Wang Yayun made up her mind and resolutely turned her gaze away from Xie Mingzhu, her eyes even carrying a hint of disdain and disgust.
Just as she was about to return to her son's side to comfort him, she turned around and suddenly found herself face to face with Shu Ying.
Those sharp and insightful eyes seemed to see right through her, inside and out.
Wang Yayun suddenly jolted awake and blinked rapidly a few times, feeling somewhat guilty.
Shu Ying had just seen her staring at her sister, her eyes darting around as she plotted something, and she knew that she definitely didn't have good intentions. She guessed that she was trying to scheme against her sister again, but after thinking about it, she felt disgusted.
She wasn't entirely sure at first, but when Wang Yayun met her gaze and looked guilty, Shu Ying instantly became certain.
She gave a forced, insincere smile.
"Oh, what are you plotting with all this anger and anxiety? You're not thinking of finding a new wife for your son again, are you?"
Wang Yayun was stunned for a moment, looking flustered as if her thoughts had been seen through.
Shu Ying chuckled.
"Oh dear, I forgot. You just said that Xie Wanying is your family's daughter for life, a good daughter-in-law for life. You won't abandon her for such a small thing, right?"
"Otherwise, what would you become? Wouldn't you become opportunists who use people when they need them and then discard them when they don't, sycophants who fawn over the powerful?"
"If you don't keep your word, what's the difference between talking and farting?"
Wang Yayun's face was a little pale.
The neighbors around couldn't help but smirk to themselves.
Wang Yayun looked somewhat embarrassed and glared at Shu Ying with a hint of resentment.
