After the second day of the Chinese New Year, the family compound was bustling for a few days, but after a heavy snowfall, it returned to peace.
At the end of February, Lu Fengji went to take up another post, and Pan Jiandang accompanied him.
Liu Shufeng was in the third trimester of pregnancy, so Pan Jiandang was not supposed to go on the mission. However, since the mission location happened to be in his hometown, he had to go with her.
Before he left, he entrusted Liu Shufeng to Aunt Yang to help look after her. His wife's due date was this month, and he was really worried about no one looking after her.
Days passed one by one, and on March 20th, Liu Shufeng's water broke.
She held onto the wall and slowly walked out of the yard. Just when she was about to go out, Liu Shuning came to see her.
"Sister Xiaofeng, why did you come out? Are you about to give birth?"

Dr. Su is a doctor in the medical room and also a midwife.
Liu Shuning quickly took the child to Aunt Yang's house, and then ran to the medical room in a hurry.
Although she had given birth before, she had natural birth pills and went to the hospital, so she was not afraid at all.
Liu Shufeng was different from her. She didn't take any natural birth pills, and her water broke first, which was much more terrifying than her situation.
"Doctor Su, Doctor Su, please come with me quickly. Captain Pan's wife is about to give birth." Liu Shuning rushed to the medical room, pulled Doctor Su, who was resting, and was about to walk out.
"Wait for me, I need to bring the birthing equipment."
No matter how hard Dr. Su tried, she couldn't break free from Liu Shuning's hand. She felt like her hand was about to break.
"Hurry up then, she's bleeding."
"It's normal for the water to break before giving birth. She can't give birth that quickly," Dr. Su has delivered so many babies, and it's rare for the first baby to be born within two hours.
She went back to the medical room, took her medical kit, and then followed Liu Shuning to the family quarters.
When they arrived at Liu Shufeng's house, Aunt Yang had already helped the woman in labor to lie on the bed in the guest room next door.
She was busy boiling water in the kitchen. The pot at Liu Shufeng's house was too small, and she was afraid that there would not be enough hot water, so she went home and brought a thermos.
"It's only two fingers dilated, it's still too early. Someone go and cook her a bowl of noodles so she won't be too hungry and have too much energy to give birth later." Doctor Su said this to Liu Shuning and Aunt Yang.
"I'll go. I can't help much here. I'll go back and kill a chicken to make soup for her."
Half of the chickens in Liu Shuning's house have been sold to Liu Shufeng, and she just helps to feed them.
"Send the first and second troops over to help pluck the chickens. They should be back by now."
Today was Sunday, Dajun and Erjun went out to play, and they were not at home just now.
"Okay, it just happens that I don't like plucking chicken roe." Liu Shuning didn't intend to be polite. The three brothers of the Hu family were quite capable and they could do all the housework at home.
