Shu Ying felt the pressure was like an invisible mountain pressing down on her.
She slowly exhaled.
She had no choice but to go through with it, even if it seemed impossible.
Just as Shu Ying was about to get up, Du Zhiwei, with a serious expression, began to give her instructions.
"What are you waiting for? Director Wu wants you to step in. Go now! Do you want to leave the Soviet side without a job?"
Without any hesitation, she reached out and snatched the documents from Shu Ying's hand.
"You don't need to worry about this anymore. Just leave your work to me and Zhou Weizhou. You don't need to do anything here, so hurry up and get back there!"
"Let me tell you, when you get there you have to be very careful with your words. Think every word through before you speak. It's not like before, where you could translate however you wanted. You..."
Shu Ying glanced at her speechlessly.
This Du Zhiwei, her intentions are good, but she always speaks in such an annoying way, with an air of arrogance.
I wonder when I'll be able to get rid of this bad habit.
Now was not the time to argue, and Shu Ying was too lazy to pay attention to her. Before she could finish speaking, without even glancing at her, she calmed her breathing and got up to walk over.
Du Zhiwei pursed her lips from behind.
"What kind of attitude is that! Not even a reply."
Under the scrutinizing gazes of everyone, Shu Ying walked over, feeling immense pressure.
Director Wu's expression wasn't much more relaxed than Shu Ying's; he patted Shu Ying on the shoulder.
"Xiao Shu, I'm leaving this place to you. Don't be nervous, I have faith in your abilities."
"If you have any problems, come to me anytime. Don't worry, you can definitely do it."
Shu Ying nodded.
"Please rest assured, Director Wu, I will do my best."
Director Wu felt much more at ease seeing that although she was a little nervous, she was still quite composed in her speech and behavior and did not lose her composure.
For young people of this age, attending a meeting of this level for the first time is already quite an achievement to remain calm, let alone being pulled into the fray at the last minute. Maintaining a normal level of thinking is already a challenge.
It's rare to see someone like Shu Ying who doesn't look much different from usual.
Just as she had imagined, this girl had a strong mentality and was a promising talent.
Director Wu patted Shu Ying on the shoulder again to encourage her, then turned and returned to his seat as the military representative.
Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Shu Ying maintained her usual demeanor and smile, steadily walked to the seat of the Soviet representative, and sat down in the place of the translator who had just collapsed.
Several Soviet representatives couldn't help but turn around to observe her, their brows furrowing slightly.
It's as if they're questioning whether such a young and beautiful girl can really handle this job.
Before Shu Ying could speak, Howard and Lusca began praising her without hesitation.
“We know this Ms. Shu Ying. Her translation skills are excellent. When we first arrived in China, we encountered some difficulties, and she came to help us with the translation…”
"Moreover, she had studied abroad before and is a very outstanding woman."
Lusca and Howard enthusiastically helped Shu Ying explain, frequently giving her a thumbs-up, their words full of affirmation of Shu Ying's skill level.
While listening, the other members of the Su team couldn't help but turn their heads to look at Shu Ying with suspicion, still subconsciously doubting what Lusca and Howard had said.
However, this doubt was quickly dispelled at the beginning of the next meeting.
