Chapter 310: Punished for Fighting (2/2)

An hour later, Zhang Jianjun and Hu Xingbang were both sent to the battalion commander's office.

Captain Yang was very angry. He glared at Zhang Jianjun and asked him, "Why are you two fighting?"

"I."

Since it concerns Jiang Ting, Zhang Jianjun would never tell anyone about it no matter what.

Seeing that Hu Xingbang didn't say anything, Captain Yang asked Hu Xingbang again, "Hu Xingbang, tell me, why did you fight?"

"I didn't fight him. I don't know why. I just hit him whenever he saw me. I know fighting is wrong, but I didn't fight back. He was the one hitting me the whole time."

He glanced at Zhang Jianjun, wondering if he would tell him about Jiang Ting.

Zhang Jianjun's face was gloomy, his lips were tightly pursed, and he showed no intention of defending himself.

Hu Xingbang was happy, and since Zhang Jianjun kept silent, he could do whatever he wanted.

Someone has already checked them. Zhang Jianjun has no injuries, but Hu Xingbang has injuries.

In other words, when they were fighting, Hu Xingbang really didn't fight back at all.

Captain Yang asked again, "Then why do you think he hit you?"

"Him." Hu Xingbang acted a bit timid. "I don't know. Maybe Captain Zhang doesn't like me and wants to teach me a lesson."

"Hu Xingbang!" Zhang Jianjun looked at him angrily.

Hu Xingbang knew that Zhang Jianjun would not tell the real reason, so he framed Zhang Jianjun to death.

"Jianjun, did I offend you in some way before? You can just tell me directly. Even if you want to hit me, you have to let me know. I really don't know how I did anything to offend you. You hit me for no reason, and I feel very wronged."

Zhang Jianjun gnashed his teeth in hatred, but he still didn't tell the real reason.

Hu Xingbang was smug to death: "Battalion Commander, Company Commander Zhang didn't say anything, so I must be bothering him. But I don't know what I did wrong. If he tells me, I will definitely change it."

His humble and sincere attitude only made Zhang Jianjun seem even more arrogant, unreasonable, and bad.

"Jianjun, let me ask you again, what exactly happened? You unilaterally attacked Comrade Hu Xingbang. There must be a reason."

If the reasons Zhang Jianjun gave were reasonable, the punishment he received might be lighter. If he really had no choice but to beat Hu Xingbang, he might not be punished.

But Zhang Jianjun shook his head and said, "I beat him, I beat him. I have nothing to say."

"Jianjun, do you know the consequences of doing this? If there really is a conflict between you two, you can speak up."

"Nothing." He still insisted on not telling the real reason.

Captain Yang slammed his palm on the table in anger. "Hey, this is your company commander whom I brought up. Since that's the case, you assaulted Comrade Hu Xingbang without cause. You must be dealt with according to military regulations. I'll decide on your punishment after the military doctor has examined Comrade Hu Xingbang's injuries in detail. Do you have any objections?"

This gave Zhang Jianjun another chance.

But Zhang Jianjun was still the same as before, "Nothing to say."

This almost made Captain Yang explode with anger. He looked at this "very capable" subordinate in front of him with gritted teeth.

"That's it, Zhang Jianjun. Just wait for your punishment. And forget about the promotion to deputy battalion commander. You're lucky I didn't demote you."

He was angry that Zhang Jianjun got into trouble at this critical moment, and he was even more angry that he didn't say a word about the reason for the fight. He wanted to help him reduce his punishment but couldn't.

"Your punishment is only one aspect. In addition, you must compensate Comrade Hu Xingbang for his losses as appropriate," he added.
