Chapter 7 Amnesia and Mistaken Identity (1/2)

The man gently blew on it and then carefully wiped the pocket watch clean with his sleeve.

The pocket watch was exquisitely crafted and looked like an old artifact. The man opened the pocket watch, and inside was a photo of Shu Ying.

The little girl in the photo smiles as brightly and radiantly as a rose. She has long, straight hair and a lively yet intelligent expression, looking like a young lady from a prestigious family.

His head suddenly started to ache even more, and the man clenched one fist and lightly tapped his temple twice.

"Who am I? I don't remember anything."

He stroked the photo with one hand: "Who is this girl? What is our relationship? Why do I have this?"

These problems came one after another, like a tidal wave.

He didn't know his own name or where he was from; the surroundings felt completely unfamiliar to him.

The man looked down at his clothes and shoes, which were in such a sorry state that they could only be described as tattered, as if he had just been through a major battle.

Looking down at the photo on the pocket watch, the man took a deep breath and tried to recall the person's appearance, but still couldn't remember anything.

But it was Shu Ying's serene smile in the photo, and the way she looked at the camera, that touched him deeply.

"Although I don't know what our relationship is, you must be someone very important to me. Otherwise, why would I feel so close to you even though I've forgotten everything?"

He carefully fastened the pocket watch, secretly making up his mind: "We will definitely meet again, and I will definitely find out who you really are."

The pocket watch was beside him when he woke up.

He simply assumed that it was something that had fallen off him.

He held the small pocket watch in his hand and carefully placed it into the inside pocket of his clothes.

I will get out of this place!

Suddenly, he became more determined. The place was desolate, but fortunately, the terrain was relatively high, and he could see houses not far ahead.

The houses are lined up one after another, so there must be a village in front of them.

He stumbled forward.

At the same time, Shu Ying had already arrived at the dock.

Before the car had even come to a complete stop, Shu Ying jumped out impatiently, making the driver's heart leap into his throat.

Shu Ying hurriedly took out a bill from her pocket: "Thank you, sir, no need for change."

Before her startled master could even speak, she vanished like a wisp of mist.

It was already past ten o'clock, and she needed to hurry. Shu Ying went to the ticket office at the pier to inquire about the ferries to the port city.
