu smiled happily.

Lu Fengnian was relieved when he saw that the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law did not quarrel. He had seen his mother and grandmother conflicting with each other since he was a child, and he was really worried that his wife and his mother would also dislike each other.

After dinner, Lu's mother sent Lu Fengnian to sleep in the next room, and she stayed with the child to keep watch at night.

Mother Lu was much more skilled in taking care of children than Lu Fengnian. As soon as the twins cried, she knew what they wanted to do. Liu Shuning finally slept well at night.

Early the next morning, Lu Fengnian was sent to training by his mother. It was enough for her and Aunt Yang to take care of the child at home.

After sleeping well at night, Liu Shuning felt a bit bored during the day, so he could only sneak into the space to play when no one was in the room.

"Tongzi, do you have any TV series or something? I'm really bored!"

[If you feel bored, I can read to you. What book do you want to read? ]

"Are there any novels? I really miss a certain tomato novel right now."

[Yes, do you want to listen to Dream of the Red Chamber? ]

"That's fine, as long as it can kill some time."

In the following days, Liu Shuning pretended to sleep during the day and asked the system to read novels to her. After finishing Dream of the Red Chamber, she read Journey to the West, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Water Margin. She was out of confinement before she finished reading the four great classics.

The twins' full moon party was not a big one-month celebration; only Lu Fengnian's leaders and a few close comrades were invited.

Early that morning, Lu's mother boiled a large pot of mugwort water and let Liu Shuning take a comfortable bath.

When the twins were born, they weighed only a little over four pounds. After a month of nursing, they were almost as big as normal children.
